I live 4 min away from Drake harbor (Warsaw Missouri) we have a bunch of Spoonbill out right by the harbor y'all should come check it out some time. I realed in a 73 pounder out there
Yes but now we only use 2 hooks because we noticed that we never hooked any fish on the top hook. I'll post a video soon about how we tie on. Stay posted
Do you think I could catch any in the tennesee river or are there not any there. And 16 to 20 oz of weight! Wow thats a whole lotta lead. Do you ever hang logs or old car doors or any of that other junk on the bottom? I am interested in doing this.
Check with your conservation dept to see if you have them and what the season is.
Yes we get snagged on stuff alot. it helps to have a pair of gloves and a strong stick to wrap you line around and pull to see if you can get it out. if you use the smaller hooks sometimes you can bend them.
well you get a big rig deep sea rod and reel, something with some backbone to it. get about 60-100 lb test line and tie on 2-3 size 8-12 treble hooks about 2 feet apart from each other. then you put a big weight on the very end of the line about 16-20 oz weight, Then just troll and let it bounce off the bottom, I'll seee about putting up an instructional video
Man I'm ready to snag some spoonbill. I've never snagged LoZ, but plan to try this year. I'm more at home down on Tablerock's James River arm. We slaughter them down there, but I still want to try LoZ since they have a couple tournaments in April.
