  • Chaplin unlike most artists today was multi-talented and was able to acquire new skills, the whole film 'The Rink' from 1917 and 20+ minutes is well worth watching.

  • why dont they make movies this funny anymore?....

  • For someone who falls on his arse so much, he sure knows how to skate!

  • Genius at work

  • Go to archive.org and see all of Charlie Chaplin's old, old movies for free. Really good. Thanks for posting.

  • if you like to see the history of movies watch * BIRTH OF CINEMA* in youtube and enjoy

  • erm this is my first time watching charlie chaplin so is it just so naturally that all his movements are so smooth and swift here or is it the video quality....?

  • chaplin was a master at everything. he had temendous strenght and control over his movements. sometimes they would speed up or slow down film for comic effect but this looks like its real time.

  • @salashaska223 I know, isn't it funny? You see a picture of him without the little moustache and you go, "Woah, what a handsome guy".

  • @CCNuck Even with the mustache I think he's adorable...and I'm not big into mustaches!

  • I'm not sure if anyone else has had this thought, but I think Hugh Laurie from "House" looks a lot like Charlie Chaplin. >.>

  • Does anyone remember the name of the Chaplin movie with "the blind girl"? I want to find it to watch here. Anyway--he composed the lilting background music to it.

  • Yep it's "City Lights".

  • Chaplin was brilliant at everything he did, including roller skating. And he was so graceful, too!

  • He's so much more coordinated at skating than I am. If only those stupid other people weren't getting in the way!

  • Era anche un compositore con un gusto geniale...
