  • Believers are quit imposible

  • People are afraid of the truth.

  • I remember reading somewhere that 87% of biologists in Europe were outright atheists; indeed, the world would be a better place if we all as adults had a greater understanding of human and animal biology. I remember being educated in the UK, it was never a case of x is wrong and y is right, they always gave me the evidence, showed me both sides and told me to make my own decision, I did, I was an atheist from an early age. Great video Phil.

  • Phil for Prime Minister !!!

  • just makes me think of someone as lazy as me =P

  • most Christians never read the bible

the knowledge came to them from society

  • we need more thinkers like you, who are't afraid to speak whats real, many act like they want the truth, yet when the truth is there, they can't except it..as for christians, i agree too..many act like since there christian there good, while there fucking there church kids...but none of them wanna see that..

  • Are you suggesting we are a lazy lot? Maybe you are right and maybe this calls for you to try another way to approach us and what is wrong with a fly? What an Ego you have. Thanks for your effort though.

  • Parts 1 through 7 are in response to philhellenes: If you don’t understand my points, examples, or definitions, please ask. Time permitting, I will answer. Mull it over at your leisure and get back to me. (But please note, I'm limited on time.)

  • @bigsoundz Bullshit. Spam. Copy and paste. Yes I deleted 1-7. Why? .) Because not ONE related to the video or ANY of the points I raised. And 2) How the fuck did you know you were going to use 7 comments...UNLESS you have copy and pasted the same bullshit elsewhere? I'm NOT wasting the time to refute 7 blocks of bull. You relied on that, but you made the error of saying there would be 7 before you even began. Try it on someone else. And yes, you're blocked, for being a clumsy troll. :)

  • @bigsoundz Tip for your future trolling pleasure. You STARTED with "point 7" so that your comments appeared in order, with 7 being the lowest on the page, and 1 at the top. BIG, DUMB mistake. Be smarter next time. :)

  • Great video but about the greek science and medicine you are wrong, it goes back to the Egyptians, thats where Greeks got it from ;)

    keep debunking Islam...youre cool

  • So Islam was in the forefront of Science/Technology hey, so why is every Islamic country today an absolute craphole. Talk about resting on your laurels.

Please don't liken flies to Muslims at least flies have a purpose phil.

  • No chance of a hug then?

  • @philhellenes He's right, you know. About the dildos.

Wait, no. Never mind. He's fucking insane.

  • @philhellenes enjoy ur vids. Eventhough I am a believer - Islam is my religion - I love questioning faith. And hell, you even hold the FAITH that there is no God (Allah). It's all good. Keep up your task.

  • @dwsjca If you are are questioning believer check out the channels' therationalizer, theramintrees, qualiasoup, and darkmatter2525. I don't think anyone can watch most the videos on their channels without seriously questioning their religious beliefs.

  • @dwsjca

athiesm isn't a faith. You are an idiot. Athiesm is simpy the lack of beleive due to insufficiant evidence. For one to beleive bigfoot doesn't exist it doesn't mean they have faith bigfoot doesn't exist. Same with santa clause, martians, or faries.

  • @NUTCASE71733 I have no clue what you are talking about nor can I even come up with a response I believe could even understand. So I bid you adieu. Salam Allekem

  • @usmanakhan43- I'm sure you know a thing or two about dildos, hehe

  • @usmanakhan43 Well, dildos are great fun so what would be the problem sir?

  • @usmanakhan43 Actually the oldest dildo ever found is 25000 yaers old and found in the middle east.

  • @usmanakhan43 Actually the oldest dildo ever found is 25000 yaers old and found in the middle east. BTW it's double-headed.

  • @usmanakhan43 Actually the oldest dildo ever found was from the stone-age. It's like 25000 years old, and probably not the very first, of course. Islam wasn't invented until what, 630 or something? So you didn't invent the dildo, muslims! Now stop bragging and lying! : )

  • allah hates all muslims thats why he sent mohammad the homosexual pedifile

  • @351madmaxv8 an evil comment but some truth in it, phil wont troll you cos he only dislikes people who disagree with his atheist fundamentalism, he is a pure troll - the truth in this comment is that those who believe being sent a prophet is a blessing on their tribe could do well to think twice, the jews got sent more than any and every one of them said god didn't think they were very nice, accused them of cursing their forefathers and more, the arabs were going badly wrong when Mohammed came

  • The problem with Muslems is they are too proud to face the truth and too lazy to search for it! Just like all the other religious nuts.

  • There were atheists before Darwin, just to clarify. Though they received even poorer a welcome than they do these days from religious nuts.

  • @leotakesleo state your source

  • I don't mention Galileo ONCE!

I DO talk about "GALEN". Look him up. Study him, on HISTORIC web-sites, NOT Islamic ones. Google "Galen stages of embryology". If you're honest, you'll see one of the "scientific miracles" in the Qur'an, WRITTEN ALMOST A THOUSAND YEARS BEFORE THE QUR'AN.

But I predict you won't even try, or you'll just read the lies on Islamic sites. You don't know enough to realise you have been lied to.

  • philhellenes you are so much trusthworthy than all these fooled, poor, islamists..

  • phil easy its not his fault he's been raised to believe his magic book is right................ but then again he is on youtube so he's obviously smart enough to use the net so nevermind let him have it

  • @philhellenes you are debunking, with alot of assumptions, if assumptions got it there, you wouldn`t have proceeded going on debunking because it would have worked for us, for we assume you can debunk the true religion of islam. And it is partially because an experienced muslim knows and has experience with people like you, flapping questions who really don`t make any sense. brothers interpret his questioning, and if you want to make an answering video, run his tape take a piece of paper, study

  • Lol.. idiot...

  • look for harith ibn kalada one of the first muslims who's mentioned in the hadiths, who was a doctor and whoes well versed in GREEK literiture

    great video

  • The fact is Muslims take credit from Persian scientists, Arabs who invaded Persia burned libraries and their commander said we don't need any book since Quran will told us everything. They forced Persians to convert by sword, the same happened in the invasion of Spain. but we were unlucky because we were their neighbore and it was easier to capture. like today they rape and kill protesters in Iran. ISLAM is a CULT OF DEATH.

  • Sorry for a typo

  • im sorry for all the darkness islam brought ur great empire...

well.. they invaded my nation too... indeed they r destroying my land until this moment...

  • If we had a time machine, I would agree that we would see something more realistic. And the people who believe in the miracles would definitely be disappointed in the end, and the realization would be devastating.

  • I love 9:45 til the end.

  • Christians, Muslims, etc. will always come to your videos, Phil. They want you to listen to them, whilst refusing to listen to you in turn. This is because their programming, brainwashing if you will, teaches them to put their fingers in their ears and go; "La-la-la-de-daaaa! I can't hear you!" This applies to their lack of willingness to open their minds to learn as well.

  • blank...

how could they open mind? their book tells them otherwise... they wouldn't be faithful if they do. it would count for blasphemy such they r brainwashed to believe.

  • the example of the "greek mountain and the fly" was brilliant

  • I like the whole video but the part that I liked was when he talked about going back in time with the Muslim and hiding in the back of the cave watching what really happend.

  • as always, you were correct (or more-so correct). You lost some points for insulting the guy though. He's obviously intellegent (theres 100000 types of intellect). Just naive.

Imagine if this was with a seriously traditional fresh-out-the-desert muslim. Like arguing with a rock.

  • Phil, YOU KICK ASS! Keep up the good work!!!

  • this might be a bit old....but im going to fav it...

    5/5

  • 100% LOGICAL!

i used to be a "theist=ignorant", i really DID believe that there might be stuff that we cannot explain scientifically ...i was 15 years old back then :P ..I do regret wasting my time thinking about stuff that fall outside my "box".

Religion is nothing but a BRAINWASHING machine! some might argue that without religion, there would've been no morals. I say, PEOPLE who created ALL religious scripts added the morality "flavor" just to cover the dozens of their illogical myths!

  • I like your metaphors!

  • I particularly liked the "apple" one. It seems almost all theists just ask the same questions over and over again, meaning they must have had answers over and over again, but they just keep asking.

Either they are just too dumb to understand, or they just like wasting your time. Don't let them. Most questions theists ask can be answered with the same two words: "search engine". ;)

  • are you greek by the way?

  • This is a fiver. I really like your apple analogy also - paints a vivid mental picture for me. It's so easy to get sucked into an endless (and pointless) argument loop by people who simply aren't interested in an honest exchange of ideas.

  • They're not THAT dumb. Also, in PMs, I've often offered to answer a few basic questions about science and the history of science for believers, just explanations, how rainbows work etc, no "atheist preaching". Some seemed quite genuine in their curiosity. But not ONE ever too me up on it. They either can't think of a question or are scared of actually understanding something. It's weird, unnatural.

  • lmao @ how rainbows work lol don't ruin the fantasy im still trying to get my pot of gold hehe

  • Now I`m tryig to remember, where I heard the first time that the earth was sphere? Was that my father who was a school teacher,or my brother,he was 4 years older than me.He used to read things to me from his school books or it was my teacher in elementary school, may be it was the TV,no it was the children radio I was listening every afternoon. What elles I learned more, that I cant remember today when, where, from who? Is that mean didnt learn anything from anybody? I must be a prophete(a female one)

  • you just accuse that prophet get the scientific information from greek by mouth. Please give your prof that happend. Form historial record, syllabus, text or anything. If you go to court and said that " he must get it form another person" and just that, the judge will reject your information. You must bring prof.

  • What evidence that such knowledge existed in the middle east at the time would you accept? What proof would you EXPECT there to be?

  • Like I said, if in the court you said that "he must be knowing it from his neighbor, they live close each other", but there are no witness or record on it whatsoever, the judge will reject your accusation. Because maybe He sleep in his house or busy with another matter. So your theory on that matter will be remain a theory, even if there were possibility that the knowledge reach prophet by oral, if no record its remain a theory.

  • That is just your accuse that Mohammad get greek scientific information from mouth. Please give a prof, history record, text, syllabus or anything that Mohammad meet with a men and talking about scientific greek scientific information. If you go to court and you said that "he must be know it from somebody" and just that the judge will not accept your argument. If you said that the arab after muhammad death that insert the information that is another accuse.

  • There is no text saying Mohammad spoke to anyone with the knowledge. All I'm saying is that such knowledge existed and was relatively common place in Mohammad's day, that the medical knowledge (for instance) came originally from the Greeks and India, and later became part of Persian medecine, which was THE medical standard of the day and the area. I could supply you with references, easily. But I know you just ask another stupid question. It's the Muslim "way".

  • You need evidence. Historical record. Like when prophet meet with bukhara (the Nasrani/christian monk) it have been recorded. There isn't any historical record that prophet met or discuss about certain scientific information with anybody. Scientific information is second priority for prophet at that time. He was busy keep him self alive and build the moslem community.

  • did the apple ever get eaten..

  • The world is better without religion, Norway is proof of that. Crowned the world's best country to live in six times in a row, the richest or at least in the top 3 richest countries in the world, and it is one of the 19 countries with no measurable levels of illiteracy. I could go on, my point is, it is also the LEAST religious country in Europe. Which pretty much proves my earlier statement. Atheism ftw.

  • Wonderful. They can have a nice time in this temporary life. That is meaningless once your decaying in the grave.

  • I suppose you're implying that atheists worship science? Ludicrous.

  • Ditto

  • Actually the ways of knowing how mammals reproduce could be numerous. Someone could've studied a domesticated animal and the way they get pregnant and have offspring, for one.

Or perhaps some form of medical research or operation. Autopsy for example. Surgery, at least in some basic forms, can be dated as far back as 9000 years to ancient Egypt. Which is not really surprising considering that they mummified people after death. In case you don't know, that includes removing the internal organs.

  • how did the quran know about the embryo?

  • you sir are one complete moron, LOL. the best laugh i've had in ages, a sailor in 6 century pre-islamic mecca, intermingling of pre-islamic meccan, or central northern arb tribes at common social level, you are one complete moron.

then again before uni, education i myself was a little backwards, i might have come to the same picture of pre-islamic society, with knowing history, arab culture, geography, arabic, history of writting, all things to get a accurate picture of the time.

  • Describe for me the state of Persian medicine BEFORE Islam.

  • you first have to understand the difference between central/northern arab tribes, and the southern arabian kingdom. you will note a difference in history, culture, religion, and ligustics............. other then seeing the society in it's own picture, we move onto how much influence southern arabia has on the desert arab of central arabia.

  • Describe for me, from what you know, the state of Persian medicine BEFORE Islam.

  • well phil, 1st of because your questoin was deviod of context, and came from nowhare, i decided to answer in the same vain. 2nd to attemp to answer that question within 500 characters would just show my ignorance, to describe pre-islamic medicine of persia would take a thesis answer. 3rd the direction you are coming from is erronous because persia didn't readily interact with the meccan society much more then rome, africa, syria, india, china.

  • No need for a thesis length answer. I'll simplify my question. Would you say Persian medecine pre-Islam was a) "backward", b) average for the time) or c) "advanced" for the time?

  • you are indeed a moron.

    a)backward moron

    b)average moron

    c)advanced moron

    LOL.

  • Interesting. You obviously know where I was leading you, to some facts. You didn't want to go there. So it seems you strongly suspect I'm telling the truth. And to avoid uttering the facts that would prove MY point, you call me names, thinking that would distract me. And a "LOL" when I know you were not laughing, just like a child. Interesting, but NOT unusual.

  • i'm laughing, best laugh i've had in some time.

bytheway i WAS laughing, i'm still laughing.

    dude you are hilarious.

  • You're not laughing. I haven't said anything "hilarious", unless you are mentally ill, and I don't think you are.

  • So, would you say Persian medecine pre-Islam was a) "backward", b) average for the time) or c) "advanced" for the time?

  • so now, please describe for me the state of the meccan society of arabia.

  • What period do you want me to describe?

  • pre-islam, what do you think?

  • Pagan. A trading centre, much of the trade coming by sea via the nearby port. The people largely believed in a polytheistic religion that worshipped at the site of the Kaaba, and venerated the Alschar al Aswad still venerated by Muslims to this day. I'd guess that there were many more culturally and intellectually rich cities, but it was busy place, with people passing through on their way to the port.

  • Alschar al Aswad? what the hell is that?

dude asks a stupid question, i reply illustrating it's stupidity by throwing back a similar stupid question, dude then proceeds by showing he is more stupid by trying to answer that very same stupid question with an equally stupid answer.

good one mate, thanks for the laugh.

  • Spelling mistake. I meant "al-Hajar-ul-Aswad", or ""Hadschar al Aswad".

  • If God doesn't exist, where did we come from?

  • How do YOU think you might find an answer to that question? Where would YOU start?

  • i would begin by pondering about my existence

  • Good start. THEN what would you do?

  • what is my purpose? why do i exist?

but in order to answer that, i would first have to ask: How did i get here?

    *

Ok back to my question: If God doesn't exist, where did we come from?

  • I'm answering your question, in stages.

So, you have asked yourself, "How did I get here?" That is an excellent question. It's a mystery. A puzzle. What would YOU do next to answer it?

  • Since i know i exist.

I also know i didn't cause myself to exist (i didn't choose to exist)

    therefore something caused my existence.

  • A+. So far so good. The steps so far are the same steps, questions and conclusions I reached myself. But obviously there are many more.

Okay. We exist. We did not cause our own existence nor did we ask for it. Something else caused us to exist. You came into this world as a baby (I assume you agree). So where did the baby come from? What caused the baby?

  • A lot of arrogance and little substance, another version of Pat Condell. It was torture to sit through first few minutes, skipped to the end and again nothing but personal attacks and no substance. Keep it coming for you ego. Middle age man who can't make it academically found new place to mislead people; youtube.

  • What evidence can you provide to back your claims that Prophet Muhammad got all that knowledge from sources you quote....

  • I don't have a time machine so I cannot "prove" it. It is a question not of proof but of probability. The knowledge WAS common place. Search "Persian medecine" and come back and tell me what you learned..

  • So it would be a theory that you put forward...hmm....

Which is neither supported by anyone's account...historians..nor the conditions we know of that time & place.

Infact it is highly improbable if you want to go with probability.

I sincerely and humbly request you to read the Quran from cover to cover with Tafsir...

You would see how these claims would seem illogical.

  • WRONG! Historians back me COMPLETELY. As I suggested in the video, Google "library of Alexandria", or "GALEN" or "HIPPOCRATES" or (and MOST especially) the "HISTORY of PERSIAN MEDECINE", and you will find ample proof that what was correct in the Qur'an was common knowledge at the time (NO MIRACLES!). What is wrong in the Qur'an was ALSO common belief of Mohammad's day.

Google for yourself before you come back.

  • Please refer to "Cataract surgery" on wikipedia, under the hedding of "history".

  • These debates are so futile.

  • I don't fully understand how you CAN be a Muslim if you can hear what I'm saying, but that you can agree on ANY level gives me hope for Islam in the future. Maybe tolerance will come.

I must STRONGLY disagree about "futile" though. The Muslim I mentioned (but did not name) at the end of the vid wrote to me a few months ago and has now left Islam. So he almost moved me to tears a second time. He is free. He is happy. Keep picking apples, and peace be upon us all.

  • basically, i don't view holy texts as scientific sources. I think that's what your main point is through this long skirmish with gabriel and i think that's where we agree.

  • It's SLIGHTLY more involved than that. There are ERRORS in the Quran, that mimic the work of Galen and Hippocrates (particularly the notion that "flesh forms around the bones", of a fetus).

This is also found in the Qur'an in Sura 23:14.

    And it's WRONG.

So would you go as far as to concede that if Galen DID write this first (you would have to pick the apple for yourself to be convinced ofc), that THERE is at least ONE error in the Qur'an copied indirectly from the Greeks?

  • I repeat, unlike those that have tried to proselytise you with bits of scripture claiming to be science, i didn't read the qur'an in a literal manner. If this (moderate theism) is an untenable position for you, then fair enough.

  • I didn't think you'd be able to agree. I apologize. I hope you can forgive me for "pushing". I was being greedy. You had already impressed me more than 99% of Muslims who comment on my videos. I just wanted to see if you could impress me just that little bit more more.

I expect too much, or maybe I hope too much. Go in peace, MU.

  • I agree with the jist of what you say and i'm Muslim.

  • Very good vid! Kudos!

  • Ok, I'll give you that. How about the fact that all surah numbers added together gives you a number equal to the odd sums of surah numbers + verse number of each surah?

How about the fact that all verse number (6236) is equal to the even sums of each surah + its verses? You are probably too dumb to understand the maths of this, if you are smart enough go check it for yourself. 'word of mouth' LMFAO!

  • Creative accountancy is hardly evidence of divine revelation, it points more towards desparation.

  • If you take enough time to search a whole book for "patterns", you will always find something. There are so many different things which you can count or interpretate, that you can be sure to find something special ;-).

Same with the quran. This is no mircacle.

  • what on earth does that prove? the number of surah's and verses can be easly fixed to look like something with a mathematical meaning.

did you forget that during the so called revelation quran had no numbers in it? no surah no verse and what so ever. Quran was collected and those numbers were made after the revelation ended with the death of Mohammad.

Are you that desperate for a miracle that you are trying your best to find patterns in a book that contains 6348 verses??

    I feel sad for you.

  • *sigh* To debunk a "proof of divine intervention", all you have to do is to show, that there exists at least one possible explanation for a phenomena without divine intervention.

The pure existence of non-divine explanations is enough to show that a god was not necessary.

  • the great thing about trying to discredit so called "miracles" from a divine source is that all one has to do is provide 1 possible natural explanation. it can be the most unlikely explaination and it would still completely distroy a miracle. the problem with miracles is that they are impossible and they require absolute cirtainty and absolute knowledge which no human posses.

  • so when a muslim says that its "impossible" for muhammad to know something 1400 years ago and "only" allah could have given him the information is a very bold statement to make. but if dont like phil's explaination. you can always demonstrate with your own proof that muhammad never met a sailer or that he never met a person who met a person who met a person who met a sailor. you can demonstrate that before muhammad the knowledge never existed. good luck with that.

  • here is another video that does more to discredit the muslim's "scientific Miracle" lol

    watch?v=TxcdA0HXWlw

  • i did some home work on the verse in question

55:19 بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَّا يَبْغِيَانِ. it would seem that the word بَرْزَخٌ translates to isthmas, which is a narrow stretch of pretruding land that conects 2 area (ie, isthmas of the panama canal). many english translations trasnlate بَرْزَخٌ to mean barrier which is a very vague word even in the contect of the verse.

  • correction the the above should arabic verse is actually 55:20

  • 55:19-20

[Y. Ali trans.]He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together:Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress:

[M.H. Shakir trans.]He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass.

if we take this verse as a scientific fact about oceanology then this verse would be wrong. the "barrier" is not impenitrable. the salt and fresh water do eventually mix together and become homogenized.

  • when i was in grade 3 my science teacher had us do a experiment with table salt, water, food coloring and a glass container. most elementry school children do this experiment. im sure 1500 most people in muhammad's time had access to water, salt,a container and at least 2 different color dyes. needless to say, this experiment was to demonstrate how both salt water and fresh water form 2 layers on each other. but if you left it long enough or if you josled the container, both waters would mix.

  • i gave a few ways the oceanology verses can be discredited;1)The verses are too vague.the verses can be intentionally misinterpretation.2) muhammad had access to sailors and people who may have spoken to sailors.3)muhammad also had all the tools needed to do a 3rd grade science experiment.4)and even if we took the verse as an muslims try to explain it (as a miracle), its still a total FAIL. no matter how you cut the moldy cheese it still stinks. :P try again. EPIC FAIL on your part.

  • That Muslim is a total retard, I am not surprised . I love this quote from Paine "To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead." -- Thomas Paine

It is a waste of time talking to total RETARDS that do not want to use their brain!

  • Theists have 'faith' this makes them allergic to truth. They are lazy and feeble-minded and will never check out any information anyone offers them in fear they may find they were wrong. Theists can only cherry-pick whatever can be twisted to support their preconceived and unquestioned bias. They therefore shelter in their carefully cultivated wilful ignorance and condemn anyone who really seeks truth. This is why I see religion as a literal form of serious insanity.

  • I had no idea that I almost brought you to tears, Phil. I apologize.

I think the idea that you can "lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink" summarizes your frustration nicely. A friendly tip - Shoving his head in the water and sucking on his asshole doesn't work. Of course, after you try that the horse will follow you anywhere, but for the life of me, no amount of breath mints helps.

  • Apology accepted, with the following reservation.

Much as I admire your determination to make a horse drink, I am merely interested in the results, not the means by which they were achieved. Horse whispering is okay. Tossing a horse's salad is strictly a personal matter. You would do well to remember this as your actions reflect poorly on secular humanism.

  • Please, Lee, not while I'm drinking! Eww, the mess.

  • You can always tell a muslim but you can't tell him much. Philhu Akbar

  • His children will taste the apples, his grandchildren will live on them.

  • Brutal. Simply brutal. I almost feel bad for the guy - but he is the one making the outrageous claims, after all.

Shame there's no polite way to inform someone that they've spent their life worshiping the delusional fantasies of anonymous madmen.

  • Excellent video

  • All religions require a certain level of ignorance, willful or otherwise, to obtain and maintain converts.

  • poor little mohamaad, running across the gaza strip. terror in his little eyes, death on his doorstep. wondering how his parents could have voted for hamas??

  • One have to admire your patience ;)

  • saddening, but predictable, how many times have we been here before.

  • Hay don't insult a fly by calling it a human. Flys are beautiful, though those that anoy me still die.

  • The fruit fly may have just given us a cure for cancer. Beauty comes in all forms & functions. No God(s) necessary.

  • This hit home with me. I recently had a e-mail conversation with a creationist who demanded proof of evolution. I recommended several good books and his response was to ignore them and repeat I had no proof. That is infuriating. I'd like to think it was not pointless however... Theres always a change that a bit of doubt will creep in and plant itself. Maybe I'll send him a link to this video. Thanks Phil.

  • I could hear you for hours and hours.

  • we muslims wants to believe in allan, so if you stupids atheismists prove that allan dosent exists - then you are just wrong

we want to believe in allan. that makes him true

  • Thats the most ignorant thing i have ever read.

  • Is that the great Leeds and England striker "Clarke"

  • I believe in Allan too. He's my next door neighbour.

  • He's not trying? Sounds like he's very trying to me. lol.

  • When you type I hear your voice. How do you do that?

  • I was thinking the same thing, I guess I've just seen too many videos from kal

  • Excellent response. Any religious person involved in any way with science or medicine MUST practice selective learning in order to maintain the delusion. Science and knowledge (REAL knowledge, not fairy tales) is an antidote to religious belief like vitamin C is to scurvy.

  • "you're not trying"

you've just summed up religion 3 words. congratulations.

  • 5/5

  • 5 stars for this video!

  • He doesn't want to check out the 'apple' because he is afraid that the apple might be full of worms and not edible(disappointing him re his beliefs in that you might be right). Typical delusional thinking, in that he lives with a severe level of conviction in his delusion and won't allow info that contradicts his delusion.

  • i like the idea of there not being a god uless that god used a computer to design everything

  • Great video. He won't get it though.

  • That person is an embarrassment to the trade.

  • wow, philhellenes hit the nail on the head repeatedly and with pin-point accuracy.

  • Hi Phil, great vids! I am having similar arguments with a muslims as I write, everything he has pointed out in the quran are copied or worng but will he accept it 'NO', they want to be blind, what I hate about him is his hate towards non muslims but I guess I have to accept it as that is what the quran teaches. Keep the vids coming. Loz

  • Extraordinarily well presented. You've relieved much frustration from those of us who tend to place all the weight on ourselves when having these discussions...

...Coincidentally, I've recently been learning this on my own: In an argument with a creationist about synchronous dinosaur/human tracks, I actually CONVINCED him (so he said) to learn some basic principles of geology and paleontology and go out and have a look at the tracks himself!

  • very well done. between you and the amazing atheist, islam is taking quite a beating :). there is a very good vid out also called "what islam is not". my problem is there are so many apples and no time possibly eat them all or even feel like i'm making a dent...

  • i am subscribed to both phil and to taa.

two very different personalities, but both very intelligent. i want to mention especially taa. he is such a likable, humble guy, and i mean this without any irony.

  • Great you're making videos again at a more frequent rate

  • Make more videos :|

    This was great.

  • That's right: you did not have to be literate to be educated at the time - there simply was not enough detailed knowledge to require it. In any case, literacy rates were very low so that education had to be by word of mouth and the few people that could read and write constituted a highly skilled profession.

  • Have they accepted any yet? I got one to accept one of mine, but I'm not sure when he'll go back on the decision and remove it.

  • You deserve way more subscribers.

  • You are a master of analogy.

  • My bosses at my old job hated me for it. :)

  • My mind has been blown

  • I am sooo stealing that apple analogy.

  • I am soooo giving it to you, gift-wrapped with a bow.

  • Damn your good. I am a heterosexual but after hearing you presenting your arguments, I always feel like laying back and having a smoke.
