  • Nice shot. I got the same knife as u

  • That looks like a major project... Good shot

  • @outdoorsmen12 ya I think we all did! Dumbass! Blink 182, rise against, anti flag, and against me.

  • i laughed because of the goat

  • where are you from?

  • i love your video i actually skinned my first squirrek to this video.. great job

  • samson the goat <3

  • all u are pussys

  • You realize I had a similar video with how to properly dress a squirrel, and YouTube deleted it and penalized my account! It was labeled a "gross out" video. It was my father showing how to clean a squirrel for the kitchen.

  • 5:58 GOAT!!!!!!!!!!

  • when i see squirrels fall, it makes me *happy*

  • great video, my dachsund loves to tree them, i just never get them away from him once he gets them on the ground

  • 7:25 you took his trousers off lolol

  • hey man nice vid.what is he gun you use?doesn't sound like .22 cal.

I shot squirrel only once and I can tell, they've got tuff skin as fu*k, a lot more than rabbits!!!regards JAY

  • What a great video! I also have a video up on how to clean squirrel. I really like how you remove hair before cutting the skin. Check out my video "Sarge shows how to skin and clean a squirrel". By the way, I graduated from the University of Michigan. It was great how you filmed the squirrel's fall! Congradulations on how well your video is doing, you deserve it.

  • @GrowlinWillie

Thanks for the comment!! GO BLUE!!

  • @wyttale How do you keep safe from rabies?

  • @Builderanddestroyer cook em good

  • @Builderanddestroyer squirells dont contract rabies ever its proven, deer dont, geese dont, ducks dont, vrabbits dont, mostly coyotes, raccoons, and foxes do

  • @mike12703 and dont forget skunks

  • @GrowlinWillie sarge is the man when it comes to skinnin a squirrel !!! iv showed that videos to atleast 50 people ,,, this is the same thing just a lil messier ,,, i am for sure gonna try the butt hair removel befor skinning tho ,,

  • coolest video i have seen in a month

  • so after u hit to squirrel and its flopping around is it dead or are those just the nerves still acting after death?

  • @tehguyyouknow That's just nerves. It was head shot. Death was pretty quick.

  • is that an old timer knife?

  • @futuremarine548

No. It's a Buck 110 before they were made in China.

  • @wyttale oh. i have an old timer that looks exactly like that and nice teqnique on cleaning

  • @futuremarine548

    Thanks.

  • wow nice shots man.

  • @Eminem1Mw2

    Thanks man!

  • @wyttale What state do you live in those are some pretty big fox squirrels. here in SE PA i only get them gray squirrels with an occasional black squirrel sighting. And in the winter a Fox or 2 will trot by.

  • @Eminem1Mw2

    Southwest Michigan.

  • That is probly the longest most complicated way I've ever witnessed to dress a squirrel.

  • that's nice

  • I just pull the fur off the legs and then cut the legs off and skin the legs. Probably gonna go kill some tomorrow.

  • Was that a goat or a dog trying to get up in the video? haha

  • @djinjekted

    It was a goat!!

  • @wyttale That's hilarious! I totally need to get me a hunting goat.

  • @djinjekted

That damn goat. All he ever hunted was a place to eat, shit and sleep!! LOL!!

  • that first squrrel was fat

  • you cant skin a squiral verry good you make it hard all you haft to do is make a slit in his back stick your fingers in and pull skin off

  • @thomasstamper

Whatever man!! You say patato I say potato!! Everybody hes there own way of doing things!!

  • lol just use a bb gun?

  • love it. but shooting a rifle in the air isnt cool. i'd use a shotgun if you're gonna do that..

  • Any tips for a new hunter? :3 is a 4-10 good enough to get the largest greys and reds? My dad says squirrel skin really sticks to the meat. Is this true? (meaning should I clean em' up right after my shot) and finally, whats the best place for squrreils? marsh, forest, swamp ect? (other then the ovbious "many tall tree" stuff) thanks!

  • @TheDragonLake First, thanks for watching the video! Second, a 4-10 is an alright gun for squirrels if it has a full choke and you use larger shot like #4 or #5. The theory is larger shot hits harder. Squirrels are very tough little critters and if they aren't hit in a vital area the chance of losing the animal goes up dramatically. If you have one, I would use a .22 rifle instead of the shotgun. Put a good scope on it with a variable zoom and shoot it alot!!

  • @TheDragonLake

.22 ammo is very inexpensive and very effective on squirrels. Squirrels love acorns and corn. If you can find a corn field on the edge of a hardwood stand that is producing a mast, then you have found a gold mine. Set up where you can see both field and trees before daylight and the squirrels will come. Good luck and good hunting!!

  • is this for grey squirrels too

  • @lewisdude24

Yeah, a squirrel is a squirrel is a squirrel!!

  • Me personally, I'd just take the fur off and eat the skin with the meat. Skin is amazing if you know how to prepare it. Good eating though ( the meat alone)

  • so what would i do if i wanted to tan a squierrels fur

  • @100ballpythons100

Squirrel hide is thin enough you don't need to tan it. Remove all meat, wash in tide detergent, squeeze dry and coat skin side with 20 mule team borax. Let it dry for 7-14 days. Change the borax midway.

I mounted one studying an online taxidermy class. Borax was the preservative and they preferred 20 mule team borax.

  • Amazing how people care so much for a dumb squirrel but have no problem eating far more intelligent pigs, or tuna that results in dolphin bycatch.

Great video. Very informative. I'm trying to learn to prepare small game in case of TEOTWAWKI, and your video really helped. I did a question though.

Why not slit the throat to allow blood to leave the body? Wouldn't this make for cleaner work?

  • @skatejason

Thanks for your comments. There isn't really alot of blood to speak of in a squirrel and what there is of it, I can wash off and be fine. Good hunting man!!

  • what state are you in?

  • HAHA GOAT LICKED U!

  • that looks good i want to try some squirrel

  • @Gorilla1608

Well all I can say is that you seem to be a unidirectional individual. Deer are not the only animal in the woods that are edible!! If you open your eyes you will see that we also harvest deer, rabbits, turkey, ducks and geese. We are also known to take a few turtles and make meals out of them too!! Before you jump to conclusions, do some more investigations of the people you are attacking. People with your limitations may just learn something about them.

  • @Gorilla1608 Okay, if they were hunting ONLY for enjoyment, I MIGHT agree - the fact is that they are hunting for FOOD as well.

Food is needed to continue existing. Meat is food. Meat comes from animals. A squirrel is an animal. Ergo, a squirrel is made of meat, and is edible. Simplified enough for you?

  • Go Blue kind sir. Happened to notice your michigan jacket. Good vid as well, going squirrel hunting tommorow.

  • I love how fishing is NEVER FLAGGED!!!!!!!!!!!! some people are stupid. A squirrel can feel and a salmon can't. nevermind

  • @airgunhunter28 You could if you wanted. I just boil it with salt added to the water until tender and fry it.

  • Nice Shot!

  • this isnt as gross as i thought

  • Holy crap. You field dressed that squirrel like it was nothing. I just did my first attempt at a field dress today and destroyed it...How do you make sure that you dont break the bladder?

  • @TeamTrogdor

You just have to be careful and know a little about the anatomy of the game animal you are cleaning. I have learned a better and faster way to clean these critters now and when season starts I will post another video on this. thanks for checking out the video!

  • sure was a lot of unecessary work just to rip the guts out.....

  • why do people always wear orange in hunting videos? Is that and American law?

  • @eat4peace

This law varies from state to state.

  • @eat4peace Most animals are color blind or are inept to see certain colors. Also it is safe because another hunter can see the orange vividly in the snow. Hope that ansers your question.

  • @ILuVmYShReDStIcK

Thanks. I'm from the Uk so that law doesn't apply to me. I've seen in lots of videos that people wear lots of cammo and an orange hat/top -It just seems quite pointless really. But better safe than sorry i suppose.

  • @eat4peace yeah, but I don't get it either, I own land so It should only be me out there when I'm hunting and still my father makes me put on orange.

  • why do you guys not eat the skin and head? jw

  • @msmoneychang

There isn't any meat on a squirrels head and I really don't like to eat fur!!

  • @wyttale a squirrels head is pretty good to me. i just torch them when i get home and scrape the leftover fur with a knife. then gut them. cause i love eating squirrel skin (but only if they're young) haha if they old darn its too hard. feels like chewing rubber.

  • @wyttale and how long does it take for you to skin them like that? jws

  • @msmoneychang

This method is very time consuming!! Since I did this video I have changed the way I skin a squirrel. The new way is more efficient.

  • @wyttale: i strat from the anus up, and then i work the skin off the squirrel. i then cut off the feet and split the head, ALOT simpler, also saves the pelt for mounting. save the tails, they make good fishing jigs and dressed hooks, theres also a lure company(mepps) that buys them for somewhere around 23 cents each.

that goat was kinda funny! where did it come from.

  • @jonnytheninja2R

The goat is named "Sampson". He is 2 years old now and a very handsom fella. I own 7 goats 4 of which are his sons!! They're a hoot when they all get together and start buttin' heads!!

  • @wyttale oh i knew it was time consuming but was just making sure..looks clean though. good job.

  • hey im from michigan to

  • i shot a sqirrel with the same 22., but no scope

  • ive never had squirrel. i really want to. but i was wondering what it tasted like before i wasted meat.

  • I liked your video very much.

  • good shot

  • @knifefight19 Are you ready to engage

  • i thought your not alowed to hunt with semiauto rifles?

  • 9:00 it's so cute!!

  • yum!

  • 5:52 What kind of dog is that?

  • @WiCkEdInS4nItY

    Not a dog, it's a pigmy goat.

  • @WiCkEdInS4nItY A dog? seriously? have you ever seen a dog with horns??

  • nice shot

  • @knifefight19

Sorry man, I guess i meant dislexic now.

  • @knifefight19

That was a front leg dipshit!!

  • Can you make a video of your goats

  • Fascinating video. Never seen something like this before. Interesting to see.

  • how do u skin a rabbit

  • why was it moving still?

  • how can u tell if the squirrel has rabies and can u eat it if it does

  • the goat wanted some loving good video

  • do you have to have a scope to hnt

  • @xXRiskyM112Xx

Definately not!! But on a .22 rifle it does help alot.

  • nice

  • Did you cut his dick off at 2:49?!

  • is that the marlin model 60??

  • @gabegrant1

    Nope. Marlin .22

  • where do you hunt?

  • @airsofter652

We live and hunt in southwest Michigan.

  • how do they taste?

  • @MultiPlinker

    Better than chicken!

  • I'd rather eat the goat. Looks like it has a lot more meat than the squirrel. Id have to eat like 10 squirrels anyway lol.

  • @neosquid: actually, one fried squirrel with rice n gravy made with flour is a good meal.

if you send me a message, i can give you a recipe.

  • when it was wigling did it feel it?

  • @BeatleGirl900

No. This squirrel was killed with a head shot. The twitching was a nervous reflex that sometimes happens during death.

  • @wyttale oh ok thats good

  • do you ever feel bad about killing them?

  • @themusic928

I don't feel bad about killing them. Although I do respect the animal as a food source and for providing my family with a meal.

  • @wyttale Not that im judging man, but why did u just hold it while it was thrashing and still alive, why wouldn't you finish it off faster?

  • @OffspringFTW65 That squirrel was shot in the brain. Any movement was nervous impulses. Squirrel felt no pain.

  • @wyttale What makes you so sure you hit it in the part of the brain that senses brain? Or even in the brain at all? That can't seriously be your explanation...

  • @OffspringFTW65 Dude, you're an idiot. Seriously!! "the part of the brain that senses brain?" What a moron you must be. By simple comparison, a .22 high velocity hollowpoint in the brain of a squirrel would be close to putting a 30.06 through your brain!! Tell me again if you would feel any pain?? If you're here just to be an absolute ass, at least be an educated one!!

  • @wyttale IM not trying to be an Ass, why do you feel so insecure because of my comments? but Id like to know how you can be so sure of your accuracy that when that squirrel is squirming around you KNOW it doesnt feel a thing, sure what you say makes sense but why would you only put one bullet in? What's wrong with making sure it's dead? Are you afraid of having to pull out an extra pellet or some shattered bones? Im just asking bro, you wouldn't act like this in person would you??

  • Very nice, im gonna try this technique next time. GREAT

  • nice job and awsome

  • Remember folks:Sharp knives make it so much easier no matter what you're skinning.

  • I cut through the tailbone, leaving the tail attached to the body & use that to peel the skin off.I also cut the middle of the back & peel in both directions but tail pulling works faster & easier for me.

  • I love the goat lmfao!

  • man u is right sqirrel skin is tuff i had a time skin mine wit i shot cause i broke his tell pulling it lolx..with me i did mess with the poop i just sling the squirrel real fast so the guts real fly out

  • man u is right sqirrel skin is tuff i had a time skin mine wit i shot cause i broke his tell pulling it lolx

  • I felt bad when you threw the skin away :P

  • @lightheartedVIII

    I don't eat the skin.

  • @wyttale The fur was nice. Don't think with your tummy.

  • @wyttale Great video! May I know, how you could use the skin? May I ask, if you have used any skin to... cover something or to decorate something. Can one make gloves from the skin?

    Bests from Hungary

    Gergely

  • tony sounds awesome

  • I tried this......spilled the guts and got fur all over the carcass. Gota be an earier way.

  • @dyffykins Squirrels are very tough to skin. I have been trying other methods than the one in the video. When I find one that works well, I'll post a new video of it!! Thanks for your comments.

  • @wyttale try blowing air under the skin with a needle. it separates the skin from the meat.

  • nice video

  • in my opinion jus making small cut on its spine and peeling in opposite directions is much easier

  • quick tip dnt pick em up if theyre kicking i got 8 stitches and 4 shots quit goat

  • quick tip dnt pick em up if theyre kicking i got 8 stitches and 4 shots

  • Hahah - loving the goat helping out ;)

  • ive got that same knife

  • do a revew on your guns. i have a few wepons the same as u

  • well done, I loved the comic relief provided by the goat! I tried to skin 2 squirrels following this video, but couldn't pull back the skin by stepping on the tail as shown. Don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I learned that squirrels are VERY tough to skin! whew! Get a sharp knife, people!

  • Sharp knife helps

  • Dont send Tony throw a stick or rock on other side save him the trip

  • would you suggest a bigger knife or smaller knife

  • holy fuck, decent size of squirrel!

  • @TRISTANJAYY cant beat a ruger 10/22

  • Does Squirrel taste good?

  • @1TomAhs1 Yes indeed. Thats if you fry it properly

  • @1TomAhs1 not much meat but delitious lol if u get 3 or 4 u can have a nice little meal.

  • 6:00 LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMFGGGG

  • thats a nice way of doing it, i will have to try that, i allway used the split back way of skinning, which leaves me with 2 little pelts, your way leave a larger pelt, will have to give it a try. nice video

  • sharpen the knife

  • what if u kill a bird or a squirrel and u dont wana eat it should i just burry them so they wont make all my back yard stinck

  • Is that a goat that keeps coming into the shot?

  • Great video man! im gonna give this method a try this coming weekend.

  • I'm thinking the first time I saw the goat "Is that his dog or is that a small goat?" o.0

  • whats kind of knife would you suggest for this? because i just have a little gerber switchblade

  • @wolffoxtodd

That would probably work if it was sharp!!

  • @wolffoxtodd That could work. it depends on the sharpness of the blade and the size. small knives are easier to use, but if your traditional like me, you could make a bowie knife work, it would just take a little bit more time. If you have a folding knife make sure the lock is strong. I prefer fixed blades and bowie knives for hunting

  • @wolffoxtodd i use a buck knife they work great for squirrel and rabbit. switchblades and butterfly knives arnt really ment for skinning.

  • wow u make it look like its fucking brain surgury

  • @drflkh16

He did say he was going to go through all the steps. I'm sure if he was just hunting for himself he would have done it quicker

  • @IggyZadr

Thanks man. I appreciate you getting my back. I can actually have this squirrel skinned and gutted in under 5 minutes. Was taking it slow to show the steps. But it's all good.

  • can you make a video o how to set up a snare?

  • skin em before lunch!

  • Hes got little fur boots 6:30

  • after you get me cleaned if your campin out take and wrap the meat in tin foil (after you have washed him in creek water or something) and put it in the coals of your camp fire with a little bbq sause and let it cook till its done, thats my favorite way to cook one
