The LFA is quicker than the 458 and is better handling than the 599. I mean, the differences between the LFA and those other cars is so slim it's simply a matter of taste at that level. To say that it doesn't even come close to them and is more on par with a Ford Focus or a Nissan 370Z is just stupid.

@MaxwellReviresco - It just doesn't justify its price. At first, they weren't even sold out. As soon as the GT2 RS was announced and even before, it was sold out. Why cause there is nothing like a Porsche product. They rate as one of the most reliable brands in the world. Just check CR for that. I don't see anyone else getting 500 RELIABLE horsepower out of a 6-cylinder. For a pure enthusiast, track car, daily car, and quality sports/super car, sorry but Porsche does it the best. Period.
Both are limited editions though. Lexus are only going to make 500 of the LFA and Porsche will make the same of the GT2 RS. LFA has already sold out and so has the GT2 RS.
Both are good in their ways. It's two of the best car makers do what they do best.

While this is Lexus first attempt at a supercar...so no one will really know till down the road about the reliability of the LFA. As far as to justify a price, I think it's largly a matter of opinion really. Many cars can do wut Porsches do & do it for a lot less, but lack the intiror fit & finish. Many can't "justify" 30-80k for leather & a name too, but I hear wut ur saying though.

Besides Lexus picks out who gets to buy the car or not. And they actually lose money on each LFA they sell. Even though I like the LF-A a whole lot more than this GT2 RS. This GT2 RS is definitely faster. As it has a significant power to weight ratio advantage over the LF-A. GT2 RS = 620HP weighs 3020lbs. The LF-A =552 HP and weighs 3400lbs roughly. So the question is. Why is it that the driver could not win every race in the Porsche??
@V8Supercar1 the LF-A has launch control and a quicker gearbox. The Porsche also has launch control but it's difficult to shift as fast as the Lexus with a traditional manual gearbox. Also, the Porsche can get laggy while the Lexus has a smoother powerband.
@wideopen704 Totally incorrect mate,the Porsche invented the TipTronic gearbox and both would shift nearly the same.
For me it all came down to the drivers and both were useless and you could clearly see they have no stage experience and even less drag time between them,these cars would both have lag as they are turbo so they should be reasonably even at the end if you had to STIGS driving.

Why the inside line editors insist that the LFA is a good supercar, maybe is a good supercar against a Ford focus or a 370Z, but can't keep up with regular supercars like GT-R or GT2 RS or SLS or 458, 599 etc........, those guy must be working for toyota, 2 lost guys!!!!

@gutjos Where do you get your information? I'm not a fanboy, but at least make a claim that's somewhat in the ballpark of being true. The LFA is quicker than the 458 and is better handling than the 599. I mean, the differences between the LFA and those other cars is so slim it's simply a matter of taste at that level. To say that it doesn't even come close to them and is more on par with a Ford Focus or a Nissan 370Z is just stupid.

That Toyota LFA is the biggest joke I've ever seen....I mean are they KIDDING me w/ that price? $375,000+ - OK I'll take a GTR @ $90,000 that's nearly a 1/2 second quicker in the 1/4 mile, then I'll take a Vette ZR1 @ less than 1/3 the price w/ nearly DOUBLE the torque and 80 more hp and better suspension, then I'll for when I'm feeling exotic I'll throw in a lambo gallardo for $190,000 and I'll have spent about the same that the LFA costs and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY CHEAPO CARS would KILL it!!!!

This isn't a fair comparison + TOYOTA cannot take full credit for the LFA. Under its hood is a YAMAHA V10 ...just an FYI. Being the biggest auto maker in the world with deep pockets, TOYOTA is able to spend millions of dollars by hiring outside engineers and make a toy on the side. that doesn't prove anything. anyway. this car is for multi millionaire and the rest of the world to just watch and drool. I think toyota is extremely jealous of the GTR's specs + 1/5 the price of the LFA.

I thought the GT2 RS had a launch control. Even if it didn't, it's 9.8sec to 200km/h. Way too much for the LFA to handle.

@IPGAuto although some of those statements may be true the LFA is a gorgeous car, and far from a Toyota. It's almost completely meant for the track...it's one of the most, if not they most high tech car meant for a track that & Lexus is still takin a loss on the car...which should prove exactly how much tech went into such a brilliant car that. It's completely customizable over 30 billion possible configurations...which toyota allows u to have the only car of it's kind in the world? ;-)

@MaxwellReviresco - It just doesn't justify its price. At first, they weren't even sold out. As soon as the GT2 RS was announced and even before, it was sold out. Why cause there is nothing like a Porsche product. They rate as one of the most reliable brands in the world. Just check CR for that. I don't see anyone else getting 500 RELIABLE horsepower out of a 6-cylinder. For a pure enthusiast, track car, daily car, and quality sports/super car, sorry but Porsche does it the best. Period.

Both are limited editions though. Lexus are only going to make 500 of the LFA and Porsche will make the same of the GT2 RS. LFA has already sold out and so has the GT2 RS.
Both are good in their ways. It's two of the best car makers do what they do best.

@IPGAuto True Porsche is most def up there & they have many years of examples to prove or not their reliability. While this is Lexus first attempt at a supercar...so no one will really know till down the road about the reliability of the LFA. As far as to justify a price, I think it's largly a matter of opinion really. Many cars can do wut Porsches do & do it for a lot less, but lack the intiror fit & finish. Many can't "justify" 30-80k for leather & a name too, but I hear wut ur saying though.

@IPGAuto Maybe because Porsche has been making higher end cars a lot longer then Lexus/Toyota has? Just because it sells out, does not make it a better car. Besides Lexus picks out who gets to buy the car or not. And they actually lose money on each LFA they sell. They don't rate as the most reliable brand, Honda/Acura is still number one on that list, with a majority of the list being Asian cars.

Corvette kicked its ass. LF-A is fucking hopeless over priced Toyota. The LF-A costs almost twice a Ferrari 599 thus making it not worth it. While I admire its motor and an LF-A in yellow :P its not worth its high price for me. Enzo costs 1mil cause its no longer made. Rare. Best Ferrari imo, made.

@DaveXCR800 Which Porsche ran 11.6? Cuz if I remember right the GT2 RS is low 11's & into 130's MPH. Not saying the driver can't blow the lauch bad/shift or that the computer nanies couldn't kick in and take power away resulting in an 11.6 time...but this car is far too fast to run 11.6's unless something like those terms happened.

Even though I like the LF-A a whole lot more than this GT2 RS. This GT2 RS is definitely faster. As it has a significant power to weight ratio advantage over the LF-A. GT2 RS = 620HP weighs 3020lbs. The LF-A =552 HP and weighs 3400lbs roughly. So the question is. Why is it that the driver could not win every race in the Porsche??

@V8Supercar1 the LF-A has launch control and a quicker gearbox. The Porsche also has launch control but it's difficult to shift as fast as the Lexus with a traditional manual gearbox. Also, the Porsche can get laggy while the Lexus has a smoother powerband.

@wideopen704 Totally incorrect mate,the Porsche invented the TipTronic gearbox and both would shift nearly the same.
For me it all came down to the drivers and both were useless and you could clearly see they have no stage experience and even less drag time between them,these cars would both have lag as they are turbo so they should be reasonably even at the end if you had to STIGS driving.

Another thing is the LFA has a naturally aspirated engine, so yes, it will have a smoother power band than the Porsche. I have no idea where you are getting your info.

Porsche has a Variable Vein Geometry Turbo which virtually eliminates turbo lag and second LFA has a "non-turbo" V10, please stop spouting nonsense.

I was under the assumption that all Porsche manual gear boxes are of high quality and easy to shift, easy to use the clutch etc. Maybe this guy should have attempted to power shift it at least once. @lamdo23tech The GT2 is a great car, lighter and more powerful than the LFA. The LFA won was because of lack of good driving from the GT2 driver. Doesn't mean the LFA is bad, it is just that based on the numbers, GT2 should win.
