can anybody help one day i woke up and saw a tadpole like thing it was completley white in my tank my dalmation mollie has been fat for about 2 months now could this be one of her young if so should i put her in the breeder cuz im not sure in case it kills her please help
@johnnyfisalive how u can tell that a molly is pregnant is that she will b really fat and sometimes there is a dark spot near the tail. How u can tell a male from a female is that on the females their fins are more ROUNDER and on the males the fins are more STRAIGHT.
I got a Dalmatian Molly and I think she might be pregnant... I'm not sure but that's what I'm trying to figure out... I guess you could consider her fat, but she has a red splotch on her stomach, every once in a while her fins will go down and she will wiggle. Idk what's wrong!! Plz help!!
I have 3 females with 2 males, but one is bigger and more dominant but very gentle. One female (I believe my orange lyretail) had 20 fry and I got all of them in a baby net. They are doing well. They aren't from my dominant male though, I think she was pregnant when I bought her but she didn't really show it. In that case all the babies should be lyretails. Now all 3 of my females (Lyretail, Black, and dalmation) are pregnant. I love mollies :)
Male are different to females, you can easily tell by putting them into a different tank and selecting them 1 by 1, the females wll have bigger butt holes and a larger gap 'below' that the males. Also the males should be able to ejaculate sperm into the water when there are eggs near it.
you're really not supposed to but mollies in breeders, even if she's about to give birth. this stresses her out, and she may abort the fry, even this close to the birth.
@derekisafruit Right before she is about to have it. Putting the fish into a breeder like that can stress them out, which could potentially lead to early birth, which means they could be stillborn. So if you wait until you see one or two babies in the tank, that would be the ideal time to put her into the breeder.
please i need help! when one of my mollies gets pregnant it dies, can you please tell me what to do to prevent this. like do i have to put here in a separate place or something please help me! thank you anyone.
hi to all! just wanted to know and need your advice. i have the same dalmatian molly and i think shes prego but i dont know how long been shes prego. can any one tell me what are the signs thats shes going to deliver??? when do i need to put her in breeding tank? please i need some help. im just new of fishing thing. thanks.
How long do you have to keep the molly in the breeder and do you still keep the baby mollies in the breeder without the mom ? Plz reply bceuz my molly might be pregnant and i haz da supplies for it
@MrFishbreeder i have a community tak so they will be in a net type with plants gravel and i will realease in about 4-5months are yrs alive now if so how did u rase em
what do you call the place where the fish gave birth? i want to buy like that. what is that called is it called fish tank separator or something related? pls. reply my molly is giving birth soon
wow how many babies do these fish tend to have as i baught some only had them a few hours wen i woke up i found fry in my tank but could only find 6 alive hiding among the plants and 1 of my mollies had died :(
@AntiBookReader You kind of have to judge it. It takes some experience, but if you look at their belly and it looks close to bursting right open, then the Molly will give birth soon.
@sharonthepixie so i should not put the adult in at all plus havent seen the baby since and the female is still fat

@mattfishman123 There were 54 babies

how much did it have'
mattfishman123 1 year ago
I think the first question means how do you know when the Molly is big enough/ready to give birth.
dirtbikekid, we found that black, dalmation/marble, white and other types of Molly will attempt to breed together.
drumantic64 1 year ago
will black mollies and dalmation mollies breed?
