@Th0mas457 Yeah I don't know what I'm talking about. I'm just a national athlete in weightlifting in my country. My coach is just a national treasure. Now I'm just a strength and conditioning coach in SJSU. Yup I'm the stupid fuck.
@Th0mas457@luyaofa is correct. this is bad technique in many instances. too much forward lean at the bottom and no mention of arm/ear alignment. this dude is worthless in all his exercise videos.
Hey my friend: I have a question: Is it possible to get cut and lose weight without aerobic exercises but just with basic weight training? The thing is that i am antisocial and i hate to jog and walk around my house. So i instead would like to add 2 more sets to each exercise to burn more calories. (I own a home gym here at home, because i am antisocial, i hate commercial gyms). Any comments would be greatly appreciated....
course you can, thats what i did, i went from a fat kid to a fairly big teenager, then lost heaps of weight by going hard with martial arts and cross training with weights. to lose weight (uncover muscle) i work the big groups (legs, upper body in a chin up, push ups etc) if you want to get properly fit then get a skipping rope and a boxing bag and some gloves and go hard at them. but otherwise, do lots of reps, do 100 squats, 100 press ups, 200 sit ups, as many chin ups as you can. just go hard
Hips go too far back. Dip is too deep and stalls at the bottom. Rack position on the shoulders is poor-to-none. Explanation is poor. On the video he says, "...using your hips drive the weight forward" is incorrect; driving the weight forward is one of the most common PROBLEMS seen during the execution of the push press. If the weight in the video was heavier - i.e. a true training load and not just a demo load - these problems would cause him to stagger around like a drunken sailor.
too deep of a knee bend, too much forward lean, It's a push press though, not a push jerk. A push jerk is with a jump under, that doesn't happen here....
asubsk you kiddin me? this guy is an ass and yes he is only demonstrating, but arent these videos about demonstrating CORRECTLY?? I have seen about 25 videos of this guy and 4 have been good form and they were the most basic of movements like jumping jacks and pushups. If you asked this guy what a sideplank was I think he might shit his pants.
I don't do this exercise that way. I do it as if I would do the jerk, except with no splits. In other words, I jump when I do push press. You can handle more weight this way.
Graedy I was thinking the same thing. I think he needs to focus on bending the knees more and not bending with the hips so much - doing that would lead to the forward lean of the torso, and yeah, if he went for a heavy single the bar would slide forward.
technique was fine, thanks mate.

good god that is the worst clean form I have seen in awhile. Elbows down, back curved, basically turned it into an upright row.
elbows should be pointing FORWARD, bar on shoulders instead of resting on the wrists. No explosion, looks like just a cheated military press.
Horrible horrible....

he'd make less of an ass of himself if he pulled the weight from the rack.
corrmick 5 years ago
If he did the push press with so much forwardlean with heavier weights the weight would just fall of.
But the explanation was ok.

No real leg drive, not really a push press.

the shoulders.
