We were using music because we had only gotten the Christmas music a few weeks before. We do normally memorize it, but this year we were just running a little behind schedule, that's all. It's not the end of the world because we had music for songs that we had two weeks to practice. I'd rather have music than to have it not sound quite as great.
When Mr. Mason was the band director at Riverside Jr High, he never let us us music, we had to memorize the music and the Riverside had a great band, and the majorettes were good too. They even had bell players, three girls that marched with bell girl outfits on, and they were good.
i like the MORganettes and Joni being miss pronounced. oooooooo and this might just be me but the fact that more that half of the band had gone by and you could still hear the trumpet solo from that far back

Well I guess I'm a bit bias because my kid is in the band...but they truly were the BEST :)
