This phone is incredible. Had it for a month now. I have to say, I have not experienced any problems at all. Not even a software glitch. The design is amazing, the build quality is very durable, the screen is bright, I've never had a signal drop (my signal bar barely even dips), its one of the more powerful top end smart phones, the camera quality is immense. Honestly, I could not have asked for a better phone. I will even say its the best one I've ever had (still love my old K750i though haha).
Looks cool, but my only concern is that buldgy part that houses the camera. I do not think it would provide a good grip, but I could be wrong. Hey motorola, what is the retail price of this beast? My budget is around 800USD [40000INR], and I would really appreciate a launch price of it in India.
I have this phone. It has little to no affect n grip. I don't even realise its there most of the time (in my opinion, that slight bulge makes it stand out more as a more stylish phone too).
@ajconsultants Google owns Motorola. Motorola needs to focus on building good devices and Google will populate said devices with software and services.

@motorola can the lapdock for motorola atrix be used on the motorola razr? i currently own a motorola atrix and lapdock. wanna sell of the atrix and get the razr. but will the atrix lapdock work on razr? dont want to buy another lapdock. answer asap thanks alot!
@hohoho995 Thanks for your question. The current lapdock is inot compatible with the new RAZR, but the two new lapdocks have been designed with forward compatibility in mind. Thanks.
@roberto13v Well lots of debate online, but advanced offers more pixels per inch, truer colour representation, and less battery consumption.... or if you are so inclined, the screen on RAZR just looks gorgeous.
@Atropa19 You would need a few more layers of KEVLAR for that, but the tensile (break point) strength of the device has been measured at upto 10 x that of the traditional polycarbonate found on the vast majority of phones. Thanks.
@motorola i have the following questions, how much is the price in £? And when shall we see the ICS update on it? And when is it shipping to the middle east(oman) (if you know)
Thanks and i hope you reply because im looking forward on getting this device.
@Xavi997 well its selling SIM FREE from about £450. No confirmed actual date for ICS other than to update device next year. I don't have details for Oman currently, but stay tuned. Thanks for your interest.
@Xavi997 The Motorola Razr features a 4.3-inch display, this time using Super Amoled HD technology at a higher resolution of 540x960 pixels, which naturally gives a higher pixel density of 256ppi, compared to GalaxyS2. Thanks.
i felt a demo of this today.. it doesnt fell like it looks. here it looks really tough and glossy. but the demo version they had out felt like cheap thin plastic and seemed very flimsy. not tough at all. if you dropped it from i would guess 5 in. it would probably shatter. also the Kevlar felt cheap not tough just felt like plastic. so i wouldnt get this. im getting an upgrade and i could get this just i dont want to.
@wondermonkey98 Either you held a "dummy" phone, or you haven't actually held a device at all since there is not one independent review that hasn't marveled over the design and materials. Thx.
@motorola by what do you mean a dummy phone. cause i felt the models they had out at three different verizon stores. do u mean the non active ones they have out. cause in that case(if i were you) i would request they put an active real model out like the iphone does. cause i watched some other people who were looking at the phone in the store and they said the the same thing. so i dont know how the active one feels but the "dummy" phones send away alot of customers. thx.
@motorola im trying to say it didnt feel as i thought it would based on the looks in this commercial and the stats it has with the gorilla glass and kevlar. so i dont know if u mean the "dummy" phone. but having the show model feel like that i checked it off the list of phones i was looking at cause i didnt even want to take the time to research that. btw i think its cool that you leave the comments open on this and reply to the people that have questions.
@wondermonkey98 Thanks for your consideration and feedback on your retail experience. We will pass this to our colleagues in the US, as its important that consumers do understand that the actual product experience and material is exceptional. Kind regards....
@wondermonkey98 I've bought the RAZR and I can assure you it isn't cheap on materials at all. It's the most well built smartphone on the market, never seen such quality since RAZR V9 (not even iPhone 4.).
You probably held a Samsung Galaxy.
Thumbs up, hands and feet, for Motorola this time.
@Zentrius Its a 1780 mAH battery, that had to be specifically designed for the phone to retain thinness. The non 4G model, that is selling everywhere outside of the US, is quoted as upto 600mins talk time and upto 324hrs standby (usual legals applying)
@samjpullen The Motorola Razr features a 4.3-inch display, this time using Super Amoled HD technology at a higher resolution than Samsung Galaxy S2, of 540x960 pixels, which naturally gives a higher pixel density of 256ppi. Thanks
@motorola Yes but it also uses a PENTILE screen, The GS2 does not and due to that the screen has a higher resolution that the specs show.. i am sure you know what that means... The Razr should have had 720p to make it recent, qHD just isnt worth it, Check my Galaxy Nexus video to see what a real screen looks like at 720p :)
i get android phones more often then movies come out or games come out.... i just want to say every phone ive had is great from android but i prefer motorola... ive had the droid droid 2 3 bionic droid x x2 ive had it all and in my opinion it is better..... i get every phone that comes out for verizon but i just have 1 complaint... the battery life isnt as good as like the iphone for example.. i like motorola because the battery life is better than samsung and htc and all the other brands
I just got mine on launch day at Verizon 11.11.11 and I gotta say this by far the sexiest, fastest, best phone I've ever laid my little grubby paws on! :)
This is a hands down complete iPhone "Killer" I just can't wait to see this sexy baby get ICS in a few months. Thanks Motorola for bring back the classy style of the best line of phones ever "The RAZR" ... *Gawd I love this phone!
You should really show more of those advertisements, e.g.oin TV in different countries!
Indeed an amazing phone, gorgeous and beautiful hardware! And maybe even better software when the Ice cream sandwich update arrives. BTW, will the same custom UI remain on top of ICS, will it be modified or even left out?
@motorola You should make a video of shooting the fibre layer or maybe even the entire phone and shooting an iphone to prove its 10x stronger than other phones.
@Motorola Will you guys be implementing the use of Kevlar and SAMOLED in future devices? I cannot wait to see what you guys have in store for CES 2012
the thing about kevlar is that it is difficult to break through but surprisingly easy to puncture. i've seen it time and time again. because kevlar is woven, that means that strands can be pushed aside by narrow or sharp objects. i wouldn't reccomend it to cover something as delicate as the technology inside a phone, but more something that is vulnerable to larger objects instead. i would not buy this phone to be completely honest.
@motorola lol... yea... but it takes many many layers of it being crossed over each other to be bulletproof... a few layers is not gonna do much... and in this case your gonna coat it with a resin to harden it... so... it's just gonna be like any plastic... just a lil more flexible...
@LimYQS Wrong again, I'm afraid. The tensile strength of the layers of fibre we have used have been measured at upto 10 x the tensile strength of normal polycarbonate used in 90% of phones manufactured. Thanks.
@motorola yes i am well aware. however that is fine and dandy for blunt objects (bullets for instance) but if somebody has a small, relatively sharp object in their pocket maybe a safety pin or something? it's conceivable that it could be punctured quite easily. there is a video on youtube that demonstrates the concepts, just look up shear thickening fluid armor. it shows how sharp objects easily puncture woven kevlar.
@motorola in addition, if the kevlar used is treated somehow or you can enlighten me as to qualities of the kevlar used or other factors (i'm hoping you get my point), that i have overlooked, don't hesitate, and i will apologize for my mistake. however, i was just trying to make a point that kevlar is good for protection against blunt objects but not so much for sharp/pointy object, many of which you may find in everyday life.
This phone has several things that are amazing, but the UI wrapper (Blur) and the locked bootloader are the main things I dislike about it. Hope more manufacturers follow suite in formfactor.
