  • @TITOMARTINO I learned what brothel means from Assassin's Creed. XD

  • Fats Waller was born in Pasaic New Jersey in a Video Store

  • i checked Thelonious Monk's version and had to see the original

  • I don't think you can listen to Fats and not be in at least a slightly better mood than before you did...

  • One person can't work his touch-pad.

  • As fresh, infectiously catchy and fun today as it was over 75 years ago!

  • I bet Lulu gave some bomb head haha

  • Al Capone !

  • 1 person disliked this

    1 person is weird

This is too great of a song to dislike.

  • Lulu must be quite a gal.

  • Oooh :D

    Great.

  • I love Fats.

  • Wonderful, very cheerful. :)

  • Code Geass R3 in a nutshell...

  • This song is from the Fats Waller film "King of Burlesque." Released as Victor 25211, this recording reached #8 on the charts over a ten week run starting June 22, 1935.

  • lulu was the mon of this 1 deslike

  • I used to mountain bike. And when I would go down this one particular mountain, this recording would run through my head. The rhythm, the joy of it, I can't explain it. It just fit. Fats Waller may be the single most underated musician of the 20th century.

  • this song is my jam.

  • Amazing...

  • How about someone posting "if this isn't love you'll just have to wait for the real thing to come along". One of my all time Favorites of Fats and it aint here!

  • @693qqqsatr it's on youtube, search "Until the real thing comes along"

  • great stuff.. Fats died to young and missed the renaissance of Television and Stereo so never gets the worship of Ellington, Astaire, Pops, etc... giant

  • I wa so lucky to be completely exposed to all traditional jazz through the great Leo Rayhill from Syracuse NY. The public radio station there. He exposed me to among hundreds of great recordings, the great magnificent Fats Waller. What a great light he shown on America. This was America in those great days of the Republic.

  • wonderful!

  • My dad raised me on Fats and I love him to this day!

  • YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Thanks For the Post. Awesome!

  • i've listened around, seems like no one does it like Fats! Swingin' hard, and that piano can"t be touched! And the fun!

  • A timeless song. I enjoy this song and I'm around 30.

  • is this true that Lulu was slut?

  • @Pentagonshark666 tiene toda la pinta

  • @Pentagonshark666 No, but it's clear that you're a sexist moron.

  • @Pentagonshark666 Sloot, not slut.

  • @Pentagonshark666 No, my dear, she was a brothel madam,

Lulu White, owner of the famous Mahogany Hall in New Orleans.

  • Fats Waller singing Lulu's Back In Town in 1935.

  • Dag, I think grandad may have been on this one, Jacob Greene on tromboe.

  • Fats Waller is a legend, his piano were outstading and his style of sining

    is timeless.

  • Green Tea, you are the man. Fats Waller classic... my personal favorite. Gotta love the intro, Al Casey strumming on guitar, Fats just enjoying himself, followed by classic stride and walking tenths, and then the vocal and the band. Simply amazing.
