iTunes Won't Back Up iPhone 4

All I did is delete the file and itunes automaticly brought up the tutorial once it was open and synced, then

I right clicked on my device and saw the option for back up, selected it, and in no time it was complete.

My iTunes doesnt even pop up when I ug my phone in I have to open it myself and it says backing up but just freezes you no how to fix it ?

HELP did it all and still not fixed i think it has something to do with my cousin jail breaking his phones ruined his and now i cannot back up. i pasted it on terminal and restarted the mac three times right now. any suggestions?

Uuh, I want to jailbreak my Iphone, but it advices me to make back up first. I did it manually, my concern is that I read somewhere that every time I connect my phone to Itunes it makes back up automatically and I dont want it, cauz I want to make only one back up before I jailbreak my phone, can someone help me :|
