WHOA SORRY DIDNT MEAN TO POST 3 TIMES., DONT GET ME WRONG I REALLY LIKE THE ACR\MASAADA GREAT GUN. IM JUST STATING THE FACTS, THE TEST WONT DESTROY A M16\M4 THAT IS CONVERTED TO GAS PISTON.
I'd like to see a side-by-side head-to-head video of this against the HK 416. That'd probably clear up some of the questions about which is better in my opinion. I haven't used either *tears* but both do seem to have their likes and dislikes for everyone.
I still haven't found any information on the new ACR, Magpul had a fantastic design, the biggest selling point for me was the weight, but the ACR's that Bushmaster are selling have lost the appeal because they are 8 pounds without a mag, does anyone know why the gun is heavier, all that is said is it was squared away.
@NatedogJr Rangers are not Special Forces, Special Forces (SF) are Special Forces (SF), Rangers are considered Special Operations Forces (SOF). Everything else was correct.
@CynicalNsomniac The ACR uses a piston driven system (which the AKs also use), which can take more stress than the direct impingement systems which the M16/M4 uses. However there are complex drawbacks to piston systems as well so that is why the military never actually switched their M4's to piston guns.
@chairsofter1911 very good point direct impingement is so simple its very easy to repair and the bolt and extractor where the only susceptible to the abuse of the m4 which in the bcm test were the only things to fail in the 35000 rounds they fired in the same gun and those and only minor things that can be held in the guns storage grip with this the gun will last you your entire life probably will with nothing for most people even at those extreme round counts cause they only got semi auto
Hey, guys! Sorry for asking here, but I saw you are talking about the rangers. So, I know there are rangers' detachments, but as I understood from Discovery the people are trying to pass the cut just to recive the patch ranger and they go back to their previous service. Is that right or not?
@thracianglad there is the 75th ranger regiment and there is the ranger tab, they are different. Most men in the regiment have the tab. typically when people say rangers they are referring to the regiment, which is part of US Special Operations Command. Men who possess the tab but are not in the regiment are not special operations (unless they belong to a separate special operations unit).
I really like this weapon, could someone that made the video (not any armchair 'tubers) tell me where they have a review published? I would like to hear what THEY have to say.
The ACR is a good gun, but the US is more likely to use the HK416 because it's more similar to the M4 and M16. They don't want to have to reteach every soldier a new gun. That's why the HK416 will be the ACR in the Individual Carbine Test.
@ymmy cum in my tummy - i want (and I'm dam sure that every one else here who you are pissing off) a full detail on you. What guns you fire, what guns you own and what field experience you have.
Me - I own a Glock 17 for personal use.
I have fired - AR15's R1 and AK's and shot guns on the range
I have operated with AR15's and shot guns for entry purposes.
Listen : THE ACR ISN'T A MAGPUL WEAPON! the Magpul Masada was. and now ACR is from a different corp. they buyed the magpul masada license and now it's the ACR. BUT IT'S NO MAGPUL ACR
@ yummy cum in my tummy, I just watched your uploaded videos, this told me everything I needed to know. Finish picking your spots in the bathroom, then finish up your school homework, then mummy and daddy might let you play some computer games before you hit the web as an "expert"
trust me on this one guys....If you get sent off to war tomorrow being issued an ar15/m4/m16 carbine with a free float rail system, optics, weapon light, visible and infrared laser aiming module/illuminator combined with a gen 3 night vision monocular is about as well armed and equipped an individual soldier can get...and maybe even a m203...anyone that would pick a fucking ak47/74 over that is out of their minds or just too stupid to keep an AR platform weapon running.
@Archer2509 Yea? with AK 47 you don't need to worry about shit, just fucking use it, that's it, it hardly ever jams, just stfu you don't know shit about guns buddy
You're an idiot if you think the AK doesn't jam. How did you think the hollywood shootout ended? The AK jammed. All it needs is a flick of a hand to fix that. YOU are the ones who don't know shit about guns, buddy. I admit that the only firearm I fired is a pistol, but I know damn well the AK does have faults. Hell, buddy! It has been tested and the fucking XM8 jams even fucking less.
And DO go back to MW2. Your post in Op Métro and here made me sick!
I love all you guys that keep saying american guns are the best. The German H&K M416 is just as good as this, does all the same things. The AK has always been known for it reliability in any combat environment. For Every gun we make there is one of an equal capability elsewhere. I for one love my German firearms. I still have a spot in my heart for American firearms as well.
@Generalofmetal the 416 is actually made in Columbus Georgia, and much of H&K's production to include R&D is in the US also. Although its clear German engineering does produce quality weapons, much of the production got moved to the US to ease the pain of import/military contracting laws. As for the AK, you can lube it with dirt, but it is by no means accurate. I always find myself treading the fine line of having a reliable weapon, that has to be able to shoot.....enter the m14
@leoncarbon only if the gun is made for underwater and it has the right ammunition. some guns that are made for underwater can malfunction and jam or maybe broken beyond repair. Some guns however, can be amphibious such as the russian ADS dual medium. Russia makes most of the underwater guns
@Manslaya62 although i will agree it is a pretty badass rifle. i just had to stab at your thought that it was only cool cause it was made by the US. just cause something was made in the us doesnt make it instantly awesome.
@NirvashArchetype It won't. I've done something similar in Recon hundreds of times, and SEALs have done it thousands. Give it a few seconds to drain (especially the barrel) and you're fine.
@Manslaya62 my ass, Soviet weopons are so much better, put that ACR in mud, try to fire it, and that piece of shit will explode in your face, with the AK-47, you can submerge it in, water, mud, sand, or even cow shit, and it still will work with 100% reliability, It's the deadliest assault rifle in the world, and over all it's cheap, Americans might have fancy weapons, but the soviet don't give a shit about fancy.Holographic my ass, In russia we use iron sight. No recoil = Pussies
@yumiyumiinmytummy Russia uses the weapon systems it has because its a poor country and they can't afford to design, build, and maintain modern day fighting weapons.
@88warwolf DUH IT'S FUCKING POOR, the AK is so good that even today people use it, what's to lose? Perfect reliability, OK accuracy, Extremely deadly, and best of all it's super cheap. M16 and the ACR are piece of shits, you haven't even seen how frequently they jam. Oh so btw when you are in the battlefield and your shitty american made gun gets jammed to death, just tell the enemy to give you 5 minutes to repair it, he won't kill you or anything, lmao
@88warwolf "Weopns and fighting" What major fucking war di you see going on right now? none.YOU are the one who doen't know shit about guns, the ACR is a piece of shit. As well as the M16. Period
@yumiyumiinmytummy really? i have nearly 10 years close to 100,000 rounds and nearly 15 trips to the worlds finest private training facilities. probably close to 50 thousand rounds shooting the ar15/m16/m4 platform... if properly maintained they should run 100 percent. all the other guys m16/m4/ar15 platform rifles ran good too. what experience do you have and what firearms do you own? let me guess you are an expert from what you learned on the internet and tv and video games
@Archer2509 haha. I love these retards that think the fucking AK platform is the best thing going in the world of firearms....they are simple cheap easy to manufacture easy to maintain easy to operate budget weapons for cavemen.......
@88warwolf This is why so many countries today depend on the AK 47 even though it was designed for WWII.You are a complete fucking idiot my friend if you think that you can trust your life with a shitty ACR or m16, you don't know shit about guns, just keep your fucking mouth shut.
@yumiyumiinmytummy hey i realize that the ak series rifles are extremely reliable and easy to find but seriously its time to step into the 21st century. Honestly I have to agree with MrGuccikit you need to pull your head out of your *ss and grow up
@uiiiiop1234 Are you fucking stupid or what? You don't know shit about guns bitch, the afghan and the vietnam war have already proven that the AK 47 is a better weopom, what more proof do you need? 21 Century? You are a fucking retard, just shut up, the AK 47 is a universal assault rifle used today by many countries, and it was designed for ww2! if you can fucking handle a gun, then you can't hit shit with the AK 47, you can hit good with the ACR, but how are you gonna do it if it keeps jamming?
@yumiyumiinmytummy yeah and just what exactly do you know about guns your probably some pissed off ten year old who didn't get what he wanted for Christmas. you shouldn't go around spewing a bunch of crap out of your mouth at other people if you have never actually even seen a real firearm. why don't you go back to playing MW2 or something
@yumiyumiinmytummy wtf chill out man the acr is more relaible than the hk416 its more reliable than any gun you know and u should stop getting pissed off just cause someone stole ur care package
@TheRAZORBLADE99 LOL, no it's not sorry, the AK- 47 is the most reliable best assault rifle in the world, and I don't use care package noob I use 8-9-11, this isn't a fucking video game, we're talking reality.
@Archer2509 PFFF MY ASS, ACR is not more reliable than the AK 47, Period, you are just an idiot, no gun in the world is more reliable than the AK 47, go back to your video games CoD fag
"no gun in the world is more reliable than the AK 47" Heard of "AK-74M"? Heard of "AK-103"? Heard of "AKM"? Heard of "AK-105"? Those newer AK rifles are A FUCKLOAD MORE RELIABLE THAN THE SHITTY OLD '47.
And hey, "codfag"? You're the one bragging about "20 kills 3 deaths" in BF3, YOU'RE the one begging the question of the AK-47 being the most reliable rifle, I'm sorry, YOU'RE the CoD faggot.
@Archer2509 They are all the fucking same, YOU ARE A FUCKING IDIOT, can you stop talking about video games? we're talking about fucking reality, I fucking shot more guns than played video games, oh isn't it your bed time by the way?
@Archer2509 Lmao good comeback, and you are a CoD fag what can I say? And you just fucking proved what I'm talking about, Russian army uses the AK74M, the world uses the AK - 47
So I guess Bin Laden is still alive, huh? Stop trying to change the subject with your blatant bullshit, the older AK sucks and we ALL know it! It isn't accurate, it's heavy and it's NOT EVEN PRODUCED NOWADAYS.
ALL THESE PROBLEMS ARE FUCKING FIXED WITH THE NEWER MODELS.
@Archer2509 LOL What does that have to do with bin laden getting killed?? huh? terrorists were going up against SEALs, which are the world's 2nd most elite special forces unit. AND NOPE YOU'RE STILL A DUMB ASS, M16A1 - JAMS M16A2 - Still jams M16A3 - Jams M16A4 - SAME SHIT DIFFERENT DAY. I prefer the ACR over M16, but it doesn't mean it's better than an AK 47. You are a fucking idiot my friend, go to a shooting range, and I guarantee your "New model" Will still fucking jam.
@akredfox66 Negative, the SAS is damn badass, they are mentaly trained in such a hard way! They could kill you by looking at you, man! No but seriously.. SAS is harder than rangers. No argument needed!
@heilaff Sorry, that is the truth and it was what I was going to say, the world's most elite special forces is the SAS, they get the most riskiest classified missions of all special forces, RANGERS ARE NOT SPECIAL FORCES, YOU ARE SO FUCKING DUMB KID.
@yumiyumiinmytummy Special Operations Forces is the full term for Special Forces. Therefore Rangers are Special Forces, but not " United States Army Special Forces" which are Green Berets. Both 75th Ranger Regiment and United States Army Special Forces are part of the US Special Operation Forces, which is under the US Special Operations Command.
The SAS may be the world's most elite Special Forces, but they are not the only unit that undergo most risky/classified/clandestine missions.
@Archer2509 False, nope you are wrong, ACR is reliable but not in all environments, dip that gun in mud and it will still jam, dip in in water or cover it with sand or dirt, and it will operate, with the AK 47 You can do almost anything with it, drive over it smash it put in shit, and it will still operate, It is almost impossible to jam it, and even if you do jam it like I said, it's very easy to fix. So sorry, you are wrong AK 47 > ACR
Actually, I forgot about one thing, the aim of the ACR wasn't only reliability, but also adaptability and maneuverability... civilian model put much less emphasis on reliability and adaptability (ESPECIALLY adaptability), though.
Oh, PS. A 1911A1 pistol is more reliable than that shitty old AK-47.
There are no AK-47 left that's in good shape, the only AK-47s you usually see are replicas or knock-offs. Hell, even the newer AKs are lighter, more accurate and much more reliable than the old '47.
@Archer2509 LMFAO YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT. you can pick up a rusty ass ak 47 and it will still operate, it uses the same fucking operating system, just upgraded, so i'll say it again, you are a fucking retard.
I'd agree about both guns being reliable BUT the ACR is more updated. Other than that both guns haul ass. Even little kids in Africa haul ass with the AK.
Russians AK-103/105/AK-74 and its derivatives today ARE cheap and reliable, that I won't argue.
But the AR-15s today DON'T JAM LIKE THEY'RE IN VIETNAM ANYMORE. There's a REASON that it hasn't been replaced. And I've never heard jamming from an ACR owner except for a certain idiot who has problems with every gun.
The ACR shares characteristics and parts from other rifle such as the XM8, which jams LESS than an AK.
@Archer2509 Nope sorry, that's not true, they still jam, No diffrence between the M16a1 a2 a3 or the a4 and AR, all are shitty guns. The XM8 isa shitty shitty gun as well, it doesn't jam frequently, but when you have it in warfare enviroments, it won't stand a chance, even though it was made by heckler and koch which are known to make fairly reliable weopons. The AK 47 is the world's best assault rifle, what more to proof?
The same test wouldn't destroy a US Military infantry rifle (M4/M16). Many SF units use Colt AR15's (or variants of the same rifle) in water environments without an issue. Even suppressed varients have no issues with the right suppressor. I'm not saying the ACR, SCAR-L, or HK 416 aren't better, more reliable rifles... But the M4 is perfectly capable.
@pkasimov Actually they use several different weapons and if they do use a M4 in the water it has been highly modified. The colt is a pos for the the military pays for it.
@ssjrobert I have a factory built Stag Model 3 which has never complained about water. This coming snowfall I'll post a video of me throwing it into/filling with snow and firing without clearing the breach. I'd do water, but it's a bit cold for that right now...
@MrThomPS3 That is true... I wouldn't be too willing to fire it before a quick clearing of the water from behind the BCG or even from the barrel due to risk of hydrolock. I suppose that's where the advantage would come in with the ACR... Not to mention it's a pretty badass weapon already. Admittadly, though, I don't and probably will never have to fire my weapon directly after submersion... I'm no Navy SEAL lol.
The ACR was a collaborative project between Remington, Bushmaster, and Magpul. The ACR can shoot the NATO 5.56, or it can be slightly modified to shoot the Remington 6.8 mm SPC (Special Purpose Cartridge). By all accounts, the 6.8 is a far superior cartridge, but it's too costly to convert the entire military over to this new ammo right now. If it's as good as they say it is, the 6.8 Remington SPC will eventually become the new standard.
@MrCourseudo It's actually MANUFACTURED by Bushmaster and, I think, Remington. The design was developed by Magpul, where they made the Masada. The design was tweeked out a bit to produce what you have now, the Adaptive Combat Rifle.
The Navy Seals use M4s and are in water all the time and they don't have any problems. Just drain it before firing, I guess the new age of combat they think will be underwater?
I would think it would be nice if Bushmaster can just get the rifle working when it's dry, when it can fire 100% reliable in normal conditions then we can move to water tests. My friend has one and it's been worked on 2 times with no luck, now they claim to only fire .223 not 5.56, what a joke for $2000.
I'll take the ACR over the AR-15 platform anyday for a few reasons.
Being a left handed shooter, charging the rifle is very unatural compared to other designes like the Mini-14/M1A, SIG556, etc. I seriously did not like having to reach the back of the rifle and that I have to rely on a button for remedial actions despite it's what I'll be issued primarily. (I'll still learn the system.)
I also don't like sent gasses blasting in my face when using crappy ammo due to the DI system.
@MavHunter20XX The ACR is not even close to being reliable yet, the thing weighs over 8lbs, that is a joke. Maybe in a few years it will run better. They did have that recall also where the ACRs were firing full auto by accident. It's not a proven system yet. The Military will never choose this, way too heavy and way too expensive. I think reciporcation charging handles are complete nonsense, I had a sig 556 rifle and it was total garbage, $1700 and had to send it for repairs 3 times, junk.
@MavHunter20XX Have you ever owned an AR15? I've owned over a dozen over the last 18 years and never once had any trouble with gas blowing in my face.
@MavHunter20XX Since you're in the military that makes you an expert I guess, lets have a challenge, my AR15 at 100 yards open sights vs your mini 14 or SIG 556 with iron sights. Mini 14 LOL. What is your MOS in the "military"?
@semiautoriflelover1 First off, I don't go by MOS. I shoot enough to know what I like. I'm sure you're a better shooter w/ what you're comfortable with.
I used to have a mini-14 but sold it because it was front heavy and the accuracy left a lot to be desired, but I wasn't using the best ammo either and good cheap mags were hard to find.
Besides, I own a 91/30, and I'm looking foward to an M1A in the future.
And don't worry, I got expert w/ the M4 49 out of 50.
@semiautoriflelover1 Hey, I don't want to come off as a prick. My comments of preference are comming from the last time I fired the M4 Carbine. Despite I shot very well with it and there are some advantages to being a left handed shooter, I still had some issues compard to other rifles I've operated. Standard issued rifles suck in my opinion and a personal rifle will suit an individual better than one size fits all, but there's a lot to be said to master all platforms.
@MavHunter20XX But remember that us people in the US don't use the M4 and M16s that are worn out and junky, we have AR15s semiauto and they hardly ever jam at all, I have no sand 2000 miles near my state at all, The last time I had a jam with a AR15 was 10 years ago using crap wolf ammo that stuck in chamber. I never had that issue with the gas hitting me in the face and I wear contacts and have fired 3000-4000 rounds per year since 1995 through ARs. I get gas in the face with AKs if I oil tube
@semiautoriflelover1 Even w/ brand new mil spec AR-15's, they will still suck big in the hands of those who know what makes a good rifle w/ someone such as yourself. Tirgger sucks, handguard too big and heavy, better off grinding down the front sight post and attaching a BUIS, issued red dot too bulky and would do better w/ 2x magnification, grip is too small and don't allow for propper reach, ambi magazine release desired....
@MavHunter20XX you're a gucci gunner aren't you? If it works, run it. M4 works. I run it. it's really not that heavy. Who needs ambi release? more than one way of performing a function is just more to learn. Keep it simple. Why do you need a folding buis? I agree with grip reach and heavy the heavy KAC handguard, but hell it works how I need it to.
@verticallyblessed If you never fired a Mil-spec M4, you won't know what I'm talking about. And try doing a quick mag change left handed on an AR-15 /w bad levers, I have to reach for my mag, press the release with my thumb, then insert. When you can change something in your power that can give you and advantage, I feel it would be smart to do it.
That being said, basic mil-spec M4/M16 gets the job done, no more, no less, untill you neglect it.
@MavHunter20XX If I've never fired one? lol. Im not assuming to know your credentials, so please dont assume to know mine. I'm not sure why you'd have to do a left hand mag change, but it can easily be achieved with little training. Yes it takes longer. Probably about .5 seconds longer. And it's all done with the right hand. P.S. all M4's are 'mil-spec'. Saying mil-spec and M4 is like saying Tuna Fish, or Big Giant.
@verticallyblessed That's why I said IF you fired a milspec. However, when I say mil-spec I mean the same colt m4 the military distributes the issues of the US military w/o modifications to the trigger groupe, bolt carrier, etc. Once they change that it's no longer an M4.
I ment left hand mag change because I shoot left handed and the mag release on on the right side of the rifle, so I can't just press it with my index finger. And yes, I know it takes training, cuz I can't modify the M4.
@verticallyblessed Well that's why I said IF... said Milspec cuz not eveyone knows that M4 is a specific system w/ specific components and takes an act of congress (almost literally) to make changes, and when those changes are made, it's no longer called an "M4" by the military..
I said left hand mag change I ment that while keeping left hand on grip (cuz I shoot left handed) I use my right thumb to push the release button w/ magazine, not my left index finger for obvious reasons.
@MavHunter20XX well I dont think 'everyone' knows. but whatever. the left hand mag change is done only with a right hand. depress mag release with thumb and swipe out mag with hand (it's a pretty fluid motion) then grab a fresh one, stick it in, and reach underneath to other side, hit release with middle finger, and back on target. All while keeping butt stock in shoulder.
lol sorry always have caps lock on at work.

trust me on this one guys....If you get sent off to war tomorrow being issued an ar15/m4/m16 carbine with a free float rail system, optics, weapon light, visible and infrared laser aiming module/illuminator combined with a gen 3 night vision monocular is about as well armed and equipped an individual soldier can get...and maybe even a m203...anyone that would pick a fucking ak47/74 over that is out of their minds or just too stupid to keep an AR platform weapon running.
88warwolf 1 month ago
@Archer2509 Yea? with AK 47 you don't need to worry about shit, just fucking use it, that's it, it hardly ever jams, just stfu you don't know shit about guns buddy

@yumiyumiinmytummy

Generalofmetal 2 months ago 5
@Generalofmetal Its just a bit o' patriotism. :)
theoxtheory 2 months ago
@Generalofmetal the 416 is actually made in Columbus Georgia, and much of H&K's production to include R&D is in the US also. Although its clear German engineering does produce quality weapons, much of the production got moved to the US to ease the pain of import/military contracting laws. As for the AK, you can lube it with dirt, but it is by no means accurate. I always find myself treading the fine line of having a reliable weapon, that has to be able to shoot.....enter the m14

Noob question : can a gun fire UNDERWATER?
leoncarbon 2 months ago
@leoncarbon only if the gun is made for underwater and it has the right ammunition. some guns that are made for underwater can malfunction and jam or maybe broken beyond repair. Some guns however, can be amphibious such as the russian ADS dual medium. Russia makes most of the underwater guns

@NirvashArchetype It won't. I've done something similar in Recon hundreds of times, and SEALs have done it thousands. Give it a few seconds to drain (especially the barrel) and you're fine.
SSgt24thMEU 1 month ago
@Manslaya62 my ass, Soviet weopons are so much better, put that ACR in mud, try to fire it, and that piece of shit will explode in your face, with the AK-47, you can submerge it in, water, mud, sand, or even cow shit, and it still will work with 100% reliability, It's the deadliest assault rifle in the world, and over all it's cheap, Americans might have fancy weapons, but the soviet don't give a shit about fancy.Holographic my ass, In russia we use iron sight. No recoil = Pussies

@yumiyumiinmytummy
AK-47 sucks in almost EVERY category except "reliability and stopping power"
AK-74, AK-103 = Successor to the AKM, wins in EVERY category.
And have I told you that the '47 DOES JAM?
I can guarantee you, my ignorant friend, if use with the correct ammunition, the ACR jams even LESS than your AK.
Archer2509 1 month ago
@Archer2509 False, nope you are wrong, ACR is reliable but not in all environments, dip that gun in mud and it will still jam, dip in in water or cover it with sand or dirt, and it will operate, with the AK 47 You can do almost anything with it, drive over it smash it put in shit, and it will still operate, It is almost impossible to jam it, and even if you do jam it like I said, it's very easy to fix. So sorry, you are wrong AK 47 > ACR
yumiyumiinmytummy 1 month ago
@yumiyumiinmytummy
Actually, I forgot about one thing, the aim of the ACR wasn't only reliability, but also adaptability and maneuverability... civilian model put much less emphasis on reliability and adaptability (ESPECIALLY adaptability), though.
Archer2509 1 month ago
@yumiyumiinmytummy
Oh, PS. A 1911A1 pistol is more reliable than that shitty old AK-47.
There are no AK-47 left that's in good shape, the only AK-47s you usually see are replicas or knock-offs. Hell, even the newer AKs are lighter, more accurate and much more reliable than the old '47.
Archer2509 1 month ago
@Archer2509 LMFAO YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT. you can pick up a rusty ass ak 47 and it will still operate, it uses the same fucking operating system, just upgraded, so i'll say it again, you are a fucking retard.
yumiyumiinmytummy 1 month ago
@Archer2509
I'd agree about both guns being reliable BUT the ACR is more updated. Other than that both guns haul ass. Even little kids in Africa haul ass with the AK.
zizzy007 1 month ago
@yumiyumiinmytummy

But the M4 is perfectly capable.
pkasimov 2 months ago
@pkasimov Actually they use several different weapons and if they do use a M4 in the water it has been highly modified. The colt is a pos for the the military pays for it.

@ssjrobert I have a factory built Stag Model 3 which has never complained about water. This coming snowfall I'll post a video of me throwing it into/filling with snow and firing without clearing the breach. I'd do water, but it's a bit cold for that right now...
pkasimov 2 months ago
@pkasimov You are right, but they let there weapons drain all the water out before firing I believe, firing straight away isn't possible I believe.
MrThomPS3 2 months ago

If it's as good as they say it is, the 6.8 Remington SPC will eventually become the new standard.
domco2525 3 months ago
@MrCourseudo It's actually MANUFACTURED by Bushmaster and, I think, Remington. The design was developed by Magpul, where they made the Masada. The design was tweeked out a bit to produce what you have now, the Adaptive Combat Rifle.

The Navy Seals use M4s and are in water all the time and they don't have any problems. Just drain it before firing, I guess the new age of combat they think will be underwater?
semiautoriflelover1 3 months ago
I would think it would be nice if Bushmaster can just get the rifle working when it's dry, when it can fire 100% reliable in normal conditions then we can move to water tests. My friend has one and it's been worked on 2 times with no luck, now they claim to only fire .223 not 5.56, what a joke for $2000.
semiautoriflelover1 3 months ago
I'll take the ACR over the AR-15 platform anyday for a few reasons.
Being a left handed shooter, charging the rifle is very unatural compared to other designes like the Mini-14/M1A, SIG556, etc. I seriously did not like having to reach the back of the rifle and that I have to rely on a button for remedial actions despite it's what I'll be issued primarily. (I'll still learn the system.)
I also don't like sent gasses blasting in my face when using crappy ammo due to the DI system.
MavHunter20XX 3 months ago
@MavHunter20XX The ACR is not even close to being reliable yet, the thing weighs over 8lbs, that is a joke. Maybe in a few years it will run better. They did have that recall also where the ACRs were firing full auto by accident. It's not a proven system yet. The Military will never choose this, way too heavy and way too expensive. I think reciporcation charging handles are complete nonsense, I had a sig 556 rifle and it was total garbage, $1700 and had to send it for repairs 3 times, junk.
semiautoriflelover1 3 months ago
@MavHunter20XX Have you ever owned an AR15? I've owned over a dozen over the last 18 years and never once had any trouble with gas blowing in my face.
semiautoriflelover1 3 months ago
@semiautoriflelover1 I shoot lefty, and I'm in the military, in case you didn't know.
MavHunter20XX 3 months ago
@MavHunter20XX Since you're in the military that makes you an expert I guess, lets have a challenge, my AR15 at 100 yards open sights vs your mini 14 or SIG 556 with iron sights. Mini 14 LOL. What is your MOS in the "military"?
semiautoriflelover1 3 months ago
@semiautoriflelover1 First off, I don't go by MOS. I shoot enough to know what I like. I'm sure you're a better shooter w/ what you're comfortable with.
I used to have a mini-14 but sold it because it was front heavy and the accuracy left a lot to be desired, but I wasn't using the best ammo either and good cheap mags were hard to find.
Besides, I own a 91/30, and I'm looking foward to an M1A in the future.
And don't worry, I got expert w/ the M4 49 out of 50.
MavHunter20XX 3 months ago
@semiautoriflelover1 Hey, I don't want to come off as a prick. My comments of preference are comming from the last time I fired the M4 Carbine. Despite I shot very well with it and there are some advantages to being a left handed shooter, I still had some issues compard to other rifles I've operated. Standard issued rifles suck in my opinion and a personal rifle will suit an individual better than one size fits all, but there's a lot to be said to master all platforms.
MavHunter20XX 3 months ago
@MavHunter20XX But remember that us people in the US don't use the M4 and M16s that are worn out and junky, we have AR15s semiauto and they hardly ever jam at all, I have no sand 2000 miles near my state at all, The last time I had a jam with a AR15 was 10 years ago using crap wolf ammo that stuck in chamber. I never had that issue with the gas hitting me in the face and I wear contacts and have fired 3000-4000 rounds per year since 1995 through ARs. I get gas in the face with AKs if I oil tube
semiautoriflelover1 3 months ago
@semiautoriflelover1 Even w/ brand new mil spec AR-15's, they will still suck big in the hands of those who know what makes a good rifle w/ someone such as yourself. Tirgger sucks, handguard too big and heavy, better off grinding down the front sight post and attaching a BUIS, issued red dot too bulky and would do better w/ 2x magnification, grip is too small and don't allow for propper reach, ambi magazine release desired....
I think you know where I'm going w/ this.
MavHunter20XX 3 months ago
@MavHunter20XX you're a gucci gunner aren't you? If it works, run it. M4 works. I run it. it's really not that heavy. Who needs ambi release? more than one way of performing a function is just more to learn. Keep it simple. Why do you need a folding buis? I agree with grip reach and heavy the heavy KAC handguard, but hell it works how I need it to.
verticallyblessed 3 months ago
@verticallyblessed If you never fired a Mil-spec M4, you won't know what I'm talking about. And try doing a quick mag change left handed on an AR-15 /w bad levers, I have to reach for my mag, press the release with my thumb, then insert. When you can change something in your power that can give you and advantage, I feel it would be smart to do it.
That being said, basic mil-spec M4/M16 gets the job done, no more, no less, untill you neglect it.
MavHunter20XX 3 months ago

@verticallyblessed That's exactly what I said (or ment).
