I find it interesting that there were plenty characters on the Wire who got killed who had what was coming to 'em in some way...However their deaths made me feel something for them. I wished they didn't have to die. Prison? yes, death, no. HOWEVER - Cheese is the ONLY character who I enjoyed watching him get whacked. Crazy. And I'm a Method Man fan. lol I would have enjoyed Rawls meeting the same fate. He and Cheese are of the same ilk.

I love how casually Slim Charles did that! And how pleased with himself he was afterwards! Cheese made such a show of "oh I've got a gun pulled." Charles shot him before he even had a chance to realize a gun had been pulled on him. Awesome. Charles will be the new Avon, and he will run things for many years because he's way more reasonable than Marlo.

You know, after what happened to all the likable characters on this series, it felt like a sort of retribution to have Slim be the last man standing. Slim was an excellent enforcer, smart and brutal, a loyal LT, and inevitably a great kingpin.

I love when him and Cutty go at Boo and Fruit, and Slim just lights Boo up, then they return to Avon.

With Cheese gone, Slim can easily take control of a lot of west side real estate. He's a loyal soldier with a good reputation. No doubt, he'll be working with Avon once Avon finishes his sentence(at the end of the series there were like 3-4 years left).

Slim Charles has become the new Avon, except if anything he has more honour. Whereas the whole case in season 1 got started because the Avon/Stringer crew killed a witness, if Charles plays his cards right he could be like Joe, basically be accepted in the community as a lesser evil than any possible replacement (Marlo's memory will live a long time), and be stable long term. Hell he gets the direct connection to the Greeks. A code is a good thing, as long as you have the muscle to back it.
