I think that maybe Hatter decided he didn't like his friend beign an assassin. So Mad March requested permission from the Queen to kill Hatter who he thought betrayed him. In a life and death situation, Hatter had to kill his ex friend to stay alive. I don't think he would feel bad at all.

This is great personally I loved MM and wish they had done more with him.
My theory is that MM and Hat were hit-men together and they caught the intrest of the Queen she then made them her top asassins. Then during one job Hat fell for the mark and a fight broke out between the two and ended with MM killing the girl and Hat killing MM. And thats why Hat was a little hard at the start losing his love and his friend. But that just me.

Maybe he somehow gets brought back and starts terrorizing Wonderland, Jack sends for Hatter (and by extension Alice) because Hatter used to be his best friend and knows something that could stop him. But I too was wondering about the fallout between those two, especially since all we got was Hatter seeming to recognize him and saying he had no idea who that creature who led the posse was. I would love to read the fanfic on THAT fallout. There's a short one that gives one explanation but a deeper look into that would be awesome.
I've actually read a fanfic where the Hare is actually Hatter's brother and the reason they hate each other is because Hatter was the one who killed him the first time. The story is that hatter believed he could trust his brother and showed him the location of the Great Library. Hatter then finds out that Hare has actually been working for the Queen for years and plans to kill Hatter now that he know where the Great Library is. Hatter realizes what he has to do and kills Hare.

i love Mad March! im so happy someone finally mad one based on mad March though hes my favorite character in Alice! but i think what happend between him and hatter was that Hatter decided to do two things while Mad March thoguht that doing one thing at atime was better than decieving the other side, but it hink Mad March screwed up one and the queen killed him and then realising what she'd done asked the scientists to bring him back in order for him to hunt alice and Hatter down.
That was really well done! I'd LOVE to know Hatter and Mad March's past together was - other then what we know from the original Alice, of course. Just the way Hatter said "It can't be.." makes me think there was definately something there that was never explained. All I want for Christmas is a sequel! :D Great vid :D

Since the writers didn't explain their history, I imagined that the two were friends & were forced to work for the Queen- Hatter ran the tea shop (& Carpenter gave him the super right hand) & MM was an assassin. MM discovered Hatter's also working for the resistance, so Hatter killed his friend before MM could tell the Queen. The way the Queen said, "is MM alive YET" indicated (to me at least) that she didn't kill him. Just my thought lol. What's yours?
