His fighting style is what makes him awesome, instead of the plot armor that the Tekken creators gave to Jin. Akira's Baji Quan would give Jin a rude awakening with that "Yellow Bamboo" shit he calls a fighting style. Ironically, Ryu from Street Fighter seems to also use Yellow Bamboo style.

If we compare Baji Quan (Akira) and Traditional Karate (Jin), Baji Quan it's by far superior, other than that both universes are different, one being more realistic and the other one more fantastic, and both characters are ficticious and they can have any power the creator want, like destroying the world with a blink, so it's a stupid comparission, I think Jin is cooler than Akira, but Akira has an explosive fighting style, one of the best that I ever seen in a fighting game.

@shubiguby: Akira isn't stiff. His movements are based off an actual Gung-Fu style that is more explosive and linear than you're probably used to seeing out of Chinese Martial Arts. The designers actually made his movements more fluid in VF5, especially his victory forms.

Despite all that, Jin would still win because he is a more balanced and complete fighter IMHO and has superpowers, lol!

Jin has the Devil Gene. He has defeated everything that has gotten in his way even powerhouses like Kazuya and Heihachi consecutivley. Akira canonically has a hard time and most of the time has gotten his ass handed to to him by Kage multiple times. Jin would win this one. But these two don't have a similar fighting style. In my opinion, their anime counterparts are completely different. Tekken's anime was a short movie and loosely based upon the storyline of Tekken 2. Characters were quite developed and had personality traits but alternation/randomness in storyline certainly wasn't a good thing.

VF's anime, on the other hand, was a series and emphasized on fight scenes rather than storyline similar to 'Ong-bak' and 'The Protector'. Many original moves were shown and described in the series.

Tekken focus's on an insane ground mix up game, something that Virtua Fighter more or less completely lacks because the engine itself doesn't allow you to repeatedly attack your opponent on the ground...

Precisely, but Tekken doesn't ONLY focus on Okizeme, its ground-game is just different from other 3D games. And you are absolutely right, VF have ETEG, 0-frame throws, fuzzy guard, wider range of throws per character and Nitaku while Tekken has BDC/KBD, E-steps, Wave-dash/Light-dash, Just frames, JF throws and tech-traps which are not presented in VF.

It makes me laugh to see some DOA fans claiming that their game is "years" ahead in terms of depth and is more technical than both.
