Not true yes usally ctqckheads are ones in sweaters on 90 degree days but there are some conditions that can cause a person to need sweater even in that weather. Also do to sun sensativety or being allergic to sun(yes its weird but true) we need to wear long sleves to protect us from sun.
I actually saw htis happen at Rite Aid a few months ago, some guy wanted needles & claimed he had diabetes & didn't have a prescription for it. They refused & as he walked out of the store he trashed the aisle he walked down while leaving....crazy stuff.
It is unfortunate that in the pharmacy where I work, we are obligated to sell syringes to every Tom, Dick, and Harry who asks. Once upon a time, we didn't have that rule, and we would always ask the OTC syringe shoppers if they got their insulin at our location. The liars were easy to spot, and almost invariably, they reply that they are "visiting my Grandma who lives here, but I'm from Arizona, and she needs syringes, but her insulin prescription is filled in Azrizona." See what I mean?
Cont. Write it down, neatly, like a grocery shopping list! If they ask where she fills her scripts tell them, "Well, she lives closest to Wal-Mart, so I'd figure she fills them there. But she didn't tell me exactly where, so I'm not %100 sure on that. I'm so sorry." If they ask for her name USE YOUR LAST NAME. Make sure to bring some kind of photo ID. They'll make you sign a log, but if local laws permit, they'll sell them to you. Try to find a 'good neighbor pharmacy' (Google them.)
If you want syringes, here's some advice: Write down the information you need to tell the pharmacy on a piece of paper (as if it was written directly from your TYPE 2 DIABETIC grandmother). Write down: 1. "Grandma", who no longer has a license, asks you to pick syringes up for them. 2. They've been a "Type 2 diabetic" for 11 yrs. 3. She takes 35 Units of Novolog insulin, 3 times a day AND 55 Units of Lantus at night. 4. She uses 100 Unit, 1mL 29 G syringes. .....
in my state, we can sell any # of syringes w/out a rx. it's obvious who the druggies are (they ask for "any size" and pay with $100 bills), but hey, at least we are helping decrease the risk of them getting hiv or hep c

Pharmacists are the same the world over. The naive might think their job is to ensure people get the medicines they need. But that’s not how the pharmacist sees it. As far as he is concerned he is the custodian of the meds and no one is getting any if he can help it. Pharmacists are angry bitter failed doctors - finding jobsworth reasons to deny people their medicine is their revenge on a world that wouldn’t let them be proper doctors. I almost feel sorry for therm.
you sound like you've been rejected from a pharmacist one too many times for trying to buy syringes for your friend.
Pharmacists aren't a fall-back profession. you still need 4 years of education on top of doing a # of years in an undergrad program. And denying medications? are you retarded? that goes against the code of ethics. if there's a legitimate reason why a patient shouldn't receive medication then of course the medication wouldn't be given out
@AlanTTT3 If you would be so kind, you should probably end all of your comments with: "Disclaimer: Derp". You might want to start wearing a helmet while you're at it.
In MA syringes are OTC to prevent needle sharing which results in HIV. If someone with diabetes needed them they would have a rx for them and would not need to buy them OTC anyway.

In NY syringes are OTC, but we can only sell a 10pk and the customer has to sign a log.

@BMZ8504 that is ridiculous. they could just use a fake name...or go to a different pharmacy. what a joke. may as well just give them away.

In MO they are OTC, but we keep them behind the counter. Wish we could say the same things at our Pharmacy!
