@Gojira1954x It is one of the best beddings for mice and it does take care of odor. It does need to be changed out frequently with four mice, especially if it is a smaller cage.
@SgtJones09 It is dusty, but there is no research supporting respiratory issues in your animal. It is a great option for most small animals. If someone notices an animal sneezing on this, they should of course discontinue it's use. One of my rats was dust sensitive, while the rest were fine. Due to that, I did change over to fleece myself. Carefresh can be put through a sifter and the dust can be drastically reduced that way. I know many small animal owners who do this.
I'm new to having a hamster CAn you explain to me what's Bedding and litter used for? I have a fancy bear hamster that's orange and white he's a male, i think he's a baby. Should i get Carefresh? And what else is recommended for litter and bedding?
@1049028 The bedding is what you put at the bottom of the cage (also reffered to as litter). The best bedding for a hamster is carefresh. Second to that is Aspen (do NOT use pine or cedar!). Either of those will be perfect for you. I would aviod any other litter for a hamster.
@1049028 You can buy the little litter box if you like, but it is a complete waste of money for the most part. One in perhaps 50 hamsters will actually use it. Many will ignore it completely. They are VERY difficult to potty train.
No, only when you have it in a cage with an animal that urinates on it and do not change it out every other day or two. Many animals do just fine on it for a week without a problem. As I myself have four rats that stink it up quickly, I do not use it. It's a very safe bedding and one I would for sure suggest to a pet owner- I just find without frequent cleaning it does tend to smell.
Is carefresh safe for mice? I have four of them does it absorb the odour?

Check out this report on the toxicity of pine and cedar (not aspen!)

Aspen is fine. There is no problem with that type of wood bedding. Pine and Cedar are the dangerous wood beddings. =)

aspen is not so good for pets!
