Someone offered me a completely stock 06 for 1,500. I'm in the market for a quad, and am very tempted. But before considering it, what can I expect as far as maintenance? I know break pads, cleaning the airfilter, and changing the oil are a must. Will I need to rebuild the engine often, and if so, how often? Also, how's it on gas? I know two strokes aren't as efficient but what's your estimate for a stock? Thanks
@FatherQuad The Blasters are very reliable quads. I've had mine for over 6 years and ALWAYS ride it like I am in the video. I've only rebuilt it once and that was only for the .020 over race piston I put in it. I've been running it for 4 or 5 years with this top end and it hasn't let me down. As for gas mileage, it's really not so bad. Since they're only 200 cc they can go pretty far on one tank. I dunno how far exactly lol
i just bought a 2004 blaster bord out to 240cc thing will walk all over a stock blaster!and probably even contend with a banshee!great video buddy!lets race;)
@wildman261 The 240 kit is a big bore kit. It's a whole new cylinder and head. You can't bore the stock cylinder to a 240. You wouldn't want to anyways, they're air cooled and the cylinder wall would be extremely close to the cooling fins lol
@wildman261 i have a blaster that is bored .040 over with the stock cyilnder and it runs great will dog this blaster in this video but yes is does run a lil on the hot side but if you know how to ride it and have the right set up it runs great and im tired of people saying they have a 240cc blaster its a bunch of bull shit here is the formula do the math Cylinder volume = 0.7853982 x bore2 x stroke
@pmoney0815 the bore of the cylinder witch on a .040 piston is 67mm the stock stroke is 57mm unless you have a stroker crank to find the true displacment you would convert mm in to cm so therefore you would have 6.7 as your bore then 5.7 as your stroke then you you do the math 6.7x6.7x5.7x0.7853982=200.96219362cc would be your true displacment of your cyilnderso stop saying you have a 240 blaster
Ok because i have 95 blaster and it bogs a little so i am going to put a pipe on it and get a new reed valve and see if that helps. I alteady re did the top end and have a new air filter and cleaned the jets so the only thing left is the pipe and the reed valve
@CountryBoy8045 FMF SST Gold Series header pipe and FMF silencer. V3 reed valves. Vito's racing piston. Vito's oil block off kit. And, I think that's it MOTOR wise. It doesn't take much to make these quick as hell.
@nboldman A fouled plug is a plug that has so much un-burnt fuel on it that it no longer sparks and back when I raced this thing I believe I mixed it either 40 or 50 to one. That was pretty dang lean lol. For trail riding and stuff it's best to stay a little conservative and go like 30 to 1
@YamahaKID19 Yeah I've noticed that most people never ride 'em like they're supposed to. I prefer to go fast and not foul plugs every riding trip lol. Thanks for the comment
@blindskater200 no problem i have the same type of technique i hate how most people never now how to shift ride and ride good But great vid dude! finally get my blaster back tomrrow!
@quadrid3r93 Well, back when I first got it, I went right into racing. I feel like I can shift a little faster without the clutch so it's just become a habit and it's stuck with me for about 5 or 6 years now. It's crazy how it's held up for 6 years of my abuse lol
what kind of tires do your have on it? and it looks pretty cool where you are riding

i love your riding style! drop it and go! two questions. what do you mean by fouling a plug? and what ratio do you mix you gas to?
