Can someone explain to me what his theory for finding this is? The rods are reacting to our subconscious and not to water?? He obviously found the canister.. which no water was present. So, how did he find the canister? Why?

Daren's words were too low resolution for the specific location that the man started digging in. Daren guided the man's conversation, but the man found the location with limited help from the words Darren used. Dowsing is not just about water. First Derren points him in the correct direction, then he talks about how it "can be RIGHT over (..)". The color blue, and the water is obvious when they have talked about water for a long time. Also, "hear", "closer too it" and "how do you HEAR(=here) it" . He is basically saying "it is here, you are close". I'm not gonna explain this further, but you get the idea. I suggest watching more of his videos, and perhaps reading one of his books if you're genuinly interested in these sort of things.
