  • My ex showed me this immediately after we broke up, and i was still SO angry with him that i didnt listen and forgot about it. I rediscovered it months later, and its extremely bittersweet now. It is us in a nutshell. Years of feeling down the drain, we don't even talk at all anymore. This song makes me sad.

  • Dude I Love Your music It's a Reall Life music.Thank God For You Guys.

  • someone got friend-zoned hard. D:

  • i love how he kinda talks in the beginning and then the music starts playing and he really just pours out his emotions.

  • Heh, this song.

  • This is perfect.

Not just the lyrics, or how the vocalist sings,

but the music too, and how it all seems to mesh together so well.

    It's just breathtaking.

  • Can't believe how ignorant i was.

First my ex showed me him i said he sucked 'sounded like a bitch whining '

Now she's gone & i finally understand his music his words his pain.

La Dispute Honestly one of the Greatest bands in the world

Not everyday you find music with perfect words

  • this song is probs my favorite one.

  • This is more of spoken word than music. Not saying its bad or anything though.

  • @zek360 yeah, try the 'Wildlife' album

  • @InYourWordsBand

    Most people say Jesse Eisenberg.

  • I like them!

  • "how i wept to god in fits, i've hated airports ever since."

    so powerful

  • This song.

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP PEOPLE, you guys make this band seem so cliche.

  • Dude. The singer sounds like Michael Cera at the beginning.

  • I would give anything to write music like this. It's so emotional and amazing. The music, the talent, the lyrics, the passion.. So good in every way possible.

  • who the fuck disliked that song...whats wrong with people these days...

  • This song reminds me of someone so much.

If I do not miss a part of you, a part of me is dead.

If I can't love you as a lover, I will love you as a friend.

  • Some one told me :La Dispute was a hardcore band...this wasn't what i was expecting....still, i like it though.

  • @Strongerthananyfaith they are the true hardcore.. they also are a bit of blues.. and beautiful either way

  • exactly!

  • Oh my fucking god, I feel cheated I just heard this, its three years of basking in how amazing it is Ive missed out on!

  • The lyrics to this song gives me fucking chills everytime, he is such an amazing lyricist he creates a vivid picture in my head, absolute fucking genius man

  • love this band, so much.

  • This song.

  • 2nd from last one got me >_>

  • the part where he describes grabbing her 3/4th of the way on her hand...that brings make nostalgic feelings for me..its been 5 years , shes married and i still wake up after dreaming about how beautiful and what amazing person she is and all our awesome times together. After her, i dont see how i can ever break down my wall (pink floyd reference)

  • This song. Man, this song.

  • Every lyric to this made me hypnotized to listen to and relate it to someone i really don't like to talk about, and they way he sung the words made me flinch in pain and tears. This is a really beautiful song. :/

  • This song's title is my name, and it's spelled the same way. Fell in love with this band when i saw that c:

  • IS it just me or do they somewhat sound like some of the older songs by Underoath?

  • @annieAsphyxia your a retard.

  • @OFjimjagoda666 Says the one who can't spell?

    Nice

  • @HITorMISS01 im pretty sure i spelled everything right.

  • @OFjimjagoda666 Your is possessive,like "she's your retard"

You're (You are) is what you meant to say.

Sorry to be picky, but if you're going to call someone a retard for having an opinion then you better make sure you're not a retard yourself Homie.

  • My name is Andria! (:

  • I felt alone intill i found this band.

    hes a lyrical genius.

  • I'm so happy they aren't wearing skinny jeans

  • @4buds2papers0problem Yeah, because how people dress is relevant to the music they make/listen to...

  • "I've been alone"

  • Man, that are some hard lyrics, true ones.

  • whats with scene kids having more then one relationship. fuck being a kid.

  • The song's about heroin.

  • @RolloTheApollo That's probably false, but for some reason, I believe you.

  • I love the raw emotion in his voice.

  • @rainmarshall49 @Bloodtoxx jesus guys/girls (idk what your genders are) la dispute is awesome. whoever doesnt think so should simply not be on this bands video. stop fucking arguing. please

  • if i cant love you as a lover i will love you as a friend

  • I just don't understand how I've never found this band until now.

  • Pretty crazy how these lyrics are so true

  • If Shakespeare had a band, it'd be La Dispute.

  • @LyssalouuLovesYou minus the lack of the Shakespearean sonnet and his other countless poetic devices. Just let La Dispute be good. Don't bring the creator of Early Modern English into this.

  • @LyssalouuLovesYou or listener.:)

  • those lyrics are actually extremely hypocrite. it's not possible to stay friends with someone you once actually loved.

  • @xmalaisedusieclex Not true. I'm close friends with the guy I loved more than anything.

  • @xmalaisedusieclex they're hypocrite?

  • @xmalaisedusieclex I think he's saying, he'd rather be friends with that person than nothing at all.

  • This song makes me cry...often.

  • This is amazing it is so beautiful if you don't like it you dont know what deep emotion feels like. this band is the best!

  • This song.... this song is straight from the heart

  • This song= pure brilliance and beauty. Thumbs up if you agree.

  • Part of me absolutely loves this. That part of me keeps me listening even though his voice confuses me, lol. I'm not sure how to explain it. At first listen they were a no, but now I wonder if they're just fucking genius...

  • La dispute, TBH i never liked them. then i listened to the lyrics. Music is about touching people, connecting with fans, and enjoying what you do. Not just pussy money and black bitches,

    HMU- kat devendra

  • This song helps give me closure.

  • Ehhh I liked 'em better when all this emotional bullshit wasn't flooding every page.

  • dammmn emotasti, nice feeling tho

  • :(

  • Beautiful.

  • This is the only good thing I got out of dating my ex, SO worth it. :)

  • oh god.

    this. this is beautiful.

  • So I retrace our every step with an unsure pen.

  • does anyone know what does "lay a bed before you" mean? its gotta be a phrase right?

  • @lazyburger yeah, it's the act of making a hole into a bed, putting it in front of here, then proceeding to have sexual intercourse with said bed.

  • @CameroonLoser lol you made me lol bad

  • This song... really touched me... It's the only one of there's so far that hasn't even slightly annoyed me... Oh my God.

  • it's one of the songs you shouldn't listen to if you're not completely over your last relationship..

  • Kinda creepy how this song explains my entire past relationship lol fuck life.

  • Most music that is written about past lovers, sadness and shit like that usually sounds like someone just complaining, and there's not really much emotion portrayed in the songs (like new A day to remember) but La Dispute is a whole other breed. You hear the raw emotions poring out;all and all-I dig it.

  • you never know -immortal technique

  • god.

  • shiiittt.

  • "I remember when you leaned in quick to kiss me, and I swear, that not a single force on Earth could stop the trembling of my hand."

    Best lyrics ever.

  • @ALFAlyssa1 Couldn't agree more!

  • Ive been alone here ive been afraid my dear IVE BEEN ALONE.. If I do not miss a part of you a part of me is dead..I miss you.

  • this song is almost too good

  • I dont know why the fuck am I here... Shouldn't we avoid depressive songs when we are depressed?

  • @ale15stip No, I find it helps

  • @ale15stip its clears your mind for some people. helps see the real picture in whatever situation its in

  • this is possibly my favourite song and to read people being rude about jordans voice is so irritating! as an artist he's inspirational; his voice enhances the rawness of his lyrics. in my opinion, if you've got a problem you should pretty much fuck off.

  • Honestly, I believe that this band writes some of the most meaningful lyrics, and they have some really cool instrumentation, but in my opinion, I can't stand his voice. But this is one thing that I can stand, I mean the lyrics are overpowering

  • Insane song... only one I know of featuring my name. And I thought "Dick's Automotive" by the Rugburns was ridiculous...

  • How can this even have dislikes?

  • <3

  • but my head just ain't what it used to be

  • Why is there so much hatred on these video's? Seriously, if you didn't like the song/band then why stick around to write the opinion fans don't actually want to hear? Let people like what they like whether you agree or not because they don't care what you think. Just stop it- if you ask me, it's quite rude to be honest. Much love for La Dispute <3

  • The musicians sound good..but the singer...holy shit....if he actually tried singing he would probably sound GOOD....He sounds like he has a cold and can't talk or something >_>....The instruments? great, Lyrics? good. Singer? Sucks... Ass. Major ass.

  • @rsloader He can sing, very well infact. yet i prefer it when he screams, and i belive most la dispute fans will agree with me. The screamed vocals reflect the nature of the lyrics, it sounds kinda lika he's shouting at the top of his lungs at his ex girlfriend or something right??

  • @rsloader Except you obviously don't understand what A: Passion, or B: True emotion is. And "Lyrics, good" These lyrics are the most incredible lyrics I've heard of any songs in my life. This song is absolutely fucking perfect in every aspect of it's being. Jordan Dreyer is the complete fucking opposite of "Sucking ass" and if you can't understand that without help, I assume you're one of the retarded mainstream hip-hop "Sex drugs and money omg im so cool" retards.

  • @rainmarshall49 Someone has a different opinion than you and you outright insult them? That's pretty mature. People have their own tastes; if you can't understand that, you're pathetic.

  • @Bloodtoxx It's not a matter of having a different musical opinion than me. I could understand that. It was a matter of the way he described my favorite band. For a lot of people, music is their defining factor of their being- so going to a youtube video and commenting on how shitty the sound of someone's favorite band is is like stabbing a person in their heart. Personally, I think if you post about how shitty a beautiful song is, you're asking to get talked shit to.

  • @rainmarshall49 If you're allowed to go to songs and express how much you like him, others are able to do the opposite. Pull your head out of your ass and cut the hypocrisy.

  • @Bloodtoxx Well, wouldn't it make a shit ton more sense to not waste your time commenting on how "Shitty" a song is in the midst of a mass of people who like the song. He was asking to get told off. He probably shouldn't have just avoided the song in the first place, now shouldn't he have?

  • @rainmarshall49 Some people are linked by friends to videos, you know. They don' know what it is until it pops up. And, he shouldn't have avoided it? Now you're just contradicting yourself. And just so you know, with a response like the one you gave him, you're just as pathetic as he is.

  • @Bloodtoxx You know, to be honest, you don't seem like too bad of a guy. You seem intelligent, to be honest. But insulting somebody's music is one of the most disrespectful things a person could ever do to another- Right after insulting their family. Coming from that point of view, you could see where I was perfectly in line with that comment. I was defending my beliefs, just like you're doing now. I respect that. But I stand by my position that he deserved my "Insult".

  • @rainmarshall49 Insulting someone's music is nowhere close to insulting one's family, rofl. You're no better than the one you insulted.

  • @Bloodtoxx Well obviously you're not as passionate about music as some people. And honestly, what I said wasn't even an insult. I said I'd assumed he was into shit music. Unless there's a grain of truth to it, an assumption isn't technically an insult. See, I can assume you're close-minded and have chlamydia. That doesn't mean you'll get offended by it. Now shut the fuck up.

  • @rainmarshall49 And I could call you a fat lazy fucking faggot. That's an assumption, but also an insult. Get your facts straight.

  • @Bloodtoxx It's not an insult, because it's not true, and I know that. Look, we obviously both have our own opinions here, and we're both wasting our lives arguing back and forth because you're too stubborn to understand my point of view, and I'm too stubborn to change my mind. So let's shut the fuck up and end this already, shall we? It's fucking pointless now. So nice meeting you, goodbye.

PS. "Faggot" isn't a fucking insult anyways, dumbass. You should really choose your words more carefully.

  • @rainmarshall49 "Faggot" is derogatory. Maybe you should learn your words and you'd know that, "dumbass".

  • @rainmarshall49 I'm not saying the lyrics to this song are bad, but I think (in fact) that Thrice has the most meaningful lyrics. THe first time you hear/read them, they may make little sense to you. But as you read further into Thrice's lyrics, you begin to realize that they have a much deeper meaning. Take "Words In The Water" as a good example.

  • @rainmarshall49 omg thank you so much for speaking everything which was on my mind!!

  • @rsloader that's not why this band exists. they exist because they want to vent or channel the passion and the emotion that they've stored up for who knows how long. that's why anyone writes music. because they want their story/ message/ mistakes to be known and understood. it's obvious that you're so culturally shallow that you have to take this band and its music at face value. you obviously haven't been in a situation where you've felt as strongly him so therefore you can't judge his talent.

  • ahahah asian dating site ->

  • .......the fuck did I just listen to?

  • @BillyJoban The most brilliant song you'll ever listen to, that's what.

  • ive been alone. .. ive been alone!

  • its funny, I listen to this song for the first time and I find little nuances in them that could be about my own life and the song just becomes 100000x more meaningful

  • I've been searching for this band subconsciously. And now i've found it. couldn't be happier :D

  • my names andria<3 LOL

  • @AndriaLS mine too thats why i listened to this crazy ass song but i didnt hear my name hhahhhaaa

  • @ThatCute311Boy LIKE YOUR MOTHER'S COOKIES!!! D<

  • I cannot describe how the soul touching music or the heart renching vocalist makes me feel, but fuck it is deep.

  • Goosebumps. Every. single. time.

  • i love this song. (:

  • He preformed this last night and I swear it was the best moment of my life. I seriously cried.

  • @supercookie1993 go fuck yourself

  • i love that a guy loves a girl so much that they will kill for them and thats what i hear in this song its so beautiful......

  • he kinda sounds like michael cera.

  • your lyrics are bad, NeveaTearss. "Oh, I wept to god; It fits I've hated airports ever since"

  • It's like a 4 minute long poem..

  • He is poetry, Then he breaks out to song <3 Because his voice turns from meaningful. To meaningful & Beautiful.

  • Nevermind, this is absolute shit by the way. Guy can't sing to save his life. But that's just one man's opinion.

  • Reminds me of Say Anything for some reason.

  • Am I the only one who's reminded of Tim McIlrath from Rise Against and TKT?

  • @indk709271 yurp

  • Gave me chills.

  • @ahollenden MAH NUMBER IS MORE SPECIAL! (ò_ó)

  • Is it just me or does he sound like Smosh?

  • Jordan's voice is perfect.

  • 99 problems and a bitch ain't one.

  • @coldironhands1 thumbs up for the Cudi reference haha.

  • @BaconBLTurner

    :| I was quoting eminem

  • Hey Jenn... Its been a while.. a year or so hasnt it?... I still remember the way we would get together and my awkward phrases. which captivated awkward silences, broken by the sound of my cracking voice.... Kind of clever that your brain worked the same way mine did... we thought we were attacking each other, and jenn...i think thats where we messed up with each other. For i held my sword and shield while facing you, we played mirror... If i could do it all over. I promise i would make it right

  • I think the reason i like this band so much is because i can truly hear the pain in his voice and all the emotion hes letting out

  • Comment removed

  • i love his voice so damn much!

  • Such a freaking amazing band, his emotion in the songs is so strong its addicting

  • I love this band

  • You still cross my mind, from time to time.

  • Look up MeWithoutYou. Very similar, but a christian band.

  • @NathanielJamesMusic mewithoutYou is not a christian band, evan Arron said it himself

  • @NathanielJamesMusic I wouldn't call mewithoutYou a Christian band. Their lyrics are influenced by Christianity, but they are also influenced by Judaism and Islam.

  • @Dowzer83 hmm didn't know that. Cool, well, a spiritual band then.

  • this is some heavy, jazzy stuff

  • goddammit. how can the pain be as strong today as 15 years ago? i have a son and a wife that i cling onto with dear life, but when jordan says, And if I do not miss a part of you, a part of me is dead If I can't love you as a lover, I will love you as a friend' i remember the acute pain of what could have been. and he is exactly fucking right.

  • @revdougprice Clinging onto your child and wife, thats very unhealthy, what a very dependent way to live your life.

  • @mothballs2 i think you misunderstood what i was saying. but that's cool.

  • hipsters.

  • I haven't cried like this to a song in a LONG time. This is epitomizes what I'm going through. The words absolutely pierced through me, cry like a fucking kid.

  • Sutter Kain sampled the beginning part for a interlude on Donnie Darko's 'emotional disorder' album

  • wow this song is awesomee <3

  • this is like an amazing metal jazz!!

  • vocals suck, but such passion. every song by them, you can tell there's a story behind it. that's what music is. doesn't matter the genre, or if it's what society considers talented. it's passion

  • @r94vought I like the vocals, Not the best voice but he puts his heart into it.

  • of course theyre amazing! and dont compre them to mewithoutyou theyre way better
