Stanley Kubrick actually made sure he was off the set for the more horrifying parts to stop him being psychologically traumatised. Now that's planning ahead.

Is it just me, or does it seem he has much of the wit and intelligence of an adult, but without the weird, Dakota Fanning-esque, "I've lost my innocence at an early age and I'm an adult in a child's body" part that most children with such intelligence have?
@dcolby5 I know. A lot of child actors seem so sad with their "stage parents" and all. At least it wasn't that way with him, and he quit when he wanted to and went off to do other things. Some people are commenting that it's a shame he quit acting but, really, if he didn't want to act he had no obligation to do so.
