@RoivasUGO do yours ears work? vocals has been pitch corrected, thats lame, the sweep guitar sections during the "Opera" bits has been cut and looped,thats lame, drums are over compressed so they sound like clicks. Thats fact, just listen to it ..... This is a half assed production, I have seen this played live on somewhere but its power has no fanny "opera" bits either.

I will agree that it is a bit too dense and the guitars could be more intelligible, but "utter shit" is a bit much in my opinion. as a amateur recording engineer I know the work it takes to mix a modern metal album, and believe me blending 100 tracks together and having every one stand out clearly and with perfect tone is nearly impossible. every one has to have it's own place in the equalization spectrum, meaning you have to filter out and boost certain frequencies.
@KerrT89 you can make a kick sound like that without triggers, using heavy compression and eq. it's alway necessary to filter out some low end (especially with so MANY tracks), otherwise things get muddy and tracks don't stand out on their own. in my humble opinion it does indeed sound excellent considering all the layers. maybe I'm just a "total wank"... oh well.

@umbilicaltapeworm I am a free lance composer and run a small recording studio and i know what goes into producing metal and its not as much as people crack it up to be, sure its not easy but look into acousmatic mastering and multi channel diffusion if you don't know, it's intense, some producers use the most amazing effects you could never think were real.
@umbilicaltapeworm This has no where near 100 tracks and if an input source has do be duplicated of equalized to make it sound like this its not been recorded properly to begin with, unless of course you are using a software amp synthesizer for something like a guitar cause the tone needs to be filled out. You can make a kick sound Like this but that is triggered, you can tell cause the resonance is exactly the same for each hit and when you emulate it it sound like everything is out of phase

@RoivasUGO do yours ears work? vocals has been pitch corrected, thats lame, the sweep guitar sections during the "Opera" bits has been cut and looped,thats lame, drums are over compressed so they sound like clicks. Thats fact, just listen to it ..... This is a half assed production, I have seen this played live on somewhere but its power has no fanny "opera" bits either.
and explain to me what is progressive in this? what is new grounds are being broken by this?

I will agree that it is a bit too dense and the guitars could be more intelligible, but "utter shit" is a bit much in my opinion. as a amateur recording engineer I know the work it takes to mix a modern metal album, and believe me blending 100 tracks together and having every one stand out clearly and with perfect tone is nearly impossible. every one has to have it's own place in the equalization spectrum, meaning you have to filter out and boost certain frequencies.

@KerrT89 you can make a kick sound like that without triggers, using heavy compression and eq. it's alway necessary to filter out some low end (especially with so MANY tracks), otherwise things get muddy and tracks don't stand out on their own. in my humble opinion it does indeed sound excellent considering all the layers. maybe I'm just a "total wank"... oh well.

sure they have their own twist but nothing new, if you would care to research you will find that chord, melody and vocal pattern based round 4ths 5ths and octaves have since the medieval period and although tone an speed is different this is the base to all metal including this piece.

@umbilicaltapeworm I am a free lance composer and run a small recording studio and i know what goes into producing metal and its not as much as people crack it up to be, sure its not easy but look into acousmatic mastering and multi channel diffusion if you don't know, it's intense, some producers use the most amazing effects you could never think were real.

@umbilicaltapeworm This has no where near 100 tracks and if an input source has do be duplicated of equalized to make it sound like this its not been recorded properly to begin with, unless of course you are using a software amp synthesizer for something like a guitar cause the tone needs to be filled out. You can make a kick sound Like this but that is triggered, you can tell cause the resonance is exactly the same for each hit and when you emulate it it sound like everything is out of phase
