I would die before I ever worshipped the idol of islam. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob said to honor your parents. I do. This video made me cry. I hurt watching my elderly parents who were strong and beautiful in appearance use a walker, stumble, etc. It's extremely painful to watch. They are still so beautiful on the inside. When they go to heaven by the grace of Jesus Christ, they will be "be like Him"... That is, what they were meant to be without the curse caused by man's fall.
As a Muslim person, I would say that it's true we must respect our parent and treat them with mercy as they did in our childhood, but also they shouldn't use religion as a tool to use their sons and daughters for their own purpose. So they should respect our freedom and our time and help us to chose our paths not their. I've witnessed that many times in our culture that parents force their sons for doing something they don't like and they say to them God said you should respect me!
(17:23) Your Lord has decreed:25 (i) Do not worship any but Him;26 (ii) Be good to your parents; and should both or any one of them attain old age with you, do not say to them even "fie" neither chide them, but speak to them with respect,
(17:24) and be humble and tender to them and say: "Lord, show mercy to them as they nurtured me when I was small."

I think the better thing is to write an aside message that Allah orders every human to be very affectionate toward their parents, and that is a holy duty to show all the due respect for your parents. by doing so, you will convey a clear message about the Islamic way in dealing with such important matters without pretending that this thing matters the muslims only. I do believe that everyone respects and loves his parents whatever his religion is.
This was a beautiful short film about the universal love of a father towards his son. It is found all over the world in many different cultures and faiths. It is wrong to change this into a message of Islam, as it should be a message to all people of the world.

The message is quite good, which conveyed through this emotional video. But if you look into it deeply, i guess the father is wrong in asking the son again and again the same question knowing what it is. As he could remember that the child asked him 21 times, can t he remember its a sparrow? The son also politely told 4-5 times.
No! The father reveresed the roles to teach the son to be a father. To actually care for someone else other than himself. To be patient and to be full of love! The son was so selfcentered and cared more for his paper. He was actually bothered even from the first question.

This video is not accurate. If the father has Alzheimers as it is well evident because he keeps asking his son what that chirping noise is, but yet he remembers that he had written a diary about his three year old who now is in his 30's.

Actually This Vedio is my life when I was young, I may tell those case of when I was child also did shout like this to my mother when she try to teach something that I don't feel ok with.. two or three time...

Considering the Bible calls Jesus a Jew and the Bible does not mention Jesus ever saying that there is such a religion as christianity one can be cruel and say Jesus reinstilled true Judism in the Jews and Christianity was a religion that rebelled against them and stole the old Testimnet from them. The message is quite good, which conveyed through this emotional video. But if you look into it deeply, i guess the father is wrong in asking the son again and again the same question knowing what it is. As he could remember that the child asked him 21 times, can t he remember its a sparrow? The son also politely told 4-5 times.

The purpose was to show the son that the father loved him & was merciful & patient with him. The son though, who was not as perfect as the father, felt his "sin" if you will. His conscience was tapped and awakened and consequently his guilt (& ours - mine too) were aroused, which is associated every time we commit a sin, or we are shown externally from others as the movie did for us, (& as the ghosts of X-mas past, present & future did for Mr. Scrooge for eg.). The outcome made the movie better.
