Lower power draw = cheaper electricity bill, not having to replace bulbs is a huge plus, less heat to have to dissipate. You just have to do your ground research and buy a reputable product, not some no name chinese no-brand. Most LED panels are made over seas, but the good ones are engineered in the states and canada.

If made correctly, theres about a 70% efficiency with light compared to 30% with traditional grow lights. A lot of energy is just being wasted on wavelengths that aren't that helpful. Quality LED lights are already on the market if you do your research, and in all fairness I think eventually most growers will adopt them. The problem is the cost of the actual LED's, though considering you don't have to replace a bulb for 10 friggin years that's kind of nice.

You have some nice lights, there, and you have a couple of nice grow closets. I really like the LED's for the vegetative stage of my plants and as supplemental lighting during flowering in combination with HPS.

One thing that made a HUGE difference in my grows was using the SCROG (screen of green) method. Now, I get bigger, denser buds and more of them, and they stay short. LED's benefit tremendously from SCROG - they don't have to penetrate the canopy as deeply to produce well.

they are stretching because the led's being employed by the units are not in the correct wave length medium for tight inter nodle spacing, and also he is using auto flowering for some of them, which never work out well as far as i am concerned, true connoisseurs dont use feminized, or auto flowering seeds.

Overall, how would you rate the LED grow lamps? Technically chlorophyll have absorption peaks at red and blue, and depending on the ratio represents the time of year you're trying to simulate .. hence your increased red for flowering. There are some other compounds in most plant types that absorb enough in the orange spectrum, but i don't know how important that is. There were experiments done with red lasers at the chlorophyll absorption peak that showed promise ... but they're expensive...

your soil mix has a lot to do with it..

for example..

for veg you want more blue light and more nitrogen content in the soil.

for flower you want more red light with more phosphorus and potassium content in the soil.

lighting is important but eating is really important too

again I must post the cost of the light source is not the REAL COST. The electricity is. Over there life these led light will consume 1000's of dollars of electricity. More importantly much less power than an hps or mh setup. The only thing this setup is missing is 1 or 2 65watt cfls. It would fix most of the stretching issues and help balance out the light to a more nature spectrum. AGAIN the power is the real cost not the lights.

@slowdivev Go to lows or HD and just get the WHITE they actually work better and there easy to get and cheaper and they do make a fuller plant and flower better. The red and blue in LEDs are just a myth, the white in LED is like a 10th percent better than the Grow LEDs, this is a proven fact.
