I think Kofi Annan is the best and arguably the only decent Secretary-General to date. The UN needs to be drastically reformed so it has actual power over nations of the world to promote peace and unity. So long as nations such as the UK and the US hold power over it (the idea of a Security Council that relies on unanimous voting renders it entirely ineffective) the UN can never be a respectable instiution. It should be above national agendas, not below them.
