Both reacted differently - mom cried but said she'll always love me regardless to my life - my father at first hated me and avoided any contact - now he calls from time to time just to talk and gets interested in my matters - and remember - you're not alone :)))

I just watched it again last night with a bunch of people in University (3 years later), and I cried threee times... The tears just fell so naturally. What an experience. I'm actually mentioned in the late Leroy Aarons' original biography "Prayers for Bobby", Bobby wrote of me and my Dad in his journals, which are what in part Mr. Aarons had based his book on! My name first appears in the chapter entitled "The Leper" on page 130! But more importantly I hope you realize how wonderful comments like yours mark an incredible "change" in attitudes towards LGBTQ people! A "Paradigm Shift" in society appears to have occurred!

Watched the movie tonight. Drives me insane how much this song still makes me cry and how it gets stuck in my head FOREVER after watching the movie. It's such a beautiful movie, but terribly sad.
