Oh sure. I mean, hey, in THIS Gospel of Jesus Christ we do NOT antagonize science, but embrace it, learn from it, use it, appreciate it, and NEVER accept it as the LAST and FINAL say so - GRIN! And I am dead serious, it changes too fast..... science is tentative forever as Popper rightly said.......
Perhaps the BYU students just wanted to get to the next life sooner, so they could have the change that comes with being a spirit, and be away from the ailments of a natural physical body, though no doubt spirits look forward to having a ressurected, perfected body someday.
Of course, there is always more to be done here, and in the spirit world it will be no different as far as that goes.God keeps busy, but He loves what He does, and He doesn't have to worry about getting tired.
I would study, go see places, nature, help people... I would do slalom (if my knees would be ok). Heh ... watch your videoes. hahah Sail... That is why unrepended sins will get an eternal punishment as they wont be errased...
The Quran have this hope too that the righteous will live forever in the Garden of Eden from which their parents were evicted from. The Garden of Dilmun, the abode of the gods ie. immortal men mentioned in ancient myths.

To me, "progression," "creation," etc. are all time-bound concepts, so I get a little stuck when I consider what someone means when they say "eternal progression." If everything is in front of you all at once, why is there a need for progression?
Sounds like she just doesn't want 1000 years of mortality. Nothing wrong with that. To a lot of people, 1000 years of mortality means 925 extra years of physical handicaps, humiliation, disease, etc...and maybe "annoying roommates" in the case of the BYU students, lol.
Now, 1000 years of "none of that stuff" plus "all of the good stuff" would be something else.
Wow these kids in this class are lame.......or not willing to open their minds at all. "I'd read a book and then maybe hang out with my family". Where is their passion and drive or creativity in life...... I am floored that these kids have no ambition. You have eternity to do anything you want and all you can think of is "I'd read and maybe hang out with my family". Sorry you have to teach a class to these dead beats kids.

Yeah there are teachings that our spirits are in the same form as our bodies are as well. I shall have to look up some references on that.........
