First off these videos are the best I've viewed so far. They are loaded with detail. Excellent.
Question is I have a 2002 Citroen C5 2.2L Hdi. I want to run it on Biodiesel if at all possible. I have found lots of conflicting info. out there on the web as well as the manufacturer - they can run on B100, they only run on B30, they will blow up if you use it, etc.
I have a Mitsubishi Shogun 2006 - 3.2 DID and have done 84,000 on biodiesel and it runs like a dream. I have also had my Shogun Chipped to get more power for towing. On Diesel I get around 29 MPG but on Bio I get around 32 MPG?? Not complaining.
Once I have produced a batch of Biodiesel I filter off to my storage tank through a 1 micron filter. The into the car when needed through a 0.5 micron filter unit. Very over kill but better safe than sorry.
I run a 06 dodge ram 2500. I argee and see no difference in fuel mileage or performance. I have a bully dog triple installed and no muffler. I get around 18mpg on/off bio.
I know on 12 valves you can mix WVO with 8% gasoline and it runs fine, on my 96 i can got 22 mpg in the city as to 19, but a p-pumped truck is the only thing I'd do that with. I now have a duramax and run methanol lye bio and I do get about 1-2 less mpg but idc cuz its $.70 a gallon.
Thanks for the video, my hubby is a FedEx ground driver and we would love to purchase a hybrid because he ( as a subcontractor) has to pay for the deisel in his truck (many dont know that with Fed ex ground). desparately looking how to lower the output of costs for fuel here lol
Could this be done without much notice on a vehicle like that? Afterall it does haul some weight, so I would think it would, and then (ofcourse) the amount of biofuel needed would make it difficult to keep up huh?
It really depends on how old the vehicles is and how often you've changed it prior to running B100. ie. I've noticed that people with Fords tend to have to change them more often than say Dodge owners. Chevy Duramax owners tend to have to change them even more often (because they have smaller micron ratings on their filters). Plan on changing it within the first 1,000 miles & maybe another 3,000 miles again down the road.
Acetone. Does this not liquify (reducing surface tension) bio fuel reducing the viscosity?

I really wish that our county would switch to biodiesel. Those old firetrucks with the 3208 Cat could use all the power that they can get.

i was wondering on average, how long do you think it takes to change the fuel filter of any diesel engine running on completely B100?

But, carry one with you & know how to use it.
