  • Love this video, I watched it a few times. Thanks

  • @dallasewings I made one other Clara Bow video. The other is more serious and sentimental, and it almost makes me want to cry sometimes. So that might be why I decided to use music with a fast tempo for this video. Clara Bow is one of my favorite silent stars. I still plan to make something about her and her ex husband, Rex Bell.

  • I love how you promote the flapper super star Clara Bow!~ Your techie transitions also give her pics some bling! well done! Hey, maybe if she was alive today and making movies, they would call her Clara Bow the "Bling" girl! lol Awesome vid! Thanks alot Ellen!

  • @2reeler Thank you for your nice comments. I have this Pointer Sisters album. The artwork on the album cover was of women in flapper type costumes. The music on my other Clara Bow video is more classical.

    -----------Ellen

  • Wonderful video, awesome.. Love the song to the clips.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Jessie

  • Thank you so much for your nice remarks. I like the high energy song too.

    --------Ellen

  • Dear Ellen,

Fabulous Job, It's Perfect, I always thought Clara was so Beautiful, Sadly I've never had the chance to watch all her movies, I've only seen a few, and I love them, You could tell she was a tomboy : ) That's why I loved her so much : )

    Thank You so much,

    Tammy

  • Thank you for your nice remarks. I have not seen her movies. I have read bios and seen documentaries and clips. I think that because she was called the IT girl, she got my attention.

    -------Ellen

  • Ellen,

    She sure did have "IT!"

I want that Fur shrug she is wearing in your main icon phot. Love this video.

This is your best ONE yet and the music choice is PERFECT! Thanks again, Genia

  • Thank you. A couple of people did not like the music. But I am not trying to be historically accurate though. I just wanted to use a dance tune. Perhaps someone could do a Charleston to the music if they used their imaginagion.

    --------Ellen

  • Ellen,

    I lOVE THIS VIDEO!

You have capture the "IT" of the "IT GIRL"!

    Fabulous, Glorious and Marvelous!

    Merci, Genia

  • Thank you so much. I guess that Clara really did have IT.

    --------Ellen

  • @Shabannie

    Ellen darling

You get better and better. This is fabulous. Video is wonderful, music is excellent. Possibly the Black Bottom would have been more appropriate, I think this is a 70s song.

When the great Genia showers you with praise you know you've arrived. Instantly favourited and five stars.

    Love and kisses

  • Yes, I know that a few people like the old music better. Clara Bow lived until the 1960s. I do not think that she was stuck in time in the twenties. My grandparents liked modern music too. This is just for fun anyhow. I am glad that you and Genia liked this.

    ---------Ellen

  • great

  • Thank you for your nice comment!

    --------Ellen

  • I always enjoy what you send to me Ellen. Thank you so much for your unselfish sweet works. God Bless You.smile

love old films, and actors, love and hugs Lena ..

    10 ********

  • Dear Lena, Thank you so much for your nice remarks. Sometimes people ask me questions about Clara, and I am really just learning about her.

    --------Ellen

  • I like this video...it is full of fun! I like the music combined with your transitional effect. Thank you very much, my friend. Another 5*****for you.

  • I'm so excited! I am glad that you liked the more modern eighties music. Thank you for your nice comments.

    -------Ellen

  • thAT WAS GREAT! 3:44 dOROTHY aRZNER showing Clara sound camera equipment and Clara flirting with her 3:48 was Sue Carol I think Clara would have loved it...I have had the pleasure to talk with her son Rex, he is very kind and a wealth of information...

  • Thank you. I like that fun picture of Clara with the half eaten birthday cake. I do not know the names of most the people in the pictures, except for her husband. A few years ago, I did see her son in a TV interview. It may have been Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, or something about their homes. ----Ellen

  • Lovely tribute, with very nice effects and well-chosen song. Thanks for sharing this !

  • I am glad that you like the song. I like using more modern songs with stories from the past. Intentional anachronisms.

    --------Ellen

  • You've really evolved your video making into a fine art! Love the driving rhythm of the music and photo montage! Great animation, never boring! Fantastic array of vintage photos...especially like the images at 4:47 and 4:56! Liked the technique of showing Bow with her male costars such as John Gilbert and Frederick March in addition to singular photos of her in various costumes and poses! Usually, these silent film stars are accompanied by funerial organ music! Bravo!
  • Thank you for your your nice remarks. I liked those two poses too. I like to include more than just headshots of an actress. I do have another Clara Bow video with beautiful classical music, definitely not organ music, FYI. Friends have told me that this song helped pep them up!

    ---------Ellen

  • I used to love to watch silent movies when I had more time before . I love their facial expression . Thank you for this wonderful video . 5 stars .Take Care ~Yiling

  • Thank you so much. I really do not watch that many silent movies. Clara Bow was in talkies too. I have only seen clips of her movies and documentaries about her career. Gracias!

    -------Ellen

  • Great choice of music for your very good video Ellen.

  • Some people had suggested that I used twenties music. Too bad, I did not listen to them. Maybe later though. Today I have been listening to Al Jolson.

    --------Ellen

  • Thank you Ellen for this fantastic video, I love old movies and photos, the expression of the faces are so seductive, intense, sweet....and I like the song too.

    Hugs, Tatiana

  • Dear Tatiana, I love looking through these old photos. That is why I keep making these videos.

    ----------Ellen

    --------Ellen

  • Thank you Ellen. The defining woman of

her century ! She had a profound effect on

those that saw her and did a tremendous

"lift" to female fashion and looks. It would

do the so called "IT" girls of today to try

to follow her example! They would come

nowhere near her for looks and beauty. Stay Safe ~ Keep the ROCK faith-----------

    ---------Mike.

  • Thank you so much for your positve remarks. I am definitely a fan of Clara Bow now, even though I did not see many of her movies.

    --------Ellen

    -------Ellen

  • I'm so excited..nice lyrics...I love this song, I sing this in our karaoke...nice video 5***** for you.

  • I am sure that it is a fun song to sing. Thank you for your nice comments.

    ---------Ellen

  • Liked the effects used with the photos. Gave it a different dimension. I remember that 80s song. ;)

  • Thank you for your nice comments. I saw the Pointer Sisters in concert in the seventies. I have always liked them.

    ---------Ellen

  • Np. ;) I also liked their song Automatic. I remember that one from the 80s too. ;) But, "Jump" was very popular.

  • AHHHH! I love Clara Bow. I loved your first tribute and this is a wonderful twin. Thank you, Ellen. A great Christmas gift!

    xxxClaudia

  • Yes. I used some of the other pictures, plus I found new pictures, well new to me. I am pleased that you are a fan of Clara Bow too.

  • The IT GIRL. I love her! You know it!

  • Yes, I remember that you have Clara's picture in your Icon. Thank you for your nice comments.

    -----------Ellen

  • Oh yeah, Ellen, you really picked the right song to bring this great video to life. Terrific posting. 5***** I really enjoyed this . Mary

  • I enjoyed practicing with these effects that are still new to me. Thank you for your nice remarks.

    --------Ellen

  • Damn Ellen, you are A M A Z I N G!! After 15 sec this was on my fav list. Used my new headphones, and believe this is one of your best ever videos. You are so talented. You even have it pulsating to the beat of the music!! I cant say how much i loved it. And in case you're wondering, from a male perspective, Clara Bow was GORGEOUS!

  • Thank you for your nice remarks. I used some of these effects in the last Elvis video. These effects need a faster tempo music. Since I wanted to try these effects again, I chose a song with a faster tempo than some of the other music with other videos.

    --------Ellen

  • So THAT is Clara Bow. You know what, I always thought she was Louis Brooks :-) Thank you Ellen. This is a very copious tribute vid. All those pics of her, wow... she was pretty and lovely. Big eyes and pouty lips... God, why was I thinking that she were Louis Brooks!?

Thank you for sharing this, Ellen...

    -suzi-

  • Thank you for your nice comments. I think that Clara Bow and Louise Brooks had a similar look sometimes, flapperish. They knew each other and worked together sometimes. I have a picture of the two of them together in old fashioned swimsuits in my Louise Brooks video. Clara also worked with Jean Harlowe, another one of my favorites.

    --------Ellen

  • Ellen, this is a great tribute video to Clara Bow...the song goes perfect with Clara's attitude, and the pics were just great...I read a biography about Clara years ago...she had a very interesting life, and very interesting lady...thank you for posting! Also...the special effects were great! John :)

  • I thought that the song sounded like a song for a modern day flapper, quite flapperish. Thank you for your nice comments.

    ---------Ellen

  • I looked at Pointer Sister songs because you suggested their music last summer. This is a fun song.

    --------Ellen

  • That's funny Ellen, I remember that now! lol :D

  • Great tribute to Hollywood's first "IT Girl"!

  • Thank you so much. I just barely got this posted.
