On the Biography Channel show Why I Ran, they interviewed a police officer that basically said skill had nothing to do with it. Recovering from a PIT maneuver is pretty much one of the definitions of "driving skill". That's like saying a jet pilot performing a loop-the-loop to evade another aircraft doesn't really show any flying skills.

This Mustang was also a stick shift so that just makes it exponentially more awesome.
