@asasasarap:You're correct.Going hand to knife is Hollywood crap.I'd leg kick & find a equalizer(brick,stick,bottle,e­tc.) because a hand can move faster than the eye can see & with a knife can be fatal.

@RememberScooter If one knows how to use it you can't disarm with bare hands without also getting cut.This means no grappling no way.Don't believe anybody telling you you can.The rest is for the movies.Using common sence I would recommend hitting his legs,wrapping a jacket on your arm or simply looking for a weapon while trying to keep reasonable distance,or a very quick hit to the face.A good run is also an option.

My dad learnt loads of these techniques in the Legion. One of them is just horrible:

Insert blade into captors spine just below the shoulder blades, while moving blade across, as well as making circular motions. You end up with a paralysed enemy that can be used as a warning, part of a trap/ambush or, my dads fav, bait to lure comrades into sniper fire.
