@dmp825 It DOES look like a Bugatti. But the essence here is it was a concept of Lexus for a certain movie. And the main point of this video is to show the rendering power of Maya's Hardware 2.0 renderer. :)
Nice video but why didnt u use mental ray, viewport 2.0 is a realtime engine also in order to get better results with it u can use CGFX Shaders( if u dont know what they are, basically they are realtime shaders) and on final thing the light effect at the end, did u use After Effects in comp to add it?
@TheIcemanModdeler Thanks for the protip. I will try playing with the CGFX Shaders and yes, the optical flares were added on After Effects. Just one question. If I render it with mental ray would it be as fast as VP 2.0 rendering? I rendered a simple scene with mr and guess what. It took me ~5 minutes a frame. lol
PS I saw your profile page. So it's true eh? You really committed yourself to computer graphics for at least a decade now, that's something you should be proud of. Anyways, thanks. :)
@KiNEXfilms First of all mental ray isnt as fast as viewport 2.0, if u saw my Opel Calibra animation that took about 3 days of rendering, and if i remember i was 300 frames, but it depends on the scene complexity and the pc, if u have a powerfull pc it will render faster. I've been doing 3d now for over 7 years and i dont just do it as a hobby i worked for a year in production and now i work at a gaming company and i just love it, i will probably be doing it all of my life.
@TheIcemanModdeler No. I meant iRay. It is an unbiased near-realtime photorealistic GPU renderer by mental images, and comes with mentalray 3.8 Standalone. /watch?v=nhXBx8l0iso
I would soooo luv to have one of these . Awesome design !! I have always wanted to give Maya a try :)

The music seems inappropriate for a Lexus. Should be classier -- like a classical piece, perhaps with a beat.

@chillyche Well the car was featured on a futuristic action movie and was used on a chase scene. Anywhore thanks for the tip. :)
