@CosmoShidan: Spike wears the same clothes because it's too expensive to animate a different wardrobe every episode. After Sparkplug lost his job (because of the oil platform collapse) he worked for the Autobots, helping Ratchet and Wheeljack repair damaged units and the like. :)

Watch the original series to answer your question Animated is just a comercial crap ! The original Tranformers weren't for kids it use to be those US series that shined like a Jewel currently al US animation is a crap and now the remake's. I know money and spponsors are importan but isn't it over doing it !

Honestly G1 transformers was wonderful in that cheesy, actioned 80s nostalgic way, but I think Animated pays the most homage to it more than any of its other incarnations. And to say Animated is driven by commercial gain is hypocrisy...why do you think they killed off all the G1 autobots and decepticons in the movie and replaced them with Rodimus and all those others? TO SELL MORE TOYS!

Thanks for watching! It was from episode 37 "Desertion of the Dinobots Part 2." About half way through, Spike, Carly, and Swoop are in a Data Disc viewing room on Cyberton, just before being captured and taken to the Pits. That is where they view the footage I opened the show with. I merely took out the scenes with them, and then under-saturated the footage to give it an "older and more faded" quality. And yes, they did already release all the episodes on DVD a few years back. That's how I have them. Big silver boxsets with artwork, summaries, copies of animation cels and the like.

I think I did hear that Sony was buying the show and re-releasing it soon.

If it's that new show on the Cartoon Network, I have not seen it. As a rule, I don't watch the shows on those channels anymore, too many commercials - even when the show is on the screen! So I wait for the dvd's. Thanks for clearing that guys question up for me. I'm sure I'll watch it later. ;]
