However, even in that movie she's supposed to be from Chicago yet talks with a Bronx accent. The best actors make adjustments to account for stuff like that in order to add credibility to their characters.

Not only is the "turkey time" part (0:00-0:12) badly written anyway, but I can't believe that the filmmakers didn't think for a second what a terrible idea it was to have those particular lines in that scene.
