Being somewhat new to chasing you find out quick that those clay roads when wet are worse than ice. Literally!! You fishtail doing 5 mile an hour. Thats why they went off the road.

This is a harmless tornado out in the middle of a field. No lives are in danger. Tornadoes are beautiful, amazing, and fascinating in that sense. But, just because people lose lives in these pieces of nature, does not by any means take away the beauty. And when people lose lives there is not much else you can do but hope the best for the family and pray.

How are they always able to see the tornado so well. We had one come through Norwalk, Iowa a few years ago and I'll I saw was a wall of water. Do you have to come up on the storm from the back or what?

Pretty much. Tornadoes usually occur on the southwest side of the storm just behind the heavy rain/hail shaft. But they sometimes can be rain wrapped and become very difficult to see. Not that I am suggesting you go chasing heh.

It wasn't something I planned, but quite the adrenaline rush. I'll never do it again though if at all possible, even though some of the stuff I saw was AWESOME! Especially the cow standing in the middle of the road looking confused as hell, and getting to watch a convenience stores canopy turned into shrapnel.
