  • All of this stuff about blaming the teachers, unions, and administrators need to stop! When I went to school the children didn't learn anything because we had parents who did not make educating their children a top priority and my father was included! All my teachers had a BA and a MA or working on one. If the principle is over a school that is falling apart should they spend the money they need to repair things or leave it as is effecting student performance? YOU CHOOSE!

  • I know you're goin' out with Delta and Jennifer,, but itz better than slitwristz

    (re the Murdoch scandal)

  • fuck you cato institute

  • @discountninjuh And, those who yell don't tax the rich really mean ,"Tax everyone else"

  • There is climate change. Agree, Scholars, HAH!

  • Scholars. HAH!

  • @discountninjuh Thank you. Everyone thinks the grass is greener on the ohter side of the fence, but it's actually greener over by the septic tank.

  • Stop ALL foreign aid immediately. Drag this alien "President" out of the USA and send him back to Africa where he was born.

    Elect Donald Trump President NOW!

  • Cato Institute scholars? What a freaking laugh. That whole libertarian schtick sounds great except the facts kill it dead in its tracks. Why is almost every European country a better place to live than any place more dominated by completely free markets? You can listen to the lies told to you by Cato and Rush visit these countries and see for yourself. To think that capitalism alone is capable of building a just society is almost comic except that a lot of idiots truly believe it.

  • Great fisking, guys.

  • maybe you prefer to buy the bullshit of bush $ cheyney. shut up

  • A bigger bullshitter you will not find!!!!!! I can see thru him like the plastic siran wrap that he is!!!

  • OBAMA: ONLY MAC USERS BUY YOUR BULLSHAIT.

  • @aallppiinnee Here's a Mac User that isn't buying the crap Obama's selling. I think there aren't many who will confidently stand behind what he says or does. They just like the posters. ;)

  • They DON'T GIVE A DAMN about the lives of Americans soldiers, innocent Iraqis, or about the lives of anyone; ...they seek to fatten their pockets and that is the only thing that matters to them!

    FUCK THE CATO INSTITUTE!!!

  • The only thing that they care about is money! If you can kill ppl and make money, then what is the quickest and least expensive way to kill ppl...

They have no morals or ethical standards to show for everything that they believe in and they seek to burn the Constitution and rewrite it in their own design! I don't believe that they are wrong on every aspect, such as the war in Iraq but, there isn't enough money coming out of Iraq to justify the war, as far as they are concerned!

  • Two very specific ideas supported by them is the idea that a corporations should be allowed to run state gov'ts and that a corporation should be allowed to run the federal gov't! After the ponzi schemes on Wall Street, the crash and burn failures of Jack Abramoff and Tom Delay, and the financial disasters of Enron, MCI WorldCom, Adelphia, Tyco, and Arthur Anderson, ....I don't fuckin' think so!!

  • @SpookeyR Get rid of corporations! All they do is make the stuff we own, give jobs we work at, pay taxes and invent stuff.

  • @luvcheney1: Well, I don't think we should get rid of corporations. I think that we, obviously, NEED to have more federal guidelines to restrict what it is that corporations can do and have control over! That doesn't necessarily mean more laws but, it does definitely mean that corporations need to be held accountable for their anti-American, anti-Western Civilization, anti-worker, and anti-consumer policies, which they all to often justify as 'cost cutting measures'.

  • @SpookeyR Regulations ARE laws. Banks, investment firms, already ARE regulated. Most of the disasters you mention involve fraudulent accounting, to hide a bankrupt corp`s problems. SEC regulations require accounting to be to standards. Fraudulent accounting is already against the law. AS far as "cost cutting measures", the average after tax profit of a US corp is 5%. WalMart is 3.7%, as is United Health, the nations largest health ins co. You pay $500 insurance premium, United makes $20.

  • This video is a joke!! The profile for the Cato Institute here on YT is an even bigger joke! The Cato Institute is an anti-American libertarian think-tank that is anti-worker, anti-consumer, anti-federal gov't, anti-security, anti-family, anti-minimum wage, pro-big business, pro-lobbyist, and pro-illegal immigration organization that thinks that only special ppl should be allowed to vote...only ppl appointed by them!

  • @SpookeyR Rurpert Murdoch was a director at Cato Institute. Enough said.

  • Do not worry about these guys. They are were against Bush, Mccain and now Obama. In fact I do not recall a candidate or president they liked. Many of the ideas they proposed in this video were discussed in congress and while most are good, oposition was too strong. So please tell something we don't know about.

  • Most people think true happiness is money and riches, but check this video out..

    watch?v=mY6kTZtrVhI

COPY PAST THAT on your URL BAR.

  • Every single one of us personally knows someone who is a total financial disaster - a bottomless pit when it comes to money.

Whether or not you think it's ultimately, "their fault", you damn well know they'll spend every cent they can get their grubby mits to, on drugs, gambling, alcohol, consumer debt, or waste out of plain laziness or incompetence.

If you wouldn't give one these people free access to your personal bank account, then why vote to yoke every working taxpayer to all of them?

  • people who are against obama hate him for what he stands for...but i was on his side and let me tell you : he is not at all following up on his campaign promises. He is presently loosing the youth vote. No shit. So he put himself in a lose-lose situation by appealing to the right who hates him...and losing the left that was supporting him

    Obama, your not getting reelected.

  • Obama is doing everything he campaigned for. Except for bringing an end to War... but other than that issue, he is on pace to "change" the America that was founded by our fore fathers to something more closely identified with Socialism. That IS what he campainged on... & by the way, I'm part of the educated youth that knows the Constitution... not a sheep that loves to hear that every thing is warm and fuzzy. Teach the Constitution to your children/parents! We must take our country back!

  • @HarrisonCountyStudio hmmm i disagree. He said he would do financial reforms..yet wall street is back on trading derivatives and creating another bubble. He said that he would do healthcare reform - well he took all the useful parts that went against insurance companies and removed them. He said hed close gitmo, hasnt happened and now hes going to trial the terrorists back in the military...another weaksauce bendover answer to the republicans. Obama is owned by big pharma, and doesnot wantreform

  • @restlys ... I was being Sarcastic. He said he would socialize our country and end the war. Obama is moving forward on his first promise.

Republicans and Democrats our owned by special interest groups!!! Union or Big Pharma, redistribution of wealth or taxation of it. Read the Constitution. The Federal Government is Fraudulent. Bush Bailed out Banks Obama Bailed out AIG and UAW. Now he wants to bail out states with national health care. Our country will free fall until the masses wake up!

  • @HarrisonCountyStudio not true. Listen if you have a bank that....for example...controls 80 % of the credit card business...if that bank falls, a huge part of the economy goes kaput. So the bail out itself was not the wrong thing to do. The wrong thing to do was Not regulate the institutions in a way to avoid repeating what happened. that did not happen

"Socialize our country"..your not saying anything, socializing part of your country can be a good thing. Look at it case by case, then wel argu

  • So... if the company that I owe $140,000 to for my house or owe $15,000 worth of my credit card debt, goes out of business a huge part of the economy goes kaput? I say BS! What happens in a free capital market is best. Guys smarter than me and you, come in and buy pieces of this co. for 20-30% of true value, restructure the business and create a better co. They hire new people, create new jobs, and most of all make a proffit, so we slaves don't have to bail them out.

  • IF bail outs work, why didn't President Carter bail out the textile industry in NC and SC? We lost 100,000+ jobs... but guess what happend? Thank God the government didn't get involved, that area of the country had the freedom to produce what the people were willing to pay for, the "Medical Triangle" and technology industry has now taken the place of these lower paying textile jobs. Hey, if you want to buy $10 jeans at WalMart, then someone other than an American is going to make it.

  • What social program is good and what is bad, i guess, depends on the one whom is entitiled. So, I half hartedly ask: What social programs do you think are a Good thing for our counrty? What social programs do you think are bad?

And my real question is, what article in the US Consititution gives the Federal Government the right to inact what ever social program that the reigning powers may deem "Good"?

Now, if you like state ran health care, move to Mass. If not, don't move to Mass

  • @HarrisonCountyStudio well, im interested in helping the middle class...so tax cuts for the rich = not a good thing....i also believe that people should all be playing on a leveled playing field....so for instance, schools in poor neighborhoods are inferior - that is unfair for these kids. put money into that

as for healthcare, dude im canadian :)

  • @restlys Say a rich guy keeps a fancy whore in an expensive condo, with fur coats, Cadillac, diamonds, credit card at Nordstroms, fancy dinners at fancy restaurants. If you tax that away from the rich guy, you hurt the real estate co that leases the condo, the maintanaince men, the doorman, lower condo values, tax base, Cadillac dealership and its employess, Union auto workers, jewelry salesman commissions, waitress trying to support herself, cooks, bus people, restauranteur, etc, etc.

  • @luvcheney1 I can tell you dont know any rich people....when you get to a certain financial situation - your money makes you money. You start to invest left and right based on your salary...sure, but also the value of previous investments and capital worth. What you need to consider, is that rich people do not take out all their money, and sell all their assets(that gained value) to buy more shit(that gets taxes). They die, give the billions to family, not taxed at all.

  • @restlys If a farmer farms corn with a hoe, with rainfall as the irrigation system, he grows very little. If he has the capital to irrigate properly a big plot of land, and has a large tractor, he produces a lot, lives better. Capital increases productivity, and increased productivity means better living conditions. Taxing away from the rich destroys capital, and capital is what we need so we have faster machines than the Chinese do, otherwise we cant compete.

  • @luvcheney1 buddy, mb you ought to look at how subsidized farming is........before you rant at taxing....

  • @restlys I talked about the hoe, and tractor, to demonstrate that productivity increases living standards, and requires capital. The rich invest more, therefore taxing them to give to the poor, destroys capital, and long term growth of the standard of living. Examples, are Mexico, and Venezuela, South Africa, where natural resource profits went to the poor, and then leave little capital for finding new areas with resources, and then production and living standards spiral downward.

  • @restlys Did you want to abandon your own choice of subject, taxation, already? And go on to subsidies? Seems like when you got 1 post on taxes, you run like the fucking coward you are, Canuck.

  • @restlys But, we SEE where Obama spends it, and stupid people dont even realize the hurt that happens. Taxing the rich just moves money from one pile to another, helping some, at the expense of others, who are NOT rich!. Besides, a rich man may not spend it on a whore only, he may open anothet business, employing many, creating new capital, instead of consuming it.

  • @luvcheney1 No, a rich mans has the power to become richer...lobbying governmetn to cut taxes for himself and his company. Thus - creating more strain on the middle/poor class to pay up the taxes by having their services cut(either proactively or retroactively).

Plus, you need to realize that from the p.o.v. of the state, you generate more income by investing in education and spending 20k to a poor person, than giving that 20k in a tax cut to a multi millionaire.

  • @restlys The OECD nations ( about 30 modern) have an average of about a 27% corporate tax rate. The US is about 35%. You have heard that Exxon ( and many others) pay little to no US income taxes? Because only an idiot would look at the world, and decide to do in the US what you can do somewhere else, giving the difference, 8%, to the US govt. So, they pay another nation`s income tax, and leave profit OUTSIDE the US. Why? Because guys like you think it is smart to tax heavily. Jeez...read!

  • @restlys Canada didnt bail out its banks, there wasnt an issue. And, the 5 or 6 big banks are all over the country, more places than ours, and are in the brokerage business, insurance business, etc. They are free to engage in other activities, as our banks do since repeal of Glass Steagall ( deregulation). You need another villian, because Canada disproves your narrative. ( Hong Kong too).

  • @luvcheney1

i wasnt mentioning my canadian origins to address banks, i mentioned it to tackle the healthcare perspective. As it happens, our banks are way more regulated than yours, so the crash affected us less. I dont know what you are trying to argue in that specific post.

  • @restlys I guess the FACT that Canada didnt have banking failures during the great depression, while we had thousands doesnt interest you? And that state charters in the US REQUIRED banks to be small, stay in their states, while Canadian banks were huge and national? Or that they didnt bail out theirs recently either? AND their banks are still national, more so than ours, and are into insurance, brokerage activities, commercial banking as well? Financial supermarkets!!

  • @luvcheney1 US Banks are much more regulated than Canadian Banks. Comparing Canada to the US is apples and oranges. They have massive resources for the population close to that of California.

  • @benscoot My point was that the US banking system IS more regulated, and the result was far worse, wasnt it? Many Libs point to Glass- Steagal repeal as a cause of crisis, in that it allowed banks to go into more banking areas, expand, but Canada`s banks always could do what the repeal allowed, and no crisis. Hong Kong doesent regulate banks, is also great banking system, like Canada. Of course, Canada didnt encourage banks to use a mirror, to see if you can fog it up, as a qualification tool.

  • @luvcheney1 I see. I totally agree with you. Sorry I misunderstood what you said earlier.

  • @restlys To have a bubble in a widely held asset class, there must be a corresponding increase in the money supply. If the money supply doesnt grow, no bubble can form. Wall Street didnt create the easy money, low interest rate policies that doubled the money supply from 1995 to 2005, the Fed did. Politically, its easier for the govt to blame someone other than itself, BUT the true cause will not then be addressed.

  • @luvcheney1 disagree. A bubble can simply happen when people expect that an unsustainable growth level to sustain itself forever. I believe this is what happened in the housing market, people expect 5-8 % price hikes to occur ever year, giving the incentive to provide loans to poor people cuz the value was for sure rising faster than the cost of risk associated with them not paying back.

  • @luvcheney1: ...or haven't you looked at the Gulf of Mexico recently!??

  • @restlys I dont suppose you are aware that "derivatives" were traded in ancient Mesopotamia 5000 years ago? Bet you PERSONALLY own derivatives.

  • evil comes in all colors. lol

  • This country is on track to bankruptcy and we the people are on track to 21st century surfdom.

  • Barack Obama's lies are unending. We're watching a disaster in the making. Truly disgusting.

  • This country is so ****ed.

  • Interesting that Senator obama voted for EVERY spending increase proposed or implemented by the Bush administration and sent two letters to the W.H. criticizing the President for not spending enough (obama interview with Chicago Tribune) yet he continues his hypocritical blaming. Blaming G. Bush is only a distraction from all the LOSSES and FALIURES of OBAMA and his administraion, to date!

  • I think people are starting to see that speaking with eloquence and style mean nothing when what your saying is crap.

  • finnaly.proffessors decide to stand up to communism.this is the America i like to see.

  • Jeremiah 50 and 51 read carefully

  • Yes climate change is real, it changes every day it used to be called the weather and it will happen again tomorrow. My environment would change for the better if my tax dollars weren't spent on needless weather studies that folks like you insist upon to curb your environmental end times god. Face it the studies were crap the gig is up it's time to turn on the lights and all the kids to go home, games over.

  • @tallbergs if you think climate and weather are the same thing you should use that computer of yours and look at some facts. Gosh, you people are driving me nuts with your ignorance.

  • Climate change is real, and to an extent so is global warming. Man does have a direct effect on the planet but please remember to factor out the natural effects of our ever changing solor system.

The main issue here is the overuse of "green" leverage by political entities as a tactic more so than true intentions to preserve our environment. Most of the hype consolidates special intrests rather than spur true inovation in an advanced ecosystem.

  • This video is excellent! All the points are right on!

  • I have no problem with folks from another religion, origion or race - why should I? You are not to choose who you parents got to be nor where you born nor how you been raised.

Guess that is a new concept to you alltogether.

  • Great points made in the video.

  • So what? Corporations fund almost everything. Who do you think funds Obama?

And Murdoch's company, News Corporation, is but one of myriad large media conglomerates such as Walt Disney Co., Viacom, Time-Warner, General Electric, etc. You're entitled to your opinion, but get your facts straight and don't abuse hyperbole.

  • Do you understand the idea of "funding"? Would you fund a murderer? Funding is supporting and embracing ideas that you agree with. It's pretty clear that Rupert Murdoch, known for his ruthless monopolization of media, supports the so-called "free markets", rather than equality.

Corporations control everything. That's the problem. There's only one economic philosophy that destroys that.

  • Sometimes, you fund a study... to help you make an informed decision. If a corporation funded a study and the results came back unfavorably, the corp. may end the funding. However, the facts are still relevant. Further more, another entity may pick up the funding to support their cause.

To a large extent, I agree with you "Corporations" control alot. However, there is only one reason for this... because our Fed Gov. is full of congressman looking to hand out favors to the biggest players!

  • lol no corps would actually go in there and try to modify the results/conclusions.

  • @diapasonify you actually believe in such a thing as "equality"? What equality are you suggesting destroys that also?

  • @diapasonify, Not the entire media industry. He doesn't own Youtube.:)

  • Do you see Pelosi in the background? I know Morse code. Pelosi is blinking T-O-R-T-U-R-E.

Either She is still traumatized from being held by the north Vietnamese, or she doesn't like listening to Obama.

I think Obama means: "families around the country are tightening their belts, and the US government should do the same, we will also tighten your belts".

Public money and government stimulus is like giving people heroin to make them feel better. Big Government is like a drug pusher.

  • It's Bush's fault!

  • Nobama supporters should check out the trailer to ''FRAUD'' on youtube.

  • How about you check your own vagina.

  • Obama is trying to get the support of independents back after Massachusetts election and his tanking approval rating by trying to appeal to every special interest out there.

  • Only 20% of Cato's funding comes from private enterprise. The rest are from private donors of citizens which includes students like me.

They don't rely on money from government (i.e. the taxpayers).

I happily support Cato. It may not be much, but I consider it an investment bc I want my freedoms both economicaly and personal in the future of this country.

I find it funny that you mention corp. that make your life much better and you yourself benefit from.

  • The US is suppose to be about individual liberties and freedoms, not special treatment for collectives and groups.

The US is suppose to be about equal opportunity, not socialized equal outcome.

The US Constitution was basically made to protect the people from big reckless government. Think about it.

Obviously, obama is transferring power to government, forcing Americans to become more reliant and dependent on government.

If you control the economy you control the people, as seen by Hitler..!

  • i'm a progressive who worked to get obama elected and i see that he is just a puppet for wallstree and we are all screwed. I'll support howard dean or any legit third party in the future.

  • Why is Obama, so big head. Has any body looked at the the Free-Market Approach to Health Care Reform. Obama is not even considering it, why?

Because the only people that would benefit from this kind of legislation would be the American people.

Does this country want to be in Middle East for 20 year fighting a un-winnable war?

  • Here's a hint for you guys, don't put some fool leftist intellectual up to tell us about the failures in Iraq. It is clear that she has no idea what she is talking about and it is a slap in the face of our troops and the Iraqi people. Libertarians need to stick with domestic policy, I wouldn't trust them with foreign policy any more than I would trust Code Pink.

  • @anfiach then I guess you wouldn't have trusted our founding fathers either...those stupid intellectual libertarian fools who wrote the constitution and all that garbage..

  • They weren't intellectuals, i.e. they didn't sit behind a desk pontificating and telling themselves they are intelligent. I said they should stay away from foreign policy. That woman is ignorant. You guys love sitting on your couch talking about things half the world away, never having been there yourself.

  • WOW! I can't tell you how refreshing it is to see honest and intelligent objections to Obama's policies, rather than having to listen to nonsensical crap like "Nobama" and "stop obamacare."

This is exactly how important policy decisions should be criticized, so well done CATO. My vote would still go to Obama though, since Ron Paul wasn't given a fighting chance by the system.

  • @21blubird Hey, that looks like the same list that contributed to Obama's election!!! YES, the very same people!!! Despite this, they still call it as they see it....

  • And the Democrats have a list just as long. I would expect a foundation based on freedom and liberty to have a lot of support.

  • To anyone who disagrees with this analysis, including liberals and conservatives... start using the scientific method & cause and effect in your conclusions.

What CATO isn't advocating are policies that aren't "well intentded" bc intent doesn't equate to "desired" effects. This is what sets libertarians apart from other political idealogies. What CATO (and Mises Inst.) advocates are policies that historically advances personal and economic freedoms to society.

    Libertarian proud!

  • watch?v=9qixcv8PT0U

  • CATO institute, the right hand of Exxon. Yeah we trust you, we believe you, and will follow you. Only certain segments of our society are manipulated with your lies and propaganda. Libertarine a**hats who worship at the throne of Cheney & Rand.

  • @carrjack The Cato Institute is a libertarian think tank headquartered in Washington, D.C.

Cato's scholars advocate positions that are appealing to many on the left-hand side of the American political spectrum, including support for civil liberties, liberal immigration policies, and equal rights for gays and lesbians

Now I wouldn't say that's birthers, baggers and blowhards. They are really more for Obama, but even the Liberalist see through Obama's lies.

  • What is the connection between CATO and birthers? You really are a blowhard.

  • lol American politicians are all in the back pockets of the elite 2% of the population that's the truth.

crying and complaining won't change that.

  • At 9:38, he says he has a better health care plan, "How about we give people buy health care on their won the same tax break as we give to those get through their work, so when people lose their job, they will not lose their health care". I do not see how give tax break can result in keeping health care when you lose your job. I have lost my job, do not pay much tax anyway, but I still need to pay my own health care out of my dwindled income. I do not see how tax break is going to help me much.

  • Vivi, what Cato has in mind is the more people shop around for their health insurance (HI), the more likely prices for HI would drop and plans would become more geared toward what we want.

Ideally, if we only had HI for rare occurences, we could shop for each medical procedure. This would mean, whoever provides the best service at the best price for X, would be rewarded with our business for X.

Pprices drop and quality improves when the consumer is in charge and not some third-party.

  • Yep, it makes it really easy to find a Hillbilly - just go to the nearest trailer park with internet access!

  • Has it occurred to any of you hillbilly's that the Feds are monitoring all these sites because they know you crack pots want to see him hang - just the way ya did back in the day when you would go to church and then have a picnic and hang a nigger!

  • cato institute...lol

  • Obama is mentally unstable and we're in big trouble.

  • Impeach this train wreck bag of hot air that refuses to produce his long form ribbon copy birth certificate from 1961. He has spent 1.7 million of your tax dollars with US attorneys to keep said birth certificate from us. Over 50 cases shot down on standing...never on substance.

  • "scholars" lol

  • what's the difference. chances are any slightly complicated discussion all sound pretty much the same in your ears, right or not.

  • yeah, you're so right. harvard phd students can't follow slightly complicated discussions.

  • I don't want to see Obama's birth certificate; I want to see his academic records. Someone with the education he claims to have should not be this asinine. I think he got his degree off the internet.

  • $1,000 bucks says our next president will be Bilderberg group too.

  • Bush=Obama

    Obama=Bush

    Google search: Bilderberg group.

In 2006 Daniel Estulin and James Tucker were able to predict the imfamous gas spike of 2008 and the following housing collapse thanks to leaked information from the 2006 Bilderberg conference. The proof is on youtube, look for "Endgame"

  • yeah it took bush 8 years to fuck everything up and now everyone expects all of the blunders to be fixed in one year.

  • There are two really sad things here.

    1. You believe Bush is the reason for the current status of America.

    2. You cannot provide to me 1 regulation, or one Bill that passed between 2000 and 2008 that put us in this situation.

  • well when the new guy does more damage in one year than the last guy did in 8 that is understandable.

I thought the new guy was supposed to be different.

I'm still waiting on my pony.

  • cato institute, give me a break.

  • In referring to the portion on colleges and edu.--

If I'm interpretting this correctly, maybe the solution to not having school tuition/cost, etc. go up is to freeze the tuition rates. Freeze is not the right word here, but maybe allow only a set percentage of increase over the next 'x' number of years so that this proposal can be implemented and schools, therefore, cant' charge more. I'm no business or econ junkie, but that sounds plausible.

  • It doesn't matter if a president is Democrat or Republican the all answer to the International Bankers who run the WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Vote buying at its finest. You get up there and promise everyone you're going to give them something that you stole from someone else or are just charging on the national credit card and you believe you can get them to vote foryou because of the handout.

The Democrats always did this with the poor, the effort lately has been to get all middle class people on the dole in one way or another as well and slaves to the state. This was why children's health care billcovered families making 80grand

  • Obama can't say anything that will appease the right wing because he doesn't mean anything he said. The whole time he talked about change while he was running and everything is just getting worse. You can keep you change.

  • Obama must think himself a wizard. For him to pull off even 3% of what he said in the speech would be magic enough.

Folks, magic isn't real, and Obama, like any other politician, is naturally full of shit.

  • seeing the level of dissent to this speech makes me wonder what the fuck he could have said to make you right fascists appeased.

ANYTHING he says you critique, where do you get off?

Bush gave the worst speeches is history.

    he was terrible.

everyone you present from the right gives terrible speeches.

If he reaches out, his hand gets bit. if he is partisan he gets reamed.

fuck you republicans you represent sub 20% of this country and everyone knows it.

  • historico, no, you're misremembering, all of Bush's State of the Union speeches were good, he stumbled around when he was speaking impromptu, like in press conferences or at campaign stops. Obama avoids this by hardly ever speaking impromtu.

  • This president is a complete buffoon.

I just can't say anything else. This man is so out of touch with anything that remotely looks like reality it's astonishing to me.

    Just astonishing.

  • Occidental College has released transcripts indicating Barry Soetoro (Obama) received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia in a suit brought in the Superior Court of California. He was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program. Also, Justice Scalia announced on Tuesday the Supreme Court would hear arguments concerning Obama's legal eligibility to serve as President in a New Jersey case.

  • Please will he just stop talking. I am so tired of hearing Obama preach. His words have no integrity. His policies are costing us dearly. STOP SPENDING and stop big government getting involved in our economy and our lives.

  • Obammy's mentor as a teen in Hawaii was a self-proclaimed communist and pedophile. Throw in his communist mother and grandparents and it's easy to see why he is so mentally inept.

  • Obama was already an ardent Marxist as a sophomore at Occidental College when I met him in the fall of 1980.

  • The best State of the Union speech I've ever heard.

  • This must be your first one.

  • That's like saying "The best Hot Pocket I ever ate."

  • This guy lies everytime he opens his mouth, and the people know it! He has already failed because nothing he said he was going to do has come to pass, and you can not spend your way out of debt!

  • Obama's policies are all spending and taxing. Sometimes I feel they are trying to destroy America. I don't want to be like Europe with slow growth, stagnate economies, high taxes, less freedom , high prices. We are the best Country in the world. Our Constitution has made us the most prosperous and strongest Country for over 200 years, why do they want to destroy it?.

  • They dont like Ron Paul either? hard to gain face with these people eh?

  • Great video

  • Fantastic video, five stars!

  • I got a jobs bill for his desk. Fire Every politician and hire amateurs. They do better than you and your ilk. They sure as hell can't do worse !

  • Obama is the biggest whiner and sleezeball. Worst president in history.

  • @09090985 we've had some stinkers, but this guy is particularly bad....

  • The thing is, he is actually very unpopular. That's easy to forget watching all of his cronies grinning around him.

  • Sounded more like a Hitler Speech to me.

  • 9:22 Replaced a Sunni dictator for a Shiite dictator? Um, no. You lost me on that one CATO.

  • I'm guilty of confusing Republicans with liberals, as the two are really indistinguishable at this point, as joedoufu makes that point so very clear.

  • Excellent video.

    Oh, and vote LIBERTARIAN!

  • I sure as hell don't, but given that this absolutely little difference between both parties, what option is there?

Republicans like socialism (i.e. medicare, military industrial complex, etc), warfare, and expanding the power of government to obscene levels.

Democrats like socialism (i.e. health care, education, etc), warfare, and expanding the power of government to obscene levels.

    Not much choice is there?

  • Think you might want to research and you will see there is a difference. Bush was a Progressive Republican. He was never a Conservative.

Obama ran as a centrists and as soon as he was elected, he ran to the far-left Progressive side. Bush and Obama are one and the same.

As far as the parties, there are stark differences and ideologies. There was not much choice between Oblahblah and McCain and the uneducated and weak-minded fell for the hope and change myth.

I would vote them all out!

  • Agreed. I mean, hell, it was McCain who stopped his campaign for the sole purpose of running to Washington to support the TARP bailouts-- the very epitome of all that's wrong in with the Republican party.

  • Progressive Republican = Neoconservative

  • You are correct. Bush was a Progressive Republican. Notice that Obama kept a lot of Progressive Republican holdovers from Bush?

  • On foreign policy, what's the difference? Both groups entertain the absurd notions that America's friendship with Israel is the cause of Islamic terror, that weakening our defenses will discourage our enemies from attacking us, and that America regularly fights wars for "imperialism" or to steal oil or something.

  • That would be the liberals, not conservatives.

  • Remember when Ronald Reagan was president, we also had Bob Hope and Johnny Cash still with us... Now we have Obama and no hope and no cash.

  • You're a corporate whore.

  • holy shit, that student loan BS, what an epicly massive moral hazard.

  • Being a Patrotic American it is my duty to watch and listen to the State of the Nation...from the President.

I tried, but kept gagging and got light headed.

He is a lair and a phony, America hater.

  • I get that Cato is a libertarian group, but honestly you'd do better for yourselves if you stuck to the stuff that's good about libertarianism, and avoided drawing attention to the nutty bits. The Paulnut girl at the end of the video denouncing our "occupation" of Iraq turned a good video into a stupid one.

  • Bankrupting our country to empower Iran was the stupid move. Bush said in 2000 he would end nation-building adventures (watch?v=F9SOVzMV2bc), and that's why libertarians (who make up about 15% of the electorate) voted for Bush.

When the swing vote realized Bush was nothing but a liar, he was voted out in 2008. People don't want candidates that bankrupt their country (causing unemployment) for military adventures. As much as Obama is a warmonger, he too will be voted out in 2010.

  • Bush was not "voted out", he reached his term limit. You can pretend that America is not at war with Islamic terror, but that doesn't make it so. Reasonable people can argue about the strategies we've tried, but the insinuation that America fights its wars for "fun" or "adventure" betrays your gullibility or eagerness to believe in conspiracy theories.

  • I meant his party, was an omission.

You can pretend that boogeymen 10000 miles away hiding in a cave pose a threat to the U.S., and that by scanning children naked, we'll be alleviating a threat that kills twelve times less people, per year, than suffocating oneself with blankets accidentally while sleeping. Pretend all you want.

I'm worried about maintaining employment, taking care of myself, and ensuring my kids have a bright future. The real threat is what govt poses to that.
