Mufasa: Everything you see exists together in a delicate balance. As king, you need to understand that balance and respect all the creatures from the crawling ant to the leaping antelope.
Simba: But dad, don't we eat the antelope?
Mufasa: Yes, Simba. But let me explain. When we die, our bodies become the grass, and the antelope eat the grass. And so, we are all connected, in the great circle of life.
I was sooo happy that you uploaded the uncut soundtrack of this film because many versions don't give the complete score, including to a track in the film like this, and this is one of my favorites, especially when Simba wakes up his parents, then gets the lessons from his father about being a king.
Despite what verulence says in the description, this is not the piece as heard in the movie...there is a little flute variation on the 'Busa' theme where Simba is trying to wake Mufasa up, which is not heard here!
Verulence, I noticed that at 1:03 in this track there's supposed to be a flute that plays a nice little fluttery melody, right at the part in the film where Simba's trying to wake up his father, and it's not on this recording. Know what the reason is?
amazing how this tune is majestic and mysterious when mufasa is describing their kingdom and yet becomes incredibly mournful in darker scenes without any changes to the music itself.
1:48 onwards is almost physically painful to listen to. I want to listen to it over and over again but I don't want to desensitize myself to its beauty. Stupid brain.
My friend doesn't know who Darth Vader is, doesn't understand what a lightsaber is, is vastly confused by the plot of Lord of the Rings, hasn't read the Harry Potter series, and hadn't seen Toy Story until her little sister asked to watch it before they went to see Toy Story 3. This is forgivable. But what I absolutely can't believe is that she's never seen the Lion King!! I'm going to have to tie her down and force her to watch it with me.
@euterpemuseful This is all very shocking to me. Except, not reading Harry Potter. I never got into Harry Potter either. But, HOW in the world has your friend not watched The Lion King or Toy Story series??
@jojoxx1231 I was so surprised when she told me! Since Toy Story 3 came out, I lent her my old VHS's of Toy Stories 1 and 2 to watch with her sister, but we're still working on Lion King. Maybe I'll get her the BlueRay version for Christmas!
"Everything we see exists together in a delicate balance. As king, we need to understand that balance, and respect all the creatures, from the crawling ant to the leaping antelope."
"But Dad, don't we eat the antelope?"
"Yes, Simba, but let me explain. When we die, our bodies become the grass, and the antelope eat the grass....and so, we are all connected in the great Circle of Life."
Huh. What's funny is that I just realized at 0:50, this score also plays when Timon says "Gee, he looks blue," and Pumbaa goes "I'd say brownish gold!" :)
@Phersephoie I'm sorry Simba, I cannot tell you what that is until we produce a pretty shit direct-to-video sequel in a few years time to make some moneyss
Timon's mom: "Look Timon.. Come on, look. Look out to the horizon, past the trees, over the grassland.. everything the light touches.. belongs to someone else"
Timon: "Funny, I thought you were going a whole different direction with this"
I honestly think this movie, out of all the films in Disney history, is the greatest in terms of musical score. I can't think of a single other disney film that even comes close to the epicness of this one's music
its strange. people keep calling Simba's dad "Mufasa". I could have sworn it was "Mustafa". But judging by the number of "Mufasa" references I've seen written on Lion King soundtrack boards, I'll assume I was mistaken.
well there are certianly similarities and I'm sure that the people at disney were inspired by Kimba for some parts, The Lion King has a better story. you care more about the characters.
i know, just the opposite of his brother, who was smarter than him to be truthful, Mufasa was brave, firm, gentle, fair, Scar was calculating, unforgiving, depressed, and hostile.
and all this will be mine ...... everything...everything the light toutchs what about that shadowy place......thats beond our borders u must never go there simba.....but i thort a king could do what ever he wants....theres more then been king then getting your way all the time.....theres more
Hey! Everyone who listens to TLK score!!! I was thinking that I should upload a newer version of it with much higher quality audio. I was just wondering if any of you would want that...
Thanks for putting this up! I wonder why the music is a bit different from 1:04 to 1:32... maybe this is an earlier version? Oh well, it's still awesome!
Usually I find when you buy scores (Though I know this is an unofficial one) some of the pieces of music are different. I've found this with a couple pieces of the Pirates of the Caribbean track for some reason. Its strange, but yes, still awesome! XD
I'm pretty sure this is how it is in the movie (excluding any volume issues that I fixed). I went back forth from the movie and the distorted audio samples to make sure I resampled it in the right pitch. I don't know... maybe I'm wrong. It was long time a go @_@
It is similar for the most part, just at 1:04 I think there is an extra flute part in the movie (right as Simba is running inside the rock around the other lions), but it's back to normal by the time they go back outside at 1:32. Either way, it's still a great piece of music!
Yes. There's also another change in "This Is My Home", in the film there's an extra beat to match Simba's foot touching down on the dead land after the "Busa" desert segment.
@sapphire200182 Oh, it's alright we figured it out. It was just the extra instrumentation that isn't in a few seconds of this version, but other than that it's as it is in the movie. :)
Best move, best soundtrack.:) I love TLK.
