I love this track, but how could Jay have been so stupid to even engage in a rap war with Nas? Jay can rap, he can freestyle, but shit man he gets murdered even when he's not in battle. L's 97' freestyle w/him Jay got fucking murdered. I can't even listen to that track without cringing at Jay's embarrassing follow up... Jay's good, but i don't see how he made it to legend status other then his continuity of slightly above average hiphop albums...

Um, the Blueprint was incredibly mainstream, dude. I lived in the suburbs and a bunch of white kids had the album and the songs had heavy rotation on MTV, BET, and mainstream radio play. Song Cry, H to the Izzo, Girls, Girls, Girls, and Heart of the City. And you're the only one I've seen who claim that Stillmatic wasn't a great album. The Source, which is the hip hop Bible, gave it 5 mics. Don't act like niggas wasn't feeling that album just bc you weren't.

Stillmatic is an average album in my objective opinion, I've heard many albums that sounded better than that that I rate as 'good' so it wouldn't be far to rate it among them. I know many people feel like you, but many, many more who agree with me, most of those with years of musical knowledge.

Stillmatic doesn't get that, an album that does however is Illmatic and if you're telling me Stillmatic is in it's league is disrespectful.
