funny i actualy own mass effect 2 on all 3 versions and find obviously runs best on pc but i find it runs better on ps3 then 360 but it could be cause it was realeased a year later
If the PS3 version could run as smoot as in the video, would be great. Or just 30 FPS, why? I dont know, how it runs on xbox, but it have to be better. And it has AA too. Maybe it has the ME3 engine, but its ugly in 720p, without AA and just 25 fps average.
I don't understand why do you have to pay for the comic....I understand 6 + hours additional content but COMIC? come on..like for example I have beaten the game twice already and I STILL don't know the backstory that well because I never had 360 or a powerful PC.....like a FUCKING COMIC phew. I prefer my PS3 but I played both games on PC before I heard about the PS3 release. But I hate the cannon events of ME1 so unless they re-release ME1 I'm not buying it. Hell, even just have a set of options for pre ME2 events. Wrex and the Council must live, Ash must die. That's the way I see it. So enjoy guys but it's just not worth playing without the original.
@Meganlover1998 Dragon Age was a very, very bad port to the PS3. Frames and gameplay are everything. DA:O lacked both. The experience is far greater on PC. DA2 runs a bit smoother, but It's so damn linear, and every texture, environment is recycled.
ME2 was a surprisingly good attempt at PS3. I don't expect 3rd party dev's to nail the PS3 like Naughty Dog, Guerrilla Games, etc.. BioWare still did a nice job on ME2.
Ps3 was only given Mass Effect 2, Bioware didn't bother to create a ps3 platform mass effect 1 as Microsoft already owns the rights to it. That would be a shame seeing how there are several important choices in that game that affects ME2. The pre-selected choices are shitty.

@Jayson619 3D is a gimmick, I tried playing a game on PS3 in 3D and it only had small difference but all the textures and everything turned washed out and blurry. So the graphics actually got worse when using 3D.

The Hardware on the 360 does not suck. It's GPU (not CPU) is more powerful spec wise compared to the PS3. Although the CPU is more powerful on the PS3. The means equality.

It might run better technically on the PS3, but you'll never have the full experience unless you play it on 360. To play ME1 and ME2, and the continuity that goes through it, is just something that you need to get the full experience. Still a good game, but about 10x better if you played the first one.
I have both systems so I can play all games instead of arguing and whining that I cant play certain single console games. If you really care that much, just go out and buy the other system, their really not that expensive and its very much worth it.

Fantastic game on the Xbox, and I've got a PSN copy to play for comparison's sake. Unfortunately, this launch trailer pales in comparison to the 360/PC launch trailer.

I considered buying this to the PS3, but I really wanted to enjoy ME 1 and import the save to ME 2 on the Xbox. The PS3 users have the comic to choose mayor things but there's still many things PS3 owners won't experience. BioWare stated that if you have a save file from ME 1 and ME 2 brought to ME 3, there's over 1000 possible variables.
So I think Xbox users gets the whole trilogy completed, and the PS3 owners gets a "cake with a strawberry on top", so to say

Dragon Age Origins PS3 was dog shit. Characters were half rendered, the ghosts looked like they were eaten by Pacman (floating eyes and teeth), and...you get the idea.
Bioware has taken to saying lots of crap to sell a game. "PC is where it's at. 360 is great. PS3 has better range, etc.). Hopefully this won't be a pretty but half-assed Rockstar-type port. If anything having the game on one disc will be fantastic. (bought 360 version too)
@GaaraCreed If you play the PS3 version, you get to determine some actions through a brief overview of ME1 before starting the game. If you play the PC or 360 version, without a save you default to not saving the council, rescuing Kaidan if you're female, Ashley if you're male, and Wrex dies.
A good series like ME shouldn't be confined to one platform. That's why they ported the first game to windows and eventually released the second one simultaneously for PC and Xbox. They'd have released it on the PS3 much sooner if the coding wasn't so different from Xbox and PC.
Xbox players can keep their Halo and PS3 ones their Killzone and God of War but let Mass Effect be enjoyed by all!
I owned a 360 in 2007 and played Mass Effect 1 when it came out. I can say its easily one of the best games of this generation. Months later I got bored with the 360 and got rid of in favor of a PS3 and I been happy with it, but I did miss Mass Effect's story and sadly missed out on the sequel's story. Thankfully in 4 days I will be able to play it and enjoy ME again, and ME 3 comes out in November 9, 2011 so It's gonna be a great year.
@LCash523 You should of kept the 360, It feels much better playing the game when you have the save game file from ME1 and it will be much better when you have ME1 & ME2 save files changing ME3 to suit the choices you made in those two games. It really brings out the RPG element in the game. Decisions Decisions Decisions.
This is good, as well as somewhat pointless unless ME1 is released for the PS3 also, as you'd be starting out half way through the current story without any idea what happened in the previous games except small hints throughout the game which basically mean nothing unless you've experienced the first game. Good idea, failed miserably.

just bought a ps3 two weeks ago and I love it but it really does suck ps3 isn't getting mass effect 1 just a 15 minute comic book going over the events of mass effect 1 I'm sorry ps3 ONLY gamers a 15 minute comic can't replace an ENTIRE game so for that reason only my mass effect experience is staying on the xbox 360 but regardless I hope you guys enjoy this awesome game like everyone else has it truly is one of the best games of all time.
I'm aware Bioware will have enough money to fund Mass Effect 3 but with a larger audience they will be more inclined to create lengthy and quality DLC to go with it. In terms of what is next for Bioware is down to speculation. It wouldn't make sense for them to stop making games. They are an ambitious studio and I'm sure whatever they create will be leaps and bounds ahead of anything done before. What I'm interested in though is good writing. Can't wait for Friday. @xXxPieGuyxXx Well Bioware has another couple DLCs lined up for us to bridge ME2 to ME3, ME3 is the end of the Commander Shepard Ark, it's if people want to play a new character in the same universe, ME3 could be the last of the Mass Effect Universe. Yes it's popular, but will people be able to let go of their characters they played through 3 games with and completely start from fresh on a different timeline.

calloftrayarch i agree that the playstation 3 has the best hardware for game systems outside of pc. but the playstation 3 has overtime remove hardware and charge the same price. it used to have 4 usb ports and had emulation hardware to allow you to play ps2 games. then before you where allowed to install another os on it and a patch removed it. i have both systems i personally like the xbox more cuz over the years the xbox added wifi and more usb ports.
With the added revenue of ME2 coming to PS3 it will make the next episode even better. Plus with the profit they will garner from all three platforms think of how much money they will have at their disposal for their next project.

@Meganlover1998 Dragon Age was a very, very bad port to the PS3. Frames and gameplay are everything. DA:O lacked both. The experience is far greater on PC. DA2 runs a bit smoother, but It's so damn linear, and every texture, environment is recycled.
ME2 was a surprisingly good attempt at PS3. I don't expect 3rd party dev's to nail the PS3 like Naughty Dog, Guerrilla Games, etc.. BioWare still did a nice job on ME2.

Well in a way yes and no.
Ps3 was only given Mass Effect 2, Bioware didn't bother to create a ps3 platform mass effect 1 as Microsoft already owns the rights to it. That would be a shame seeing how there are several important choices in that game that affects ME2. The pre-selected choices are shitty.
So Bioware came up with an alternative. Exclusively to the ps3 version the start of ME2 will begin with a virtual comic book of the story of ME1. This comic gives the player the major c

It might run better technically on the PS3, but you'll never have the full experience unless you play it on 360. To play ME1 and ME2, and the continuity that goes through it, is just something that you need to get the full experience. Still a good game, but about 10x better if you played the first one.

I considered buying this to the PS3, but I really wanted to enjoy ME 1 and import the save to ME 2 on the Xbox. The PS3 users have the comic to choose mayor things but there's still many things PS3 owners won't experience. BioWare stated that if you have a save file from ME 1 and ME 2 brought to ME 3, there's over 1000 possible variables.
So I think Xbox users gets the whole trilogy completed, and the PS3 owners gets a "cake with a strawberry on top", so to say

I ordered this and I'm excited, but I'm also hesitant.
Dragon Age Origins PS3 was dog shit. Characters were half rendered, the ghosts looked like they were eaten by Pacman (floating eyes and teeth), and...you get the idea.
Bioware has taken to saying lots of crap to sell a game. "PC is where it's at. 360 is great. PS3 has better range, etc.). Hopefully this won't be a pretty but half-assed Rockstar-type port. If anything having the game on one disc will be fantastic. (bought 360 version too)

A good series like ME shouldn't be confined to one platform. That's why they ported the first game to windows and eventually released the second one simultaneously for PC and Xbox. They'd have released it on the PS3 much sooner if the coding wasn't so different from Xbox and PC.
Xbox players can keep their Halo and PS3 ones their Killzone and God of War but let Mass Effect be enjoyed by all!

I owned a 360 in 2007 and played Mass Effect 1 when it came out. I can say its easily one of the best games of this generation. Months later I got bored with the 360 and got rid of in favor of a PS3 and I been happy with it, but I did miss Mass Effect's story and sadly missed out on the sequel's story. Thankfully in 4 days I will be able to play it and enjoy ME again, and ME 3 comes out in November 9, 2011 so It's gonna be a great year.

@LCash523 You should of kept the 360, It feels much better playing the game when you have the save game file from ME1 and it will be much better when you have ME1 & ME2 save files changing ME3 to suit the choices you made in those two games. It really brings out the RPG element in the game. Decisions Decisions Decisions.

This is good, as well as somewhat pointless unless ME1 is released for the PS3 also, as you'd be starting out half way through the current story without any idea what happened in the previous games except small hints throughout the game which basically mean nothing unless you've experienced the first game. Good idea, failed miserably.

@MicrowavedToast They solved that by releasing a little interactive comic at the beginning of the game. You get to see ME1 and all the big choices in it.

just bought a ps3 two weeks ago and I love it but it really does suck ps3 isn't getting mass effect 1 just a 15 minute comic book going over the events of mass effect 1 I'm sorry ps3 ONLY gamers a 15 minute comic can't replace an ENTIRE game so for that reason only my mass effect experience is staying on the xbox 360 but regardless I hope you guys enjoy this awesome game like everyone else has it truly is one of the best games of all time.

I'm aware Bioware will have enough money to fund Mass Effect 3 but with a larger audience they will be more inclined to create lengthy and quality DLC to go with it. In terms of what is next for Bioware is down to speculation. It wouldn't make sense for them to stop making games. They are an ambitious studio and I'm sure whatever they create will be leaps and bounds ahead of anything done before. What I'm interested in though is good writing. Can't wait for Friday. Make Peace not Console War. =)

@xXxPieGuyxXx Well Bioware has another couple DLCs lined up for us to bridge ME2 to ME3, ME3 is the end of the Commander Shepard Ark, it's if people want to play a new character in the same universe, ME3 could be the last of the Mass Effect Universe. Yes it's popular, but will people be able to let go of their characters they played through 3 games with and completely start from fresh on a different timeline.

both systems games 90% games exclusive and non use 720 p res soo i conclude the playstation been getting worse over the years. and xbox has mass effect 1 a key chapter in the trilogy

calloftrayarch i agree that the playstation 3 has the best hardware for game systems outside of pc. but the playstation 3 has overtime remove hardware and charge the same price. it used to have 4 usb ports and had emulation hardware to allow you to play ps2 games. then before you where allowed to install another os on it and a patch removed it. i have both systems i personally like the xbox more cuz over the years the xbox added wifi and more usb ports.

With the added revenue of ME2 coming to PS3 it will make the next episode even better. Plus with the profit they will garner from all three platforms think of how much money they will have at their disposal for their next project.

@xXxPieGuyxXx Bioware would of already got enough money from ME2 on the Xbox and PC to fund any future games, adding it to PS3 was beneficial. The project after Mass Effect 3 will be in question, as ME3 is the end of the Commander Shepard Story Ark, There is also risk involved, Mass Effect 2 was the best, and with all the reviews it got, Bioware now has to beat its self and that will be a hard mission, because if ME3 doesn't turn out good, the future of Bioware wouldn't look good.
