I think he just hates when fans say they like him for reasons that aren't music-related, and that's all his fangirls seem to do

I don't really blame him, I'd hate it too, but he's always kind of gone a bit overboard with the whole distancing himself from his fans. dunno, just how I perceive his attitude towards us

I don't think he dislikes his fans. I believe he feels a sort of neutralness towards us. I think when girls start falling apart over him; it offends him, because he wants to people to appreciate him for his music. I can respect that.
