is Murtaza khan a salafi?

Murtaza has had the privilege to study at Darul Ulom, Karachi. This religious seminar is the most well recognized in Pakistan. We are all followers of the Salaf because we follow the teachings of the 1st three generation of muslim such as the Sahaba, Tabien and tabien wa tabein.

But, I'm not a modern day Salafi & Sufi. But I follow the classical version of these two branches of Islam.

Thank you for that brother but that is something that i do know but now a days in uk we have a new generation that have changed the idea of the salaf and put it in their own understanding. For example I follow the Hanafi Fiqh and the salafis dont except the following of an imam.

That's not necessarily true, although blind following of imams is not accepted. Importance is placed on the Quran and Sunnah over what the scholars say, because they are not infallible.

firstly its good to say that i can have a talk with a brother without arguing as thats what is happening in this duniya. His opinions are only the understanding of the teachings of the prophets not his saying. I have not come accross anything that goes against the opinion and also we have Ulamas that we refer to. Why do people read books by Albani and follow his understandings of the teachings of the prophet is that not blind following?

brother, there is not a salafi that does not follow the teachings of the four imams. they were the greatest scholars. but they were humans, and can make mistakes. There are things in the madhhabs which can be clearly proven wrong by authentic ahadith.

The opinions of the 4 imams are the best thoroughly derived opinions on Qur'an and Hadeeth. They were Tabieen so I don't see how we as todays generation can say they made mistakes because they had sahaba in their time and were very blessed with knowledge and intellect. 99% of Ulamah were together on this opinion of the four madhabs but the 1% broke away from the majority opninions. To say they made mistakes and that ulamah such as Albani and others have proven this is a mistake.

No akhi, you've misunderstood what salafis believe. Follow from the four Imams the ones that have the better proof and evidence for their opinion. The Imams differed with each other, were they all right? Or were some closer to the correct opinion?

i understand what you say but have you heard of the incident when the group of sahabas split on the decision of performing Asar salaah. One group decided to pray on time whilst the other when they reached their destination. They both acted upon the instructions of Rasoolullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam and so when they asked him which group was correct, the reply was that they are both on Haq because they both strived for the truth. Picking and choosing the salafi way leads to following the nafs

Imagine getting married the hanafi way but divorcing the shafi'ee way or something similar just because it suits someone. That is why using the interpretation of one imam is best, avoiding the following of our desires. What about the hadeeth regarding feet to feet in salaah? all imams do not permit of spreading them wide because we should not take the literal meaning. The same hadeeth also says neck to neck and knee to knee! How on earth can one do this in salaah? Anyway like i said, 99% to 1%
