He was a fantastic artist and craftsman, his works should live on forever, I hope they do. And what a great looking exhibit! Seeing Muppets on display with nobody moving them gives me a creepy feeling tho...reminds me of taxidermy

Would love to see this exhibit but I don't see that it's coming to my city. Have always been a fan of the muppets. Saddens me that puppetry is being pushed aside for CGI. Something about the active human invovlement with puppets that brings them to life.

My husband and I just took our daughter to see this exhibit last weekend (March 6, 2010) at the Mississippi Museum of Art in Jackson, MS. It was really cool to see all the characters that I grew up watching on television, in person! And then, that afternoon, we got to watch "The Muppet Movie" with Heather Henson and her troupe. It was an interactive movie viewing. They had all kinds of stuff they gave the kids to use during certain parts of the movie. It was an unforgettable experience. : )

Yowzah: Miss Piggy isn't a part of this exhibit, b/c she's still around. Granted, so are the others, but Kermit is Jim's alter-ego, Rowlf was the first international Muppet, Ernie & Bert were the first duo characters Jim and Frank performed with a purpose to teach and inspire, and Cantus (along with Nelson's Gobo, the leader of the Fraggle five) has to be in a Jim focused exhibited, because outside of Kermit, Cantus was the Muppet most connected with Jim in a variety of ways.

That kermit was never performed. It's a poser. It's only made for photos and displays.

Possible, but unlikely. The posers are made specifically for photo promo work and they don't retroactively fit a puppet with the required armature inside and certainly not to an old original kermit puppet. They put the old puppets in storage.

I dunno, but I tell you what. I will go and see it when it comes to my town, and I will look at it closely. If it has a sparkle in it's eye and feels like magic, then he's the real thing. But i have to wait until next year. But, BUT, mark my words, I will look and when I do I will find you Gerald5000 and write to you what I see. Deal? :o)

@Gerald5000 If I'm not mistaken, the original Kermit is on display at a museum in Jim Henson's hometown of Greenville, MS. Which, I will hopefully get to go see one day. One would think that since I live in Mississippi, that I'd get the opportunity. lol Maybe one day I will. :)

Great video. I had the pleasure of interviewing Ms. (Heather) Henson on a recent broadcast of the Tiki Room Morning show. A wonderful woman to speak with.
