Thanks, was definately an awesome fishing trip, and heaps of big multiple hook-ups. Been back to those fishing marks, but just hasn't fired like that again. Sorry did once, we filled up a big Spanish mackerel esky in an hour, That was also pretty insane.
About a year ago, but definately some awesome fishing action, we did an exploratory trip about 150 kilometres offfshore from mackay, Queensland, Australia in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef. This was near Steven's reef, Make sure you check out some of our other fishing videos,
They even look like True Reds on the sounder mate!! Looks like they fight about the same as well. a 10 kilo mutton feels like a 50 gallon barrel of stone!lol
The one U call a "COD", really looks like our Nassau Grouper!!
Thanks, The fishing is excellant on the Great Barrier Reef and we are spoilt. Our Cods Proper name is Estuary Cod, but bit silly when we catch them 50 miles offshore, and the other name we use for them is Goldspot Cod. Make sure you check out our Coral Trout. My favourite fish on the reef, and unreal eating. Although great eating and I'm sure yours are as well. Good luck and tight lines next time when out fishing,

Yes we do,your Red Emperor VERY closely resembles out "True Red" Snapper also, if it had a spot on it's back near the tail,it'd look exactly like our "Mutton"Snapper.Muttons here aren't quite as bright red as "true Reds".They are one of the seas best eating fish, still nownere near as good as Cobia tho...Cobia is tops in my book!!
I actually catch a nice Red Emperor, only one in this video, about 5 Kilos or more. You can see some broad stripes on the fish. The Majority of the fish we caught were Largemouth Nannygai, which have a black spot near its tail. These are a nice pink in colour. Thanks for the Info.
Really beautiful, flat calm day!! It's my life's ambition to go over and fish the Great Barrier Reef!
U have a lot of fish that resemble species we have here,in Florida. Your Cobia are exactly same as ours. I think U also catch a fair amount of Wahoo as well,do U not?
We are really spoilt with the Great Barrier Reef and an awesome variety of reef fishing, diving and boating. We don't get too many Wahoo, but alot of Spanish Mackerel which are the same/similar to your kings, and cobia are the same. We get alot of coral trout, which I think you guys call Grouper. Do you get anything similar to our Red Emperor, a very highly prized reef fish, which everyone dreams for!!
Hi, We try and release the big cod, but unfortunately pulling up from the deep they don't survive, but some awesome fishing with consistent 4 & 5 way hookups!!
Tried venting his air bladder but no luck, even towed him to revive, but pretty difficult when you pull them up out of 50metres of water. But definately a top trip, with some awesome fishing,
top shelf stuff Greg...it was well worth the wait!!!..by the looks of it...everyone (including you) got their arms stretched :P...how did the cod go getting released???...thanks for posting the vid :)
