I can absolutely picture that scene in my head. Your sweet voice sits nicely atop that beautiful guitar of yours. It seems like this song would be difficult to play. I love how complicated it sounds. Did you compose it like that on purpose to fit the theme of complication in the lyrics?

I don't know if there's a name for that thing you do on the guitar where you accentuate the 2nd and 3rd strums in some of the bridges there, but WHOA girl--you're crafting a hell of a song/sound. The D note in all the verse chords gives a cool feel; would sound great with some flange on it.

Smoulder is the perfect name for this song because it has a buried intensity to it, like a fire burning underneath that just won't die no matter how hard you try to douse it. I would equate that to the protaganist's frustration.

Seems a little more bitter than the stuff I've heard before - not that bitter is bad, just different. :-)

My favorite line is the one about wine and the Dora cup.
