  • i still prefer the f-15 to the f-16. I still think the f-15 is king of modern fighter jets. I do like the f-22 raptor lightning 2 looks nice but nothing can beat the eagle. The spitfire was king in world war ii the f-15 is the king of modern warfare.

  • @TheFighterpilot93 i still consider the f-22 to be king theyve been using f-15s since the 70s thats not modern. f-15 is ok but not better than f-22.

  • goddamn lawn darts...these jets are so dangerous.

nimble as hell, but so damn dangerous.

  • one every two years crashes down in Northern europe where they still use it. It makes alot of noise when they fly over my house. Once I saw one with engine problem. The engine made a pulsing noise and it flew only about 50 m over my house, pretty scary.

  • always lookin fastt...kool loud jet

  • Great Jet!

  • what's the real difference between the F-16 VIPER and the F-16 Fighting Falcon? i don't see one.

  • really the only differences are that the f-16 viper is a block 50, or 60 model, meaning that the engine is more power ful. but their both sort of the same. kind of like the F-18 HORNET, AND THE F-18 SUPER HORNET, ONE IS STRONGER AND MORE ADVANCED THAN THE OTHER.

  • thanks!

  • Duplex is incorrect. Viper and Fighting Falcon are exactly the same thing. When the F-16 was introduced the airmen who operated it, joked that it looked like "Viper." The fighter from the television show Battlestar Galactica. General Dynamics and later Lockheed never made an aircraft which they called Viper. The unofficial nickname kind of stuck and worked its way into the vernacular of the Fighter enthusiast.

  • Both the F-16C Block 50, and the F-16E Block 60, are the both designated the Flying Falcon. Or the Israeli "Desert Falcon."

  • dude an f-16c pilot told me him self, how can you say i am incorrect

  • Sorry, but your friend is incorrect. Nor Lockheed or General Dynamics has EVER made an Aircraft called the F-16 Viper. Sometimes the names are used interchangably either by lay people or as jargon by pilots and air crews

According to Wikipedia, A book I read about the devolpment of the F-16, and the documentary F-16 "Bird of Prey,"

"Although the F-16's official name is "Fighting Falcon", it is known to its pilots as the "Viper",

  • due it resembling a cobra snake and after the Battlestar Galactica starfighter.

  • Yea, same as like with the A-10 - officially is the Thunderbolt, but nickname is the Warthog.

  • Thanks too!I just know the differences, thanks ya!

  • palastinians in israeli air space

  • That is the most beautiful jet in the world in my opinion. VIPERS!

  • I wonder if this would out perform the F15. I went up in a Mig 15 a few years back and pulled 7.5-8Gs and I tell ya I was so tired after the flight!

  • WHAT R U TALKING ABOUT??????

  • i lived around an air force base for 2 years, and these aircrafts engines are so powerful, that the first time i heard them flying around my neighbor hood, i thought it was thundering out side, everyone in the neighborhood came out of their houses to see them fly... it was kick ass, i would love to fly one of those beasts....

  • the vapor on the f16 looks awesome especially when hes doing the 360 degree turn.

  • Full 360 turn mark 3:12 .. 3:32 = 20 seconds.

So effectively it is 18 degrees/second turning rate.

  • F-16's are cool. I like how they're used as multi-role aircraft. They're also gorgeous, one of the best-looking fighters ever built. Nice to see the "little fighter from Fort Worth" (or at least it WAS) represented here.

  • I wonder how many G's Major Koltes is pulling doing those maneuvers.

  • hes going relativle slow through it all so id guess around 6 on average but during some of the turns it looked more like 3

  • F-16 is the best fighter plane ever!

  • @ragingfire94 F-22 Raptor is better LOL

  • @ragingfire94 f-15c is better fighter...

  • @ragingfire94 f-15c is better FIGHTER too.... (f-16 is multitask airplane)

  • The most beautiful aircraft of all time...why must you replace it USAF, why?

  • The F-15 are showing signes of fatigue on the Airframes and the entire fleet has been grounded 3 time in short succession after several incidents where they fell apart mid flight. It's only a matter of time before the early built blocks start showing the same problem. Its bettter for the lives of the pilots. Besides its like driving a 1970 ford F-100; There is far better technology now to put in jets and we need to stay up to date to be a lethal fighting force.

  • my uncle was in the thunderbirds and i got to go up in his 2 seater f-16

  • Will always be one of my favorite classic aircraft. Its amazing how they can get 29,000 + pounds of thrust with a single engine!

  • F-35 has 40,000

  • And F-16 is 30 years older!

  • during the summers i lve next to Edwards AFB and every morning around 7:00-8:00 there is a f16 flying around and most the time its so low you can see the guy in the cockpit. not only that but i see many other diff types of aircraft such as the B2, F22,F5,B1 and other shit its awsome they do dog fight over my house its fuckin awsome

  • Get a big white sheet, write 'GIVE US A RIDE?' in great big letters, and stick it on your roof. What have you got to lose?

  • B2, Lol, I'm sure.

  • B2, Lol, I'm sure.

  • its Edwars AFB so ya they do fly the B2 and plus Edawards AFB was responsible for testing the aircraftnas they still continue testig aircraft to this day. Also Airforce plant 42 is only afew miles away that also holds top seceret aircraft.

  • Just think how far we've come in a hundred years.

  • F-16 is probably one of the most beautiful and manuverable jets ever created.

  • I think so too.

  • Don't screw with the F16's

  • Saw a interview on Disovery Wing's with G Chuck Yeager and he said his favorite ride was in the F-16. The person interviewing him asked why, he said when you are starting your take-off roll and the burner kick's in and pin's you to the seat you know you are in for one hellva ride. Got to meet him once in Chattanooga Tn., great guy.

  • Saw the Viper west demo in SF today. This bird is agile and fast as hell. My favorite demo.

  • Well the first ever Mig 29 that was downed was shot by a Dutch F16 , never heard of an F16 shot down by any other type of plane

  • The F - 16 is undoubtly the most dashing and best performing jet in world yet after almost 40 years of its first flight. There is no comparison and no match absouletlt fantastic well done General Dynamics and Lockheed MArtin Well Done. Even Russian SU -30 and Rafale euro fighter cant match, even there is no match in US inventory as far as the look of aircraft is concerned

  • Wow...that was simply amazing! Beautiful performance by the F-16 and Major Jason Koltes. I didn't know the F-16 could maneuver to that extent. Gotta love that jet!!

  • Oh god imagine how it would be to fly that one =)

  • nice footage, thats one of the best videos on the site!

  • by them I mean the viper team and their f-16's it should be awesome

  • croheart the mig 29 is one of the best but not the best dogfighter and minuteman3 the f-18 can do anything the f-16 does the f-16 has a faster top speed but is slower in a dog fight. either way it would be the skill of the pilot that wins the day when you compare any jet fighter.(minus the raptor cause you have to be one of the best pilots just to fly it not to mention its abilities) my favorites are though the f-16, f-18, f-15 and of course the raptor. cool vid, cant wait to see them at shaw 07

  • the f-16 IS NOT slower in a dog fight. But your right about the skill of the pilot, that is what wins dog fight's.Maj. jason koltes is one hell of a fighter jock, think about how long he fly's the f-16 with such great energy!the best demo I have ever seen.

  • How can any American say and believe that any jet from any other country (non American jets)are better than ours?? Are you even American?? Where is your pride??

  • I don't care where they are from. It's good to have pride, but it doesn't build you a better jet. Luckily we make mostly good jets!

  • Excellent footage

  • i thought they said the Hornet could do the high alpha passes? and that no other aircraft would attempt to do it

  • hey skeeder i bet you that NASA developed a new way for the f-16 to do the high alpha passes. even thunderbirds are doing it also.

  • This is my favourite routine, I hope the F-16 keeps it.

  • it's the pilot not the machine. (It from the movie ACES)

  • Ouhhh DAMN GOOOOOOOOOOD ! Viper Nothing Comes Close !!!

  • amazing

  • Man who cares about thrust vectoring and stalls, the F-16 is my favorite plane to watch at a show.

  • the f 16 pilot will care when he has a mig 29 ovt on his ass and cant do anything to get him off

  • Dude everyone knows about the thrust vectoring. The F-22 has it, albeit only 2d nozzles. We live in the age of BVR combat. Both NASA and the Russians have been playing with TVC for a while now. Look up F-16MATV or the SU-37 also.

  • The F-16 still has a better roll rate than ANYTHING flying in the sky. That means that If, and I mean if, the mig can get close enough, and I mean close enough (hello AIM-120) close enough. It will not be able to stay with the 16 in rolling scissors, or a turning fight, cause it cannot roll fast enough. The f-16 has the best usable (in combat) maneuverability in the world. Remember, there is a reason why nobody, including the Russians wants to mess with the USAF!!!!!

  • Don't get me wrong, I am US fan but the fact is a fact

  • Oh and by the way the USAF can field 3000 f-16 at any time. How many Mig 29pqrst whatever the crap they are calling them now. Can the sovit.....err ahh Russians fielding?

  • MiG29 is probably the best dodgight plane in existance, even US pilots think that, but the fact is that US pilots have tecnological advantage and can engage MiG's beyond visual range and most likely win that fight, but in a dodgfight MiG is the winner. Check out German MiG pilots against USAF

  • US pilots don't think that the Mig is any better than any thing the US can field. Remember German migs are flown mostly against the navy f-18s. I was stationed with German pilots flying the Tornado's in the late 1990's and they said they would not trade their planes for any mig. Same goes for any USAF pilot worth his wings. When you have the experience the USAF did in Vietnam, you learn a lesson. Never let your enemy challenge you for Air Superiority.

  • you have a good point here i have to say. Confidence with your plane is very importnant

  • Viper east coast team...wow im seeing them in june at a airshow in manitowoc wisconsin...man itz gonna be sweet i luv military fighters

  • listen an feel your heart beat faster, what a weapon for the u.s.

  • very nice!

  • I know that fighter was from Shaw AFB..Biggest AFB on the east coast!! Best F-16 demonstration by a F-16 pilot i have seen yet. Shaw Fest 07..October 13..remember that!!

  • that must be increadible

  • 2003 viper east pilot is now a thunderbird

  • 609 acoms rules shaw!

  • You go Jason...miss ya and Heather...April

  • Is that a Viper East team?

  • Yes, Shaw AFB, SC
