People usually attribute the decline of Liam's once-magnificent-now-shite voice to booze, fags and drugs, but I reckon it's the singing style he adopted around this time that did it for him. Compare the (admittedly great) back-of-the-throat delivery here with the pure vocal in, say, the MTV Live Forever performance, and you can really hear a big difference.
