Anyway, Denmark is one of the few old westeuropean countries that has never been at war with Russia. They have even been allies with us sometimes, like during the Great Nordic War 1709-1720 (against Sweden).
Denmark did send some soldiers to participate in the final battle against Napoleon, but they arrived too late for Waterloo.
And that was because of the English attack in 1801 (seizure of the Danish naval fleet) and 1807 (bombardment of Copenhagen with fire rockets, actually one of the first case of deliberate bombardment against civilians in military history.

In DK you don't get medals easy like in the US or the UK, there are no such thing as unit citations or the like. We have to earn our commendations individually and that officer has got what looks to me like a Service medal and medal of Valor.
Yes, the danish royal Guard is indeed operational. Small country that we are, we can't very well allow a third of our combat troops to sit on their asses while the rest earn a reputation for extreme valor. =)
It wasn't a war per se, but danish tanks and APC's engaged the Serbs in Bosnia because they fired on a Swedish OP. Some 300 serbs bought the farm and a mountain got 15 meters shorter due to an accidental hit on a serb munitions dump.
That was 29 april '94 at Kalesija, northeast of Sarajevo. Regiment was the Jutland Dragoons.
Later that year they also lent a hand in Operation Amanda.

That is not entirely correct. There were two major viking invasions, the first in the 9th century, which happened when the country was divided into approximately 5-6 kingdoms as far as I remember - not hundreds like you write.
But during the second major invasion from 991 to 1016 we were fighting against a united England under Ethelred the Unready and later Edmund Ironside. We conquered England in spite of it being a bigger country than our own, both in terms of size and population.

That is not even the problem. Countries still dislike each other for historical reasons and the Victory Parade in Moscow (2009) showed it when the Russian's invited someone to represent Yugoslavia. The Croats would not march with the Serbs, the Slovenians with the Croats, and they could not agree who would go and in the end they sent no one.

It wasn't a war per se, but danish tanks and APC's engaged the Serbs in Bosnia because they fired on a Swedish OP. Some 300 serbs bought the farm and a mountain got 15 meters shorter due to an accidental hit on a serb munitions dump.

That was 29 april '94 at Kalesija, northeast of Sarajevo. Regiment was the Jutland Dragoons.
Later that year they also lent a hand in Operation Amanda.
The squadron commander deemed that an old royal edict concerning when a danish soldier should fire on the enemy superceded wimpy UN restrictions. Oorah!

Do you suffer from megalomania or what? Britain has lost several battles and wars in the last 300 years. The American war of Independence comes to mind, so does the next British-American war of 1812, where the British didn't fare too well either. As for lost battles, several major battles were lost during WW1, like Gallipoli and Somme. In WW2 the British army was routed in Belgium and later swept out of Greece by the Germans.

As the oldest kingdom in the world we have been in plenty of wars, maybe too many - and I cant belive a British guy are calling Danes for cowards - our troops fight side by side and die side by side in Afghanistan (Helmand) - British soldiers have a great respect for Danes and the other way around

Fought 'prominently' in? We have participated in many UN-missions since WW2. If you mean all out war, then we must go back to the middle of the 19th. century. We had civil war with Prussian interference, the Three year war 1848-51, and the war of 1864 against Prussia and Austria-Hungary.
For the last 300 years, we have either pursued a policy of neutrality or a kind of low profile alliance membership - and (mostly) we have been able to stay out of conflicts.

Several Danes won the Victoria Cross fighting in the British army. Do a Google on these names; Anders Lassen, Jørgen Christian Jensen, Thomas Dinesen and Percy Hansen.

That is not entirely correct. There were two major viking invasions, the first in the 9th century, which happened when the country was divided into approximately 5-6 kingdoms as far as I remember - not hundreds like you write.
But during the second major invasion from 991 to 1016 we were fighting against a united England under Ethelred the Unready and later Edmund Ironside. We conquered England in spite of it being a bigger country than our own, both in terms of size and population.

And our resistance did some remarkeble actions - for example saving I think it was 97% of all our jews.
Actually we can thank our liberations more to the Russians - They liberated Bornholm and they got to Berlin first.

The Nazi demanded our Dannebrog to be taken down of Amalienborg - but the king refused and said he would have a soldier to raise the flag every morning.
The Nazi threatned to shoot the soldier then - but the king then answered "That soldier will be me!"
The flag remained on Amalienborg throughout the war

After we lost the second Schleswig (1864) war we became a very small country - that means we dont want anymore conflicts - and the only conflicts we have tried to stay neutral in was the world wars - the others we actually took part in.
Even the Korean war - we didnt have troops but we sent a hospital ship

That is not even the problem. Countries still dislike each other for historical reasons and the Victory Parade in Moscow (2009) showed it when the Russian's invited someone to represent Yugoslavia. The Croats would not march with the Serbs, the Slovenians with the Croats, and they could not agree who would go and in the end they sent no one.
