  • Thank you for posting these. Looking forward to meeting Rich!

  • I was not at this concert, but one the same year, in IL. It was the time I took my Goddaughter for her first Rich Mullins concert. It was probably my tenth or so Rich Mullins concert, and last of course, which was amazing!

  • My husband and I spent our first date at this concert. I will never forget it. Rich was the epitome of modern-day Christ-like man. When we heard that he had gone on to be with Jesus, I cried for the world's loss, but rejoiced for Rich. I was just telling my three girls about this concert and came across your video. Thank you so much!

  • thank you mr, agostos for the best in christian music,

  • I was lucky enough to be at this concert... I grew up in lufkin.. It was beyond amazing

  • @ marcosagostos - If the eBay seller is "rwm1021" - it is Rich's brother on behalf of the kid brothers organization. I have personally purchased nearly a dozen items from them (half a dozen of the Live DVD for me & gifts) & can report the service was flawless. They enjoy a 100% perfect feedback - so purchase from them with confidence.

  • I love Rich Mullins! I would have married him! His songs are awesome, his heart for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ... AWESOME! He truly was a spokesman for the Lord... no one like him.... no better songwriter! He is at peace with our Lord Jesus forever!

  • I loved his music it was always moving and you got a blessing from it. It was sad he was killed after a concert. I guess God needed him more than we did.

  • Nice intro with "nothing but the blood of Jesus" AMEN. God is an awsome God!

  • I've always wanted to play the hammer dulcimer. I love the sound of it. : )

  • @emmysue20 there was a kid in my Awana/youth group who learned to play the hammered dulcimer and it was pretty awesome to watch. He got really good at it, too. I miss Rich Mullins' music...

  • Hey thanks Marcoasgostos for posting all these concert videos of Rich Mullins. Since I was very little when he went home and never got to see him in concert. Thanks again!

  • So let me say this. Rich Mullins seems pretty cool and talented. I am not religious, but this being the first time I've ever heard this music, will say that Rich seems to be incredibly honest with himself and from the heart with others. I think he gets that life is alittle more complicated and personal judgement shouldn't be thrown around lightly. Which is TENANT of Christianty.

  • @Themanwhodoesnothing Rich died in 1997. His life story is amazing. He gave all his money to the poor. The Rich you see in concert is a man who didn't care what he wore, he only cared about spreading God's message of love to everyone he could.

  • I love Rich. I never met him but you can learn so much about the man it seems through the music. So real, so human. A man touched by pain, loneliness and sorrow but I think that's why God used him to touch so many other lives...like mine. Godwilling, I'll be able to kick it with Rich in heaven as we sing with the saints and angels, holy holy holy is the Lord God Almighty.

  • oh sweet, it's almost like the reggae version of Awesome God. Now the thing must be done.

  • my dad worked where rich mullins was from. he never wore shoes. i met that guy. he is awesome

  • He had a tan before he died.

  • He always had a tan :) Like my grandfather those guys were just outside so much they stayed tan year round. And this was summer, so lots of out door shows :)

  • Oh. My dad stayed tan year round to. He died in a Skydiving Accident on 9/11/05.

  • I'm sorry you feel that way Kshlvr. I'm almost certain that your comments come out of some rejection or hurt you've personaly recieved from someone in the church. Unfortunatly we are all human even the Christians reading your comments. Yes, Rich Mullins was an amazing musician and his inspiration was drawn from his personal faith. But I would think that if Rich were still here among us he definatly say our claim was not in him. He would point his claim in Christ. God bless you.

  • I think I was at this concert. I remember seeing him in Lufkin as a kid.

  • most of the time.

  • Did Rich always do concerts barefoot?

  • Pretty much. I remember once at a church here in Oklahoma City thinking "Oh my gosh don't step on a nail!" So silly the things we remember. But there are many shows where he did have shoes on. Amy Grant says on the Homeless Man video that "no one had calluses on their feet like Rich Mullins" (hopefully i quoted her accurately!!).

I took off my shoes at the Memorial service in Wichita that i attended... i looked around and there were so many shoeless people. A nice memory on a hard day.

  • Wow! I had never heard "Brother's Keepet" before, this is an awesome song.

  • My mom LOVES rich mullens, i'll have to bring her up here to watch this video! lol

  • ya i dont really remember him cause he died when i was little but the drummer micheal aukefor sorry for the spelling i knew him really well kinda well my dad knew him really well he went to our church in witchita and my dad was the pastor there and he does or i dont know if hes doing it any more an appalatchian christmas quartet ( with 5 ppl) that was totally awsome

  • Is the church that you went to possibly Central Christian?

I grew up listening to him and he died when I was really young, I was either 1 or 2 years old.

  • I think that was about Michael, not Rich? A site called danl net (i think - i'm stupid today) has a great bit about what Michael Aukofer is up to these days. He's one of those guys who is SO immensely talented and was happy to back up Rich, like the Ragamuffins did. He is working on an epic work now that will take something like 50 years to finish about the Stations of The Cross. Definitely worth looking up, as is Mitch McVicker, who has put out 5 extraordinary CDs since 1998. :)

  • What an awesome man that is greatly missed...

  • I agree that Rich Mullins was a great man. He was genuine and loved our Savior. He had incredible insight into every day struggles we have here on this side of eternity. I was very sad to hear of his passing.

  • Man i grew up listenin to Rich....Mum was always dragging us kids along to see him, against our will.....Nowadays i would give anything to be able to see Rich and listen to him.

  • Wow, you are so lucky to have seen him! I only found out about him after he died.

  • @OriginalShirker I would pay top dollar to see him as well! I grew up listening to his music but never saw him in concert. Imagine what beautiful music he can play now!!!

  • I love that he starts with hymns... and his reason for doing so :) This was not a man whose biggest aspiration in life was to sell records and promote himself.

I just can never say how much I love this man like a brother - he saved my life, my walk with God. Just a really special, flawed, decent, willing to be used to God human!

  • Amen:)

  • Thank ya! :)

  • Thank you so much for sharing this! I didn't know of Rich Mullins when he was still alive, and its such a blessing to be able to see him live through video. :)

  • I met Rich back in late 89,or early 90.He was extremely talented, had a full band.He seemed to be short tempered and looked really rough, like he hadn't showered for days. But he was very nice, polite and honest. There is an anointing on many of his songs and I'm proud to have met him on that, and another occasion years later.

  • It was really cool to find these videos. This concert was at my church (Carpenter's Way) in Lufkin,Tx. I was part of the video crew. We were recording for overflow and had no idea how this video would impact people for years to come. Rich Mullins was and awesome. I got to spend a lot of time with him that weekend and he sure made an impact on me.

  • Thanks for sharing this with us:)

  • What was he like in real life?

  • Really humble, up front kind of guy. I was amazing to sit and listen to him. I will never forget the day he got there for the concert. We had a crew there early getting everything set up. One of the guys said " some guy just pulled up in an old jeep and jumped out and took off running" We had no idea it was Rich, he wanted to take a run after driving. He did the whole show barefoot. He was the real deal, definitely not in it for the money, just for the ministry.

  • It truly was a tragedy when the world lost this man.

  • Nah, it was a blessing that the world got to experience this man for the short time it did.

  • lol idk...I wouldn't mind having him around- perhaps he would rolls heads and get Contemporary Christian Music back on track...

But the fella is with the Lord...so it's best for him in the long run..lol :)

  • Rich Mullins I think is the best example of Jesus we have..

  • he makes me feel bad being on a praise band, I'll never be able to match the example he left for us...

  • I think he'd love your being in a praise band!! Rich wanted us all to sing. Even people who didn't sing well - he said "If you can't sing LOUD". Ya gotta love that :)

  • Rich Mullins is my fav artist. We all miss him.

I love this song - Awesome God ,very much.

  • Rich's music is a major part of my testimony and even almost 15 years after I first heard his music, it is as inspiring as ever.

  • Rich Mullins is my fav artist. We all miss him.

I love this song - Awesome God ,very much

  • Rich is a great Inspiration in my life and his songs are really amazing.

Awesome God, i love this song very much.

  • r.i.p.

    rich mullins

    we miss u

    we love u

  • OHHH...damn I miss him. He GOT IT. He was not in it for the money...or to be part of some s=wierd right wing political movement..he just loved Jesus. Well....we all seerve ther Lord for a season./...I look forward to catching him in heaven.Peace

  • Thank you for posting these videos. Love to see him as he really was once again. I DID look up Kid Brothers of Saint Frank and found that they are indeed selling this--as well as many CDs and some other items-- on their site. The note from his brother David reads that they are doing that so people can buy it without paying the exorbitant prices that are being asked on Ebay and such.

  • Just an FYI...the kids brothers of st. frank has an ebay store and they sell these videoes (VHS or DVD), as well as Rich's CDs, etc. I believe his sister-in-law is in charge of the store. Purchasing from them helps further Rich's ministry.

  • Can you please give us a link to that? I've tried searching it on Ebay and it doesn't come up with anything. Thank you.

  • w w w . richmullins . c o m

Click on the Link "Check out the Kid Brothers Products Page"

Video is the last item on the list.

  • (Since my first post didn't work...)

Run the name "rich mullins" together and put the usual COMmercial internet thingies around it. Click the link "Check out the Kid Brothers Products Page." It's the last item on the list.

(Hope this makes it past the censors!)

  • Do you know the region code of this dvd? i guess code 1 for north america, but most music-dvds are codefree...

  • Sorry, I don't know—it's on my birthday list, so I'll have to wait and see if the kids come through ;-) I'll try to remember to check if/when I get it (September)

(Sorry 'bout the double post before—when I came back 25 min later and still no sign of it (yes, I reloaded), I assumed the 1st post was rejected for the url, so I tried again, a bit more stealthily.)

  • I've only seen this on VHS - this was actually video taped by the CHURCH where it was performed, so it could then be shown up on a bigger screen. It was just a really cool, miracle deal that this tape existed. Rich passed away about a month after he played this concert.

SO :) My point is that I'm not sure this would be available on DVD..

  • It's out there, I bought one from his EBay site

  • Cool.

  • so sad he died in that awful car accidenr well he is in heaven

  • Just great to "see" Rich again. In my opinion, one of the biggest loss to Christian music and the world!

  • Thank you again for this wonderful video...what a BLESSING for me to hear Rich's AWESOME GOD!!!Praise the LORD!!!

  • Where did you find this video? As far as I'm aware it isn't commercially available, aside from snippets in the Homeless Man video.

  • Yup. Has been since i guess '98? I got mine the day it came out from a store on Wichita called Better Book Room.

  • what's up with billy bob on the bass?

  • You obviously did not know Rich and his band, "This Train", they too have an album out...check them out. AWESOME

  • actually, i was a big fan. he was of the only christian singers that did not sem to be in it for the buck, but was not the name of his band the ragamuffin's?

  • Yes, he did have a band called "The Ragamuffins", but toward the end of his career he was playing with "This Train". Not 100% sure if they were truly his band, but I did see them on tour several times. "Billy bob" was a hoot.

  • hehe, no. This Train was a band that was fronted by the base player in Ragamuffins. After Ragamuffins split, each one of them pursued their various musical interests. I agree, though, that This Train rocked! Edgy rock with Rich Mullins undertones.

  • He was playing with guys who called themselves Little Bros of Saint Frank, according to Mark in an interview from 2000. That's Eric Hauk (beautiful voice, long beard here), Michael Aukofer (i just wrote something about him) and Mitch McVicker. Rich was already working with Mitch on the CD that would come out the yea after the wreck. It's excellent, i recommend it to everyone (and you can get all his stuff for good prices at amazon a lot is out of "print"). Mitch is good people - check him out.

  • He ;-)

Just a gentle correction (no "you obviously"s since we can't all know everything) - This Train wasn't Rich's band. *Mark* was part of This Train and and the Rags and he backed up Rich often. They're putting both groups back together so MR will be busy! There's a new FaceBook group for the Ragamuffins, check it out.. i think for This Train too. I have so much crap at FaceBook i get a little dizzy sometimes ;-)

  • If you are talking about the man in overalls? I suggest looking into him. Mark Robertson. He is one of the coolest, most talented, neatest guys around, He can play anything, he produces CDs and is one of the 4 men who made (and make) up The Ragamuffins with Rick Elias, Jimmy Abegg and Aaron Smith. These mean have talent that sinply cannot be measured.

  • just wonderful. what a guy!

  • Thank you sooooooooooo much for putting this on!

How great to see him again!

I loved seeing his old beat up guitar. He could have easily have afforded to buy a new one and in fact in concert he talked about how people were always wanting to buy him a new one. But simple (unmaterialistic) man that he was, he said this one works just fine! We all miss him and I feel so sorry for anyone who never got to see him in concert!

    Thanks again!

  • its great hearing awesome God from the original writer live

  • Thanks for uploading! I remember hearing on the radio when I was little (about 6 or so) that he'd died and I started crying I believe.

  • That's Michael(Kid Brothers of St.Frank),I guess.

  • yes it is

  • Michael Aukofer is there?? He plays the dulcimer on the opening of "Homeless Man", but I don't remember seeing him here. Guess I can look again!

  • Who is the other guy playing hammer dulcimer at the beginning? Is that Mitch?

  • it is Michael Aukofer

  • The guitar is terrible. Rich had a habit of getting guys to play with him that sometimes could not play well. Fortunately, he also had a lot of very talented musician friends to make up for those charity cases. The tone stinks, and the playing ain't that good. Yeah, I know, How dare I judge my brother or some such nonsense. I'm not judging the dude, I'm just saying, Woulda been better, much better, had Mitch played the melody on the guitar and let that dude play the percussion instead...

  • Soooo wonderful to see this gifted and great-hearted man of God praise the Lord with his fantastic music. Thank you so much for this fantastic video.

  • I'm a Christian in Taiwan,so glad to see this wonderful video here!!Rich's AWESOME GOD was so great...and I enjoyed his MY BROTHER'S KEEPER very much!Thank Jesus for this special video!!

  • Preciosa canción y maravilloso el poder recordar para siempre e este maravilloso siervo del Señor.Gracias por el video.

  • WOW!!Great to see this post up.Thanks.

  • it's familiar but i can't place it...truly beautiful music... this world was blessed to have him in it...

  • Yes!! He always seemed to have one foot here and the other in heaven. I know that he heard God say "Well done, good and Faithful Servant" - and that was the best thing he's ever heard!

The impact of the life of this talented, flawed, imperfect man who was wonderfully gifted and so generous - in my life can't even be measured. I'm SO grateful that God used Rich in many of our lives! The testimony of RWM should always have us running to God, and to our Bibles!!

  • Anyone know what hymn that was he was playing?

  • The hymn is called Nothing but the blood

  • Seeing this reminds me how much his music is missed. He was always just a regular man, with a God-given talent that he gave back to God. He was taken too soon.

  • Thank you for the video

  • God needed this talented man in heaven i guess! I have driven that stretch of hwy where he got killed. His legacy lives on!

  • I gotta say, I understand your sentiment, but that's not how God works. Rich is currently awaiting the resurrection, "sleeping" in the grave, unaware of the passage of time. He died because that is what happens on this earth. I look forward to meeting Rich in the resurrection. Even so, come Lord Jesus...

  • Yeah, I agree. And I know what you mean. Not many people pay attention the the book of Revelation. I'll be wanting to meet him during the 1000 years. Along with Caleb and his daughter (from the bible)

  • If this is true, then why did Jesus say, "Today you will be with me in paradise?" to the thief on the cross?

  • Yeah,I think it's clear...absent from our bodies,PRESENT with the LORD!

  • Yep. And Rich would be heartbroken that any debate or argument about non-salvation issues would be going on here - let's all be very careful , please!! Or I'll whip out my Ministry degree and swat you all with it. LOL

    :-D

  • LOL... I'll guarantee you that Rich was a human being, and he certainly delved into debates and arguments over "non-salvation issues" himself. We could have a "Ministry degree" duel, since I hold one myself, but its not gonna happen. All I'm saying is that there is a LOT said in Scripture about the state of the dead, and it would behoove us to be aware of all of it, and seek a balanced view. Don't base your beliefs on one verse that suits you. (Does your woman wear a head covering? ONE verse...)

  • Rich was amazing, I cant believe you would say something like that, just listen to his songs, all of them are about God, I know how some Christians are, I don't go to church anymore, but I still believe.... God bless you and help you with your bitterness toward Christians

  • aw, and you're a Hedberg fan. We could have had a nice chat. :) Well, you did call a kitten dumb, and i think kittens are awesome :)

  • To be apart form the body is to be in the presence of Christ.

  • Yeah, the idea is that, when you form your theological beliefs, you take EVERYTHING the Scriptures say about a particular topic, and get a balanced view, rather than latching on to one verse out of hundreds...

  • Dude, you are preaching to the wrong person. :) I am no fan of proof texting. Or arguing, for that matter. I would far rather just bask in the joy that was a Rich Mullins concert. :)

  • Was the HWY where Rich Mullins accident happened dedicated to his memory?

  • wow

  • Thank you so much for posting this!

  • He's doing this up in heaven now. Great Video
