@ntolley The bare chords are pretty easy to play. I used to play almost any chord I knew at that time like a bar chord. (For example: G major like 355433 instead 320003) The tone will come on its own if you practice. Becoming a good guitar player is not an overnight thing. It requires dedication, and believe me, if you're dedicated enough, you will be brilliant. You may say it's a long time until you accomplish that, but when you get to that level you will see it's actually pretty short! ;-)
