birds can be kept as pets and taken care of quite well.

i ave a bird and he flies free in the house, he has a good life.

@TheOneWithPowa he is terrified of other birds, but does often go outside.he flies around and comes right back. i am a part of his 'flock' he has no reason to want to leave. i know he would love to be a wild bird. but he thinks he is a person and seems to prefer them now.

apparently if you lay a bird on his back and he stays like that, it means he trusts you! I had two cockatiels who would do that for me all the time. they aren't in pain! or sick or anything. The finch here just trusts his owner.

• my zebra finch died 3 years ago.I think she had a heart attack. she fell to the bottom of the cage and started having a fit so i ran to the cage and picked her up but she didnt stop. her body stopped but her head was moving wrong. She sadly passed away 2 minutes later.We still have the other one though.

I'm pretty sure he trained the bird. Finches do not sleep on their backs, like humans do as far as I'm concerned. I may be wrong though, but I breed finches and I have never seen that before.

i had zebra finch too but today he died because of the botulism in his leg,we were very sad because that zebra finch was our first bird and he lived with us 8 years,it's so hard to lose a bird that it lived with us along years.
